Hey when do you think you’ll be doing a 2023 comparison?
I just want to say I appreciate the time and effort you put into all of your videos.. I have so much respect for how well your research is executed. I will NEVER purchase anything for my floors without seeing what you say first 🤣… your credible information is appreciated by many!
Thank you so much 😊
I’ve never watched any of your videos until today. As I was watching this it even sparked the interest of my partner who was sitting on another couch. We then watched the whole video together and cannot believe how amazing and in depth your analysis and review is. You certainly went above and beyond what I was expecting!! You’ve got yourself a follower - thanks for your advice!! :)
Welcome aboard! Thank you!
If the water tank level is not visible, you could try weighing the robot before and after a water fill up. Differences in weight equals to water gained or lost by the robot. Just make sure to consider any auto-emptying features of the dust pan as this may affect weight measurements.
I'll be waiting for the bell icon 🔔
I bought a S5 Max last year based on your videos. Now, I can't live without it! I'm so glad that the old S5 Max is still holding up against newer competitors. I'm here to thank you Vacuum Wars for helping me choose a great robo vac. It was an amazing year with the s5 max and your content! I love both! Peace.
The s5 max is probably the best value Roborock
Put the kids out
Same here! Love my s5 max, we have a golden retriever and its been so handy when we go to work to just put that on and let it grab all the loose hair each day!
I've been wanting to upgrade to a newer more feature rich robot vacuum for a while but my dang s5 max is still going strong! At this rate I'll never get a new robot vacuum 😭
It seems weird you didnt consider the S7, as the mopping ability is identical to the S7 MaxV (no dock) as well as being VERY close with vacuuming capabilitirs, yet it can be had for pretty much half the price in most regions. It would honestly have been a great pick in most categories, and should’ve atleast been included for suggestion.
Still no Dreame W10?
I bought the s7 MaxV ultra after your recommendations (and after returning my iRobot j9 and their mop) and I am blown away with how great it is. My iRobot models took 3-4 weeks of daily mapping runs, me rearranging furniture, editing the maps, and soooo much effort, just to get it to MAP my house. Then, after a few months, the maps started to degrade (they say you need to re-map often 🤦🏻♀️). The Roborock mapped my entire house PERFECTLY in 15 MINUTES!!!!! No effort by me!
I’m really glad you are happy with it!
The price tag of $1400 is insane. I'll wait a few years when it will inevitably cost less than half that just like all their previous models.
Yes, the iRobot bravajet (or whatever it's called) is horrible at navigation.
Funny, on my S7V Ultra's 2nd run after mapping my 3 room 1st floor, it magically moved the dock in the map and totally lost navigation. I have to re-map.
vslam robots usually take a few mapping runs to fully map your house compared to a lidar robot which usually takes 1 run. But my Roomba J7 vacuum robot navigates well and has no issues with the map.
There is one more test you should do: the grout line test. In my house I have 1/16" grout lines between my tiles and frustratingly enough I have yet to find a robot able to properly clean them. Secondly you should also test how they handle not dried messes on your floor, for instance liquid grape juice might just be spread by the side brushes instead of being cleaned.
Or you could.. you know.. dry your own spills since you're clearly there.
Grout is a nightmare. There is none on my house. We traded all of it for LVP. Cleaning is so so much easier.
@@JonasHolmer 🤡
I’d love to see a mop/vac test on tiles with grout as well! Make this happen good sir! 😊
All these years after the initial review and my S5 Max is still kicking ass!
Nothing beats the Dreame Z10, as it includes a dock for such a low price is such a life changer, i just don't have to clean out the bin for !!TWO!! months before the bag is full. Daily run at 7 AM keeps everything so clean.
Awesome. I bought Roborock S5 Max after watched your review years ago, and happy about that. I don't think the urge to upgrade to S7 Max untill they can literally mop the edges to zero inch. Waiting for that day. I also don't care about the camera AI whatsoever because i always clean up toys and move all chairs up to the table before robot cleaning. 😅
It's impressive how Roborock S5 Max is still holding up against much advanced models.
This is the base for all future models by roborock
Yup, since about 2019 I believe.
Yeah got the S6 MaxV which is basiclly the same mopping system. It's pretty good :)
@@RubenKelevra i'm thinking of getting the S6 max, or should i just wait 5 months for blackfriday and go for the S7 max since i don't need it ASAP and will probably keep for at least 5 years? (given it survives that long)
the S6 max seems solid :)
@@_TrueDesire_ if you have carpets get the S7 Max. If you have pets (and pet waste may be an issue) get a MaxV (S6 or S7).
