  • The Back Bump
From a deep squat position, tuck your chin TIGHTLY into your chest, explode your hips open violently, kicking you feet off the ground, and slamming your back into the mat. Your entire back from hips to shoulders and your entire arms from triceps to palms should land at the exact same time to distribute the impact.

The back bump is this funky thing where, contrary to what people would consider "common sense", the harder you do it, the better it feels. "Attacking the mat" hard with intensity (and good technique, of course) actually hurts LESS than doing it "softer", since the force you hit it with fights back against the force of it hitting you. It's hard to understand unless you've done it, for sure.

Isn't there levels in a back bump? I'm taught that some bumps you keep your feet on the floor for basic back bumping

@@jetgrav7419 That's more of a learning tool than how you would usually take one in a match, outside some specific moves.

Thank you for the video! Just started learning 2 weeks ago and struggling a little bit w my back bump and needed more clarification. The coach at WrestleSquare Pro Wrestling is great but just needed the extra pointers. Thank you again!

Hey thanks so much for the video! I heard that neck bridges can cause impingement issues in the neck. Is that true?

Watch the Athlean X video about it, he explains it very well. Instead of doimg bridges, do alternative neck exercises. Check out Jeff Nippard's video on neck building for the best exercises! Good luck and stay safe!

@@Farazk434 That being said, there is a skill specifically useful in pro wrestling for the neck bridge, because there are spots you would run involving bridging up and out of a move in that position. So from a neck strength perspective, yeah, there are way better things to do, but there a specific skill element to how the neck bridge is used in pro wrestling.

This is great. Until you get into taking bumps off of turnbuckles, balconies, 2nd stories, or scaffolds, etc. But Deathmatch wrestlers dont usually have long careers, do they?? 🤣🤣
