Dennis, great Lap at INDY & an experience! Interestingly, now I am a little envious, AND A RIDE IN DAYTONA... I did TAKE A “LAP “ , @ INDY with PURDUE COLOR GUARD 1966 ( I was ARMY ROTC, HONOR GUARD ,SSG 1965-67) Parade, @ the 500 Festival, etc. Great times, Anyways I seen Superbird In downtown , Lafayette Indiana, Before Graduating Pharmacy School at Purdue: a little LONG, and Dramatic for me.. !Eventually , buying a 1970 DODGE CORONET 500 in RALLEY red / BLACK VINYL.. ALWAYS KIND Of wanted **to lap, **drive Indy , being an Indiana raised, etc... Fun Times.
The Daytona wheelwell scoops had nothing to do with tyre clearance! They actually reduce front-end lift and overall drag quite dramatically, as seen on most modern LeMans-type sports-racecars. Chrysler put out the story about "wheel clearance" as a way to mislead the opposition.
Yes, sure is: probably smart in a 50 year old car: even newer parts and tires, ....I had a 1970 CORONET 500/383 Turquoise/ engine:: that is powerful too!! even new @ ++ 100 s mph , even on Track, is covering ground...Though, it was made for those 200++ mph running! And needs to be used!!,Maybe up to 125 or so for few Laps....though admittedly some HEMIS can be finicky, and break....quick and EXPENSIVE.

That 55 was dope. And 2018 here.

From far it looks like a shopping cart. Nice thin wheels
@15:15 He's babying the darn thing the whole time.

My God Dennis looked so young here. 😎🙂
Yeah, that was shot back in 1996. We all looked a lot younger then. 🙂
No concerns about insurance rates now. Why not dyno and find out the real HP?
He would have a heart attack if I had that Daytona on that track
The way its meant to be run? I can ride my bicycle faster than that.
I hate that car
Sorry to hear that.
@@MyClassicCarTV lol, great show though
