Keep us all updated on that big design by the barn! It sounds like it will be beautiful and fun. I’d like to see how much growth these put on by Fall if you can give a quick mention of it in the future. Thanks for another great video.

Oh my gosh...I've never cut mine and it IS a tree. I'm thinking of going in with my pole saw and just giving it a giant trim...BUT it's the middle of May. I can see dead branches everywhere. Is it worth it for me JUST to trim off the dead ones or go ahead and do a giant trim?

We have a beautiful, giant, regular willow tree in our neighborhood where we've lived for the last 12 years. Once, about 6 or 7 years ago, we were coming home from errands and saw the tree had been completely hacked like you did with your pussy willow.
We were so sad to see what once was a gorgeous tree hacked to barely a skeleton. We thought the owner was planning to remove it completely and had just started the process. However, the what remained of the tree was left intact, and the foliage grew back incredibly fast! It was impressive to see. And a learning experience... I never knew, before, that people had to do this to willows on a regular basis.
I've heard these are deer resistant. I can picture farmers planting a few of the rooted branches along their property line to create a natural fence. Once those cuttings grew into bushes, they would keep the deer out and would protect the feed stored for farm animals.

What time of year is it okay to do this? It's April 2nd right now in NC and I wonder if its too late?

Probably too late for your zone. We’re already almost too late here

How long can you store it in the cool room with newspaper? Is it still flexible if you only use it later on?

We usually give them a two week test period to dry, but we might be pushing it a bit. Totally flexible. Once they’ve dried, they’ll be perfect for everlasting.

After you root them, how do you plant them? I have never gotten them to grow successfully. Thanks for another informative video! Anne

🌓Hey there love your videos and thanks so much sharing so much information. I have some question to ask, could I please email you? I don’t see a email address, in the description box below, I don’t have Facebook or IG but my youngest daughter/caregiver has one, and I could contact you that way if you prefer. Thanks so much again.🙋🏾‍♀️💕

How long would you say did it take your pussywillows to grow to that size/height? I am planting some cuttings that I purchased this year and am looking forward to having my own. Pussywillow is an Easter staple for us. My mother would make an Easter tree out of branches arranged in a vase with colored hand blown eggs and wooden figurines from Germany.

It took them a good 3 years to establish and get this big. We also planted from small cuttings. They grow super fast!
