Thank you once again for sharing your expertise with us. Your videos are so well done! Much appreciated!❤
You are so welcome! Thanks Deb!
I am retired teacher and pre Covid we had to learn Google in about 3 weeks. They just dump it on us. The district did purchase a tutorial package, but it was awful. We were You Tubing tutorials just like this. Let me tell you, we spent a year with a huge learning curve, trial and errors, and frustration trying to master something we never used. However, now I feel like I can figure anything out easier than before. Thanks for the great video and keep up the good work!
Thank you for your support!❤️
I have a Magic Keyboard but never knew the globe key did anything. I've been using the keyboard for probably at least 2 years lol. Thank you. You're a gem. I also didn't know there were keyboard shortcuts per app using the cmd key. I think I need to watch more of your videos.
Glad you found the video helpful!! I love my Magic Keyboard.
Thanks, just got a Magic Keyboard and this was extremely useful.
Glad to hear it! The Magic Keyboard is great!

So, the Global key is the same as the Open Apple key was on the Apple IIe. Got it.
Hi! Imagine my surprise when UA-cam suggested your page! Would love to reconnect off of here. BTW, this was very great. I learned several things I didn’t know.
Thanks so much Kathleen!!♥️ we definitely need t reconnect.
Great thank you. What about on the iMac?
You’re welcome Flossy! My videos are focused on the iPhone and iPad. Sorry 😞
Ellen, my globe key and command key work when I use them as commands, but when I just press the keys by themselves I do not get the menu that pops up that gives a summary of the commands. Why can’t I press the globe key to get just a list of the commands? Why can’t I press just the cmd key to get a list of the commands?
Linda are you using a keyboard!
Yes. I am using the Magic Keyboard attached to my iPad.
Try restarting your iPad. If that doesn’t work Go to Settings > General > Keyboard > Hardware Keyboard > Modifier Keys. Check the Modifier Keys line up with what they should be. You might try restoring to Defaults and see if that fixes it. Hope that helps.
A basic critical mass of knowledge is required before these excellent videos make total sense. Sadly, I am not there, and after four or five clicks on various buttons, I am into 'where the hell am I now territory'.
Sorry Tom! I think if you are using an external keyboard this is a good starting point. Just follow the instructions and you should be good. Thanks for watching.
Ellen, thank you so much for explaining so well about the globe key. I’ve never really understood what it was for until now. I use it for emojis only so can now apply shortcuts. Caron in UK x
You are so welcome! Glad it was helpful Caron!
It’s strange. I have IOS 17.5 and I can’t follow that process in settings to get the globe key.
Hi David are you using an external keyboard??
@@EllensTipsForiOS Thanks Ellen. No IAm not using an external keyboard.