IMHO there's not that much difference between the S7 and the S6 in terms of cleaning ability. S6 do clean nearly perfectly, even dried stains if you add a little bit of cleaner and not straight water.
I used chlorinated water (made at home by using electrolysis with salty water). It completely evaporates and is thus very environmental friendly.
And just get a big bag of mops, like a dozend, as you just put them in the washing machine together with your kitchen rags etc. at 60°C.
:)
Got the S5 Max last year and it's still such an incredible investment. Easy to use. App is great. Takes care of everything. Emptying the bin and filling the water isn't a big deal, especially for the much lower price range.
This is my favorite youtube channel. I've purchased a shark apex, and two roomba i7s just based off your reviews and i've loved them. Keep up the great work.
Thank you! I'm really glad to hear you are happy with what you got.
So glad you're redoing the OMI review - so many guys showing such good results. What a legend you are sir!
Thanks so much!
Pet hair, pet hair pet hair. We really need to see how these things do against pet hair. How often do the rollers need cleaned? How good are they at getting pet hair out of the carpet? How good are they against pet hair on the solid floors?
Roborock just wipes the floor with the competition.
Glad to know I wasn't wrong about the X1. I had fantastic mopping results with it on my floors when testing. Great video as usual!
Thank you!
@@VacuumWars Hi i don't know how to reach out to you...could you please compare Hobot LEGEE 7 with Roborock S7. Especially for the mopping functionality. Heard great reviews about this vaccum mop combo and would like to hear your thoughts on them in comparison to the best mopping vaccum currently in th market. Please consider this request.
I'm a little surprised you didn't use the iRobot Braava jet m6 as some sort of control or threw it into the mix. It's no combo device, but it is a different kind of moping system compared to these.
... maybe because it is old hard and software?!
I don't think I could have looked at another robot mop this week... 😵💫 but thanks that is a good thought.
@@VacuumWars I was also surprised you didn’t look at the iLife Shinebot (which is basically the *admittedly lesser* robot version of a Crosswave) but you went through so many. Great review. Great scientific methodology. This is why I so strongly support your content and flag when I see others stealing your content. Your unbiased reviews provide vital information in an over saturated market. People are trying to the best with what they have and your quality reviews help people to save money.
@@aval5098 i underline your comment! The way of testing and the scenarios are much better than the other competitors!
I really don't even need or want one of these but I can't get enough of your videos.
Give this man a netflix show!
Nice! thanks!
The level of depth of your analysis is really astonishing :) congratulations!
Thank you so much 😀
This is a video comparing mopping of the robots right.. So with the Dreame brand. Why did you choose the Z10 over the newer W10? The W10 is more of a focus on mopping, so looks to be more relevent to this test.
I only own the Z10, not the W10 so have no idea how it actually performs. That said, i rarely ever use it to mop. Too much effort getting the mop attachment out, filling with water, etc etc. I havnt looked much into these newer vacs with auto water fill/empty and cleaning yet. But I dont think I see any 'leave the mop attachment in the dock when not mopping'. I think I've seen some that raise the mop up from the floor when not being used, but that can still potentially touch thick carpets and other things like that imo.
Maybe a couple of years from now and they'll have that sorted plus a mop that comes even a little close to the effectiveness of hand mopping.
Impressive testing methodology!
Thank you!
Your reviews are thorough, and much appreciated! I'd suggest reviewing each brands customer service with mock issues to test their ability to solve problems likely to arise in the future. I purchases a Roborock based on your testing, and the first 6 months were amazing. Once I started having issues, getting Roborock to offer any reasonable support is frustrating and time consuming -- they have deplorable customer support.
I come from CGP Grey and their Cortex Podcasts. They didn't lie about that channel.
Even if I'm not interested in the specific brand, I still watch your videos because they are extremely informative and they have helped me make better decisions simply based on what you have taught me. Thank you, you are amazing!
Awesome! Thank you very much!!!
I'll stick with my Roborock S7 plus for the win 🏆 😎 😉
you need a dreame W10 for a fair comparison of similar generation as S7maxv, X1 omni etc. Z10 is an older, much cheaper model compared to the top end very expensive ones
Can you review the vacuum brand Yeedi. They have a new robot vacuum coming out in June. I’m curious how it holds up.
