Ok, that is not what is happening on my pc. As soon as I try to open the chrome.exe file, I get a pop up asking me to switch out of "s" mode, then it does nothing when I click on that.

If you got a new Windows 11 and it keep saying something about S mode, switch out of S mode. Go to settings then search s mode then switch out of it!

Mostly likely u found the solution but its because u have “S mode” Activated with is like 5 steps to protect you device. I see no difference basically windows 10 again
1. Go to setting -> into system -> Activation
2. In activation you get to take S mode off (non reversal) to download any apps/software moving forward

It's not dangerous to turn off it just Microsoft being assholes so you can only use their software but I wouldn't download anything your not sure is safe.
