- Yorkie Pet Grooming | This is a pet style on a Yorkie I did a while ago. The legs are shorter to prevent getting dirty. The body is left long while the length is keep short for cleanliness. The head is shaped shorter.

Staysha Massie My eldest Yorkie has never had her ears touched and they are perfect like the post groomed pictures. No clue how as the rest of her needs trimming etc.

He's beautiful. I did my own yorkies also. I had a female, 3 lbs., with the fine Silky hair, and I did her myself. I later had a male, about 9 lbs, that I did, but he had such a thick undercoat, that I would have the groomers do him sometimes. I always wanted his hair long, and I tried, but you have to keep on top of it, or it would mat. I finally had him trimmed like a puppy cut later, when he lost most of his sight and hearing. He fought me so much, because he was scared, that I had the groomers do him. She would use treats in front of his nose, to keep him calm. She said it worked. He lived to be 16 and my little female lived to be 13. I now have another tiny girl yorkie, just almost 3 lbs. I groom her myself one month and have her groomed the next. She's pretty good for me, just bathing and brushing her.

Its hard to give tips without seeing your dog but generally if the coat is thin it is best to leave the coat longer and tidy the ends, feet, sanitary areas and face. Use a soft slicker and than a comb on the coat.
good job im not your average bather im been pro for 14 yrs now but i know how to groom its sad that some people still dont know the difference between a silky and a yorkie....i worked in hollywood beverly hills Ca.....thats why i stayed a bather i was making around 900 a week which is your fav breed to groom and whats a breed that sometimes likes to give u a run for your money lol we all have that 1 clients thats crazy
Good for you, that a good amount of money to make. I like any small dog but my favorite is the poodle followed by the Yorkie than Shih Tzu, Maltese, Coton and Havenese. I dont groom many Cockers and dont want many lol. They are back breakers and arm breakers.

I've been my cousin's Yorkie for 11 years now. I went to college for grooming and all. But I have extra experience in your keys because I'm the only one she trust babysitting her dog.

I have heard of groomers in a wheel chair. Its best to groom small dogs as they are easier to handle.

I like the leash washing method so they can't go all over the place. Curious is there any reason why you didn't put him on a leash while blow drying him and trimming/grooming him? Or do they not typically try to run after there dry?
Hi, the grooming noose gets in my way and I have my hands on the dog. He is used to grooming and does not try to get away.
@@LoveofGrooming Thanks for the replies one additional thing i have been thinking on is what type of pets should you wash regularly and how often with what type of chemicals to use? It seems cats need more grooming then bathing and dogs need both

Also stupid question but what animals other then dogs should you bath/wash it seems cats on there own naturally wash themselves. Do you groom specifically for domestic pet animals or do you also groom and wash horses , other nonstandard pet animals? It would also be nice to see a video on what brushes and grooming/bathing equipment you uses. Any different bathing products other then regular soap/water ,...Do you have different cutting/grooming styles based on type of animals. I imagine at the top levels would be grooming for show animals but the skill set would still apply to all animals.
Hi, I groom mostly dogs and a few cats and rabbits and a long haired hamster once. Some breeds of dogs get different styles and need different tools. I groom mostly small breeds of dogs that need clipping, I don't groom many shedding dogs.
The majority of the groom's I do have the same style and some may have different head styles.

HI !!! I JUST ADOPTED A TEA CUP YORKIE PUPPY ( HE IS ABOUT 1 YEAR OLD ) AND WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO GET HIM USED TO BEING GROOMED ??
Congratulations! Hopefully the breeder started the grooming process as young has 3 to weeks old. Use positive reinforcements.
Brush with a soft slicker and use a metal comb. Touch his feet and nails and inbetween the pads. Also comb the face and daily to get used to being brushed and combed. Bring to the groomers after the vaccines on a 4 to 6 week rotation. Good luck.