Hi @vacuumwars, thanks for videos like these, it really helped me to choose my robot vacucum.
As robot vacuums are bought not only to clean well, but for their convenience, I'd recommend adding couple more tests for them:
1/ Loudness on moving, not cleaning => when spot cleaning on the other side of the house, how loud the robot is when getting there? There should be no cleaning on this movement, and still, Roborock, for example, is so loud.
2/ Same case as before - moving a to spot, but this time, there is a patch of carpet in the way. Let's say it has to go through the room when it's stationed (hard floor), then another room with carpet, and after that there is the room where spot cleaning should occur, hard floor again. Some robots, when going over carpet, turn on high suction even when the mode is set to "mop only" or "no cleaning - only move to destionation spot", which is certainly not wanted.
3/ How does the vaccum handle mirrors? Let's say you have mirror on wardobe doors. Full height - top to bottom. How does the vaccum handle it? Does it recognize it itself? Does it at least allow you to mark it in the app, similar to no-go zone? Do does it just map "room" behind the mirror?
4/ App/API - does the API (or at least their app) show when was the last time you emptied dirty water? Does it show how much clean water is left? You know, when Roborock S7 tells you there is almost no water, it's too late to do anything with it. You are already out, and it's mid-cleaning and now it stops mopping because there is not enough water. It needs to tell you way before there is last 2 drops. The same with dirty water. It doesn't mater when the tank is half empty and is good to get water from 4 more cleaning. But when it sits there for a week, it will start to smell, so you'd need to se ethe time of last cleaning in the app/API.
Dreame bot w10 is missing, wondering how it would compete against these.
WOW this video and these new tests are on another level man!
Thank you! I’m trying to keep up!
@@VacuumWars Could upu please review the Hobot Legee 7. This has an interesting and powerful mopping mechanism compared to the once on the video. Please compare it with Roborock s7 .
itd be great if you could add a noise category. i was planning on getting one specific model but the auto empty bin sounds like a jet engine.
Aha S5 MAX continues! I love that its still keeping up with its excellent design.
Awesome work on testing standardization and criteria. Glad to hear about X1. Fantastic work!
Another very, in depth and well done video! Thank you for all your effort in testing and making these videos
Thank you!
Thank you for doing this research.
Our pleasure!
Can you do a best mop vacuum under $300 video!
Please test the new Bissell Crosswave x7 series!! They claim to be better than their older ones!
Can you do a video of those top 3 picks vs the robot mop only ones like braava jet m6
Did you get revised pads for the Omni?
It would be great to see a vaccuming and mopping comparison between the Ecovacs X1 Omni v Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra v Roomba S9+/Braava M6 combo. Love your reviews :)
Noted! Thanks!
I'm glad two Roborock models ranked in the top three. For the deebot X1, check your mop plate, apparently there was an issue with the mop plate not dispensing enough water, Ecovacs is aware of this and will replace the mop plate if yours has this issue, this could be why you weren't getting good mop results. I don't use the mop feature very much on the Roborock S7 Max V but it is an excellent robot, one of my favorites.
Yeah - I hear you. I have it on the big list but I really don't know when. Thank you.
I'm not. It's made by the evil Chinese government. No reason to support them. You're allowing the Chinese gov into your home
All three of his awards were given to Chinese government companies
Woww amazing fiture robot
You feature the Braava M6, how did it do?
DreamBot W10. Best made yet.
This is a great vid, but I'm surprised you don't have the narwal t10 in here. It also mops and self cleans itself. From what I have seen it looks to be pretty darn good as well.
Came here to say this too. We have it and would recommend, especially after recent app upgrades to divide rooms and set no-go zones to n your map. My one caution is its ability to sense stairs is not strong and you really need those magnetic keep it away from falls strips to be sure. Ours has completed rocketed downstairs but thankfully still works.
Still loving the 2 S7's I purchased last year thanks to your videos.
Great to hear!
Often it is said that you need to clean out the robot vacuum properly, often with another vacuum if you have it. What would the ideal combination of robot and vacuum cleaner be? Roborock plus a small hand vacuum?
A vacuum with a detachable hose would be fine!
Is Ecovac t8 AIVI tested with Ozmo pro attachment or the standard one? thanks.
