Well lil children’s , that’s what the OGs were able to do. if you’re not moving while listening to these epic artists do their thing , check your pulse , cause you might be dead….
Oh but we do! There are blues clubs, blues festivals, many great blues music artists that are carrying the torch lit by these forebearers...you must seek it out
I had the privilege of seeing Koko Taylor when she opened up for Stevie Ray Vaughan in Memphis somewhere around 1980? This would have been super cool to see all these in one night!
Etta stormed in like the soul queen she was and elevated this whole performance! Sangin' her throat off like the rent was DUE! The woman was literally pure FIRE and FURY. Loved her little interaction with Whitney towards the end when they called her name and Whitney Houston cheered her on in pure excitement and Etta blew her a kiss 🖤 R.I.P to the legends on that stage that are no longer with us y’all are sorely missed!
Used to hang out on Monday nights at a blues club in Chicago called The Kingston Mines. It was an open jam. You never knew who was going to show up. Koko Taylor, Jimmy Johnson, Muddy Waters, Junior Wells, Sugar Blue, Willie Dixon, Buddy Guy, James Cotton all ended up there through the years. It was an amazing place. Virtually the whole audience was musicians. The stage was always rotating players, so the music never stopped. The place had a 4 AM liquor license...'nuff said.. lol
DAMN THEM LEGENDS GOT DOWN.‼️THEY BROUGHT THE HOUSE DOWN&BROUGHT THE CROWD TO THEIR FEET. IMAGINE HOW MUCH ALL THE MORE ENERGY THEY HAD WHEN THEY WERE YOUNG‼️🎸🎷⚡️🎙
Superb!!! Great memories of being backstage with Mr. B.B. King, Mr. Albert King and Ms. KoKo Taylor. Growing up listening to the blues my grandmother loved I was in awe of all of those legends! I thank God I came from a music loving family, from my mother to my great grandmother and everyone in between.
God damn I'm so happy to see all these legends on stage... especially Dixon! The guy is blues royalty been around forever and is one the best blues writers and bass player.
Hey very good session. Only One Blues Star i see she in 1990 in 🇨🇭 Miss Etta James. And first was Lucky Peterson on Guitar and he was coming playing next to my seat. 😳👍
Awsome!!!! This is quite a collection of Greatness, These folks have given me hours and hours of enjoyment. I mean I paid for the Albums and or the CD's. Even the band is chuck full of greats.
The Blues is the Father of all American Music. The English know , copy it and create incredible music. Thank you for keeping this great music alive! As a piano player we all know that you need to learn your Blues scales, copy riffs, but you will alway be safe with a 1,4,5 arrangement.
I saw Koko Taylor in a small club in Cambridge, Mass. She was riveting, a force of nature. For those who say this is old stuff, this music blew up and became world music. You can’t be a serious musician and not consider the influence of this music.
What a glorious highlight! Yet, at the same time, none of them was given enough time to REALLY show what they got under the hood. That's what TV did to the Real Thing. God Blessed us with the Blues and with these performers/diplomats/teachers/artists of resilience & Soul.
Than you to the people behind the Grammy Awards by putring all these blues legends play in a single night and broadcasted all over, and uploaded in UA-cam so it be seen over and over by next generations. This will never ever happen again as some of them are jamming up in rock n roll heaven! Blues rules!!! 😂😊😅😂😊❤
Imagine these guys and ladies getting together and planning who would play/ sing which parts! So much talent but which individual would rock that particular piece~Amazing!
I saw Dr. John in 1988. He opened for Johnny Winter. Just him and his piano. Then he played during Johnny Winters set. This was in Stuttgart Germany. I flipped out when his song Right Place Wrong Time was a hit back in 1973!! Great song!!
Just a "moment"?? WTF - the blues was basis for 99% of the music they were hearing then & now. RESPECT to Dixon, Muddy, Howlin Wolf, BB, KoKo, Sonny Boy Williamson, Elmore James, Mississippi Fred McDowell, Lightnin' Hopkins & countless others i could'nt list.
They have a unique style which makes everyone love them. Their wailing and screams are natural. You can feel the pain they been through over the years.
Now that's what I'm talking about that is talent that probably won't ever be matched again God bless these blues people!¡¡!!!! Long live the blues!!!!!!
76 years old and I have seen everyone of these legends live.
Jealous
I would love to sit and have coffee with you, I know you have amazing testimonials
Well aren't you lucky!!
70 and with you my friend. Long live the blues!
Awesome!! Lori from Boston Massachusetts 😎✌🎶
Blues and jazz music - America's gift to the world. The gift of our black brothers and sisters to us all.
Not really. The roots of the blues are in the Protestant churches of early America. Gospel music is the daddy of the blues.
They lived their lives painting out an enduring radiance in a world insistent on ugliness and the beauty of their works is eternal.
All these peeps… so great… and Billy Crystal is a fabulous human… 💙💚💛🧡♥️

If you don't dance to this right away have yourself get checked by a doctor.
yes, but the sound quality is sadly not the best. such an amazing peace of arts history. it deserves a better
