Enjoying the tear down. You are that far in I’d at least be looking at The rod and main bearings after that hard hit that sent the engine back. And yes you said it was running good before but did it run after
Yeah it ran after, right before we pulled it. And we recently leak down tested it so you'll see the results next video. Im going with a dampening crank pulley to ease torque spike on the bearings and building an engine from rods up is too much for me lol. I'm good with a minor top end build for what I want to do with the G
@@AaronNewman Yo I just had one more question lol when I measure my valve clearance I found all my exhaust valve out of spec. So when I remove both the chains and all the cams and order my new buckets and put them in and put the cams back in do I have to hook the timing chains all back up just to verify the clearance? or can I just use a wrench to turn each cam lob until its facing upward with he chain off.
I am working on an infinity I35I do not have the funds to have somebody fixed my car I'm learning everything from UA-cam and mechanics forums and II appreciate your videos cause you make it easy for a stoner to understand s***
Excelent video, Have to change the same crank seal and also the valve seals, to change the valve seals once you removed the camshafs do you rotate the engine to have the corresponding cylinder to the top? either using rope or air presure method?
bro upgrade the oil galley gaskets to the metal ones while your in there they are cheap cardboard like gaskets that will blow out and cause shitty oil pressure mostly common in hr but had it happen to my de 350z do it while you're in there
My g35 is maken weird noise dont sound right someone said it was a timeing issue. They want me to take timeing chain off and see if it still does it telln me could cost 5 grand anyone have any info on that for me one guy said to just drive it till it blows i mean wtf need help hmu.
So my crankshaft seal is leaking on my vq35de in my 06 G35 sedan. This would be pretty expensive for a shop to replace right? Also, my name is Aaron :D
Hey Aaron! Lol yeah man it would be very expensive since they charge by the hour. its a lot to do in order to get the front cover off and get to the seal. Sometimes mechanics can take shortcuts for this seal though.
How do u get the back side of the timing cover off? I had a freeze plug pop off and it's in front of the engine behind the timing cover
Love this series cant wait to take apart my g35
But how can I use my ordinary way of removing it from the car body
Doin this right now on a non-revup in the car but this is a perfect guide thanks👍
Stupid question but is the front main and the crank seal the same things??? Thanks
Did you replace the little orings that seal the vtc covers to the cam shaft?
You should use a softer brush next time so you don't make your metals uneven just a thought
My VTC covers are unbolted and still stuck on. Anyone know why?

Looking good! Thanks!
Hey Aaron does it matter if we set the engine to TDC before removing chain if I'm removing cams anyway? I'm going a Valve Bucket job.
Hey bud, you should be fine just set it to tdc before you're ready to put timing all back together
@@AaronNewman Thank you !!!!

Why didn't you clean all the crud out???
Infinity ex 35 2008 how to remove head gasket
Do you need to remove the timing cover to replace the front seal?
yes I do believe so
I hope you're gonna change those oil galley gaskets
What is the name of that piece? 10:33

youll have to remove tensioners and they are the phillips heads behind the chain in the l shape form kinda its a bitch to do in the car
@@brendenmills9139 Gotchya bro already got the gaskets and new screws

Paint your covers and put the doubleAsupply logo on em too 🗣
Love your videos! I have a crankshaft seal leak, from your experience, is it possible to replace it without pulling out the engine? Thanks!
Every figure it out?
@@sr1300nx1 yeah it's possible. I went to a shop and they did it for $150 including tax.

Every skips the crank pulley causes it’s a pain the ass- he may of just blowtorch it if he replaced the front
Totally skipped removal of harmonic balancer.
Nice!
Be very careful with the timing cover or any thing infront of its stupid sensitive
