Guys at the pro level seem to be in a personal mindset of playing style. This video and #43 in particular are why we are 100% behind them as fans. I'm a Gold Domer Fighting Irish man for life, but I'm definitely appreciative of the play and commitment initiative this player showed in this play. That 12th Man mentality at A&M is something special for sure. #43 was playing for every 12th Man who ever suited up on this play.
In high school I never started, didn't see any playing time but I was on the team for years. Very end of Senior year I was put on the kickoff team, and believe me my first kickoff I was out for blood. That's the most amped I've been in my life. Made a line straight for the returner and flattened him at like the 10 yard line. Never doubt anyone who's that hungry!
For those wondering: The returner was ruled down. Abilene got the ball but didn’t score for the rest of the game, allowing another TD by A&M and losing 38-10
@@Dailysweeper43 was first to the ball, popped the guy, then recovered the ball. The other guy flew in and tripped up the returner, no doubt he was still shaken up from the initial hit and lost the football on his way down. Both good plays, really the whole squad did well blowing that return up. But 43 stood out for sure.
As a Longhorn grad that bleeds burnt orange - much respect to the Aggies for this. A really great tradition, and one that makes American college football a unique global sporting experience.

Would've been a much more impressive showing of confidence in your walk-ons if they were put on the field when not already being up by 21 with just over five minutes left to play in the game though... Sooo the call to put those guys on the field was made maybe with a little less "sack" and maybe a little more just being comfortably at ease when you have a huge lead by 3 touchdowns with little clock left. That's when the 2nd and maybe the 3rd stringers get most of their playing time anyway. Nonetheless, they performed well. I didn't see this game but I'd be interested in watching the replay 'cause that dudes knee appeared to be down for a good while before the ball came out.
@@dapo_ The receiving team fumbled the ball. The kicking team recovered. Had the receiving team simply held on to the ball, their offense would be on the field. Because they did not and the Kicking team recovered the loose ball, the kicking team get's to keep the ball and deep in the opposing team's category. Meaning the kicking team's offense has a very short distance to go to score. It's impressive because as walk-ons (that is non-scholarship player,) these players were all bench players and rarely saw the field. Hope that clears it up for you.
@@dapo_ Not like water boys. Water boys aren't on the team. Walk-Ons are actually on the team, they just rarely, if ever get playing time. Usually the scholarship players ahead of them are more talented. Walk-On players generally are practice field players. They'll play the opposing defense or offense against the 2nd string off and def. They get to say they are part of the team. They get any championship rings the team may earn. At larger schools who can afford it, Walk-Ons may even travel with the team and go to bowl games, should the school qualify for one.
If you’re good enough to be selected as a mf walk on for this level you’re no slouch these dudes have to not only bring something special but work harder than the full ride boys… never doubt an underdog

@@eaglerider1826ACU still a d1 school these starters would atleast be 3rd stringers for a top 25 school, they managed to get around our starting defense for most of the first half, and these are walk on practice squad at best players with 0 college football appearances, that’s a very hard matchup, it be like if the eagles practice squad walk ons faced the ny jets
