Fox has a perfectly compatible skill set to how the Spurs play and his pick and roll with Wemby would be insane. Which would mean Devin is the SF in that lineup so Fox plays SG and Castle plays PG, but still super balanced team with Fox as a prime offensive engine at guard next to Wemby

As a Spurs fan, the worst and maybe only bad part about Wemby, is that the moment he joined the Spurs, there were fan boys out there throwing every Spurs player under the bus, which is not something real Spurs fans do to their players. Its so sad that they are treating Wemby like they do Lebron, where every player on Lebron's teams is easily tradable, when Wemby and Bron are such different people and characters. The media and fan boys want the entire team to be traded so they can say the Spurs took big risks to put a title team around Wemby, but Spurs fans want the team to grow sustainably and develop great young talent around Wemby so we can have a 20 year dynasty again

Pop playing Sochan at point was a win-win situation. Sochan gets way more practice at playmaking (one of his biggest weaknesses) and Spurs also get a great draft pick while figuring out what works with Wemby

It worked for the Spurs with Tim Duncan, but these are the exception of the rules (maybe it only works for the Spurs ), normally tanking does not change the teams success rate long term and it certainly doesnt make me happy as a paying customer to see my team suck on purpose AFTER they got a generational talent.

This past season, it was just not going crazy and trying to be competitive for no reason. It’ll be the same this upcoming season, not outright tanking but just not needlessly trying to win. Too many people are impatient, yes it sucks watching the team be bad but they need to grow together and organically rather than just trading for Trae young and trying to be competitive right away for no reason

Thank you for making this! It was so annoying seeing all the hate towards him during the season. A lot of it wasn’t even his own fault. He was playing a position he never played before and I thought it was ridiculous that people were saying he hated Wemby
People who don’t see Sochan as amazing player with good hustle, work ethic and potential are clowns. I’m a OKC fan and also follow the bulls, he was never supposed to be a PG but atleast he got some experience from playing in a position that’s not his forte. The Spurs were never going to win or try to win last year, they just wanted to give their young players some playing time so they could somewhat find their identity and playing style. The Spurs started playing much better at the end of the year. Don’t underestimate Vassel or Sochan. I believe those 2 players will improve greatly over the next 2-3 years. Everyone is too busy glazing Wemby instead of paying attention and watching the other Spurs players. It wouldn’t surprise me if 90% of the people commenting on the players didn’t even watch every full game of the Spurs and instead just watched the highlights which are biased with showing Wemby over everyone else even when he has bad games

Guys don’t understand that on a team full of young guys trying to prove themselves they’re going to have a hard time knowing when and how to pass the ball to the proven superstar. Fact is he’s one of the best on ball defenders in the league statistically and now that he can actually play his position and he’s only 21 going into his third year into the league. “Pass the ball to wemby” sounds easy until you realize Sochan literally never had to playmake like this before and he’s an attack first forward like Keldon, now a pass first, last season definitely helped him as he looked better once he got his confidence back but don’t forget he was drafted off defense first, his offensive game was always a work in progress but for a 21 yo his progress has been pretty good.

Last season he shot almost 31 percent from 3 and almost 78 percent in free throws he is gonna have a breakout year in this upcoming season. He could turn into another kawhi if he improves these weaknesses all depends on this upcoming season for Sochan.
Sochan will be a better draymond, he may not end up as good of a defender as draymond but he will be significantly better offensively I can see him getting to a pascal siakam level in terms of offense

Most NBA fans (and talking heads) are simply dumb. I've had to listen to pundits and fans laud chokers and frauds like James Harden and Joel Embiid to no end while these guys fail year after year in the playoffs. Fans and pundits overlook rebounding, defence, effort, and all the "little things" that every team needs. Players like Sochan are more valuable once the playoffs begin. Sochan is heir to a long line of players that were invaluable to their team, players like Rodman, AC Green, Michael Cooper, Dennis Johnson, Green, Bruce Bowen, and others. I don't know if Sochan will be as good as any of those guys, but he plays the same role. Be in the right place at the right time, make the right play, and outwork everyone else on the court. Especially paired with Wemby, I'd rather have a guy like that than a glory hog drama queen like Harden or Embiid.
He's a more skilled scorer then dray has better lateral mobility than draymond for sure dumber on thr basketball court at this stage and we will have to seenifnhe can guard in the post like draymond. But if you can get him to be a draymond light like 80 percent defensively and 80 percent playmaking while having a much better shot beside wemby that's legit.

Most NBA fans (and talking heads) are simply dumb. I've had to listen to pundits and fans laud chokers and frauds like James Harden and Joel Embiid to no end while these guys fail year after year in the playoffs. Fans and pundits overlook rebounding, defence, effort, and all the "little things" that every team needs.
Players like Sochan are more valuable once the playoffs begin. Sochan is heir to a long line of players that were invaluable to their team, players like Rodman, AC Green, Michael Cooper, Dennis Johnson, Green, Bruce Bowen, and others. I don't know if Sochan will be as good as any of those guys, but he plays the same role. Be in the right place at the right time, make the right play, and outwork everyone else on the court. Especially paired with Wemby, I'd rather have a guy like that than a glory hog drama queen like Harden or Embiid.

He's a more skilled scorer then dray has better lateral mobility than draymond for sure dumber on thr basketball court at this stage and we will have to seenifnhe can guard in the post like draymond. But if you can get him to be a draymond light like 80 percent defensively and 80 percent playmaking while having a much better shot beside wemby that's legit.
