I learned a lot, quite simple to tear down, just time consuming (considering i rebuild transmissions for myself and have for a few friends hondas and g35s autos and manuals) which takes ungodly amounts of research and devotion and being meticulous) I only hate the design of the multiple timing covers on these vq35s. Seems like it has 12 and i only worry of leaks having to rtv those back up. Being meticulous as you are is the key. Thanks for the info.

You inspired me to start tearing into my Z today. I still need to unlace all the wire harness off the trans and unbolt the trans from the engine, unbolt the headers and unbolt the engine. But. I got a move on it today

I have a 05 maxima and I have been having issue with it running close to hot but it never pegs the red. I go up a hill and gauge drops back to normal. Temp sensor replaced twice, thermostat replaced twice, water pump replaced, radiator replaced, fans replaced with runs wide open when it reaches 226 degrees and never cuts off until I turn car off. It runs great no misfires. Never had issue with running hot until I changed thermostat due to no heat idling in the winter. Now I have heat but runs hot idk. Any suggestions???

I need to do this on a 2001 Pathfinder 4WD - is it possible to to it without engine removal? I have done it on my 4Runner but this thing is a bit more of a puzzle LOL - from what I understand the coolant crossover pipe can't come out with the engine in , or is there a way to do it?

I'm just curious I just bought a 2005 G35 and I went to replace the fluids and the radiator was filled with water didn't smoke or anything but when I refilled it with antifreeze and drove down just down the block it ended up shooting a lot of white smoke out the exhaust so I'm wondering would that be a bad head gasket