White this is interesting and valuable, it would be very helpful to know how well these contraptions do in a real house where there are furniture without getting stuck. This is IMO very important for decision making.
I can't believe I got excited by seeing this thumb on my recent uploaded videos...
I'm getting old.
I think the Roborock G10S and S7MaxV, but G10S has even more features like video-camera, mop self-dry option and direct connection to water/sewage option. Unfortunately, currently only in China.
Ha vacuum wars I have a dyson now !!!
We hope you enjoy it!
It's amazing that no one addresses tile floor problems.
Mopping solutions provided by manufacturers are usually chemically heavy. Using this on tile floors leaves residue in the grout & turns it dark over time as dirt sticks to the residue. This is a big problem & the main reason my wife doesn't want a vaccum mop. However, companies like roborock think everyone wants a mop with their vaccum & so you cannot buy a feature rich robot vaccum without a mop attachment.
Does the Roborock S7 have the same abilities to mop as the S7 MaxV (except for the auto cleaning) ?
What about Roidmi EVA?
I'm eagerly awaiting the X1 v. S7 Comparison.
Great content as always!!
Can you please compare the Roomba J7+ with Braava M6 vs Roborock s7 maxv ultra?
Thank you once again🙏🏻
the reason you might not be getting good results with the X1 omni is because early models had cleaning pads which were not thick enough to clean properly
He's already got the good one now
I did notice the Dreame W10 was missing from this test, and also that it hasn't been reviewed on the channel. Any plans on covering that machine? It looks amazing but i feel like it needs some more online coverage.
But there's multiple video where the w10 can't dock properly
@@arx117 not true, i have had w1p for a while now, it always docs.
That's what I said. WOW is amazing
For me now is dreame l10 ultra
I would give the X1 Omni a lot of points because it is available now and Roborock keeps pushing out their US delivery date, probably because of China lockdowns. If the X1 Omni has another price drop before the Roborock ships, I'll probably just buy it. And I'm a "died in the wool" fan of Roborocks. Any of the other mops that don't go back to the base to get the mop cleaned will have problems with a bigger space because the pads will fill with dirt and the robot will probably start dragging dirt all over the floor. I think one good test would be to have them all mop a large space to see what happens as the mops get dirty.
Yep. I agree with you on the larger space to clean. I'm glad Vacuum Wars got the record straight with the X1 Omni because it's a great robot.
Once again the king is here. Great Video Sir
Thank you!
My new Bobsweep Dustin mop won't return to charge & is like going over same spots when mopping? Vacuuming is perfect.
Could you guys take a look at the barkbath from bissell? I know you guys aren’t a dog channel, but I’m really curious about how it performs as a vacuum. Something that’s supposed to bathe your dog and clean grape juice out of a carpet sounds… interesting
I wonder if you could test xiaomi robot vacuums, just to compare and see how good or close they get (if at all) to the more expensive ones
Ty
Let's get ready to Roomba!!!!
Why not include the iRobot Roomba?
you should have listed all the products as they were rated overall
Perfect video. The Last 2 videos is the best you have made in a long time. I would love to see more focus on the AI. i know you use alot of time testing and so on. I follow you for a long time and seen many videos. Alot of my friends ask for advich when buying these robots from me. One question i never can ask correctly is door panels and how how one robot can travel over. I know it take alot of time. But maybe when you need something new you coud simulate door panels in different height? 1cm, 2cm, 3cm and so on.
Do you think you could do a budget version of this category of mop vacuum robots ?
I have an elderly dog that is basically incontinent and I was hoping to get a robot mop to clean up after her during the day but it seems like they all have a vacuum in front that would suck up pee before the mop pads touched it. Are there any that you can recommend for what I need?, preferably with washable pads because I don't want to make a ton of trash.
Thank you for helping me make my decision on which one to purchase. Well thought out test strategies! I appreciate it 😊
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you so so much
You're welcome!
Thank you for your work ! Great video as always 👍🏻
Thank you!
On your mop clean test please drop MIO droplets on the ground. They're actually insane hard to get up, but can be pulled up.
Surely the impossibly hard to fix “error 10” takes away from the roborock’s usability and should be considered when rating the S5 in third place.
Amazing work, thank you! Did the T8 AIVI have the OZMO Pro oscillating attachement on or the normal?
Thanks! The normal one.
@@VacuumWars Hi! Very interesting video test! Do you think Ozmo Pro performs better than Vibra Rise of S7 MaxV?
iRobot have a 2 in 1 combo vacuum cleaner and mop
They don’t, and while they claim that their vacuum and mops can work together, they really dont
@@bankomeister11 iRobot Combo. It isn’t in the US but in other countries. It is a mop combo
I still have my S5 that I got thanks to this channel. I have loved it so far but now I have to replace the LSD battery. Does anyone know how I can find that part? Everything else works perfect but it keeps giving me an error.
Thank you! This is so helpful 😁
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you!
I want to see if its possible a review of the Roborock hand held vacuums.
Hey man I’ve been a fan of your videos. I was wondering if you could do a review of the latest smart 360 robot vacuum ( s8 , s9 , s10)
Thank you! We can make sure that the 360 is considered but just can't make any promises. Thanks again.
w o w . Excellent, thorough and creative study. This must have taken you forever. Thank you. Great job! A++
Thank you very much!
Nice
Perfect timing. I’d like to get a better robot mop/vacuum robot. Not sure if I should get the S7 Plus or S7.
Also need a good handheld vacuum
I love your videos because of how in depth your testing is. Unfortunately I feel like you are missing a critical component when testing robot mops. When comparing mops what you don’t explain is that the robots only wet mop the floors and do not clean/sanitize them. Robot mops like the iRobot m6 can have cleaning solutions that can be put into them that mop and sanitize your floors which in my opinion would blow any other robot mop out of the water since cleaning is the primary purpose of a robot vacuum. I understand that in this video you were only comparing 2 in 1 robot vacuums but for the price of a Roomba j7/s9 plus an m6 it costs way less than the new Roborock and Ecovacs so I feel that comparing the two Roombas with the 1 robot vacuum is fair.
Anyways I love your content and am not trying to criticize. I only think you overlooked this crucial part of a robot mop. Thanks for all the great content you put out!!!!
Roborock makes a cleaning solution you can use with the vacuums. With regards to other brands, other people have used diluted vinegar and not had a problem.
I also forgot to mention that I stick with water as a maintenance clean in my robot vacuum because most cleaning solutions are not pet friendly.
Diluted vinegar is ok but not as good as a real cleaning solution especially since it can ruin the interior of the robot. My cat also has no problems with the cleaning solution that I put in my Roomba, he walks all over it lol. Also can't find the cleaning solution that Roborock uses with with robots u mind linking it for me?
I have the iRobot M6 and it's ability to navigate is pretty pathetic. And without the ability to clean it's own pad, the user has to change pads frequently during the cleaning job or it just gets dirty and spreads the dirt around. I can't wait to get the Omni or S7 Max Ultra so I can get rid iRobot mop.
@@joelee2647 I use small amounts(probably way too much for the amount of water) of floor cleaning solution. The floors smell nice after mopping. I use the original mi vacuum with a aftermarket attachment ( the gravity fed)
Thank you for your videos and reviews, seriously.
Can you do the winner against the iRobot scooba 380?
Hello,
Good test video it would be interesting to add the cecotec conga 9090ia
Hello!
I bought the roborock s5 max and i am really happy but at the same price there are other options such as ecovacs deebot ozmo t8 aivi and roborock s7 on sale and Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8+ Plus i live in apartment where. I have meduim carbet in everyroom and the mop feautre is needed which one would you recomnad me plz ?
Dreame W10 and Narwal T10 worth testing too.
What is the best upright corded vacuum you recommend vinyl flooring and Medium to high course carpet
PLEASE REVIEW THE NEW DYSON BALL ANIMAL 3 PLEASE I NEED TO SEE A REVIEW AND HOW GOOD IT IS BEFORE I BUY ONE!!!!
Great video once again!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Perfect timing for this video. I spent the past 2 days researching what's the best vaccum-mop robot to buy, binging videos on this channel (my go-to channel on vaccumes) but couldn't find sufficient info about the latest mop robots specifically. Now I log into YT and I see that you posted this video like 20 minutes ago. Did you read my mind or something?
Great minds think alike!
I'd still wait as he's about to post a detailed V.S video on the top 2
You should release the top 10 list like you did in the 2021 video
What do you recommend for a all vinyl plank floor home, don’t really need the mop option just something that self empties.
take a look at some of the newer Roombas, plus versions. ua-cam.com/video/s35ukmkxCV8/v-deo.html
