The "opioid crisis" has been treated EXACTLY the same way as the "crack epidemic." Some politicians did a lot of talking, they threw around and wasted a lot of money, and nothing changed at all for the addicts or their families. How is that different?

First, meth was around and plaguing the white community long before opiates, and meth use had comparable prison sentences/punishments to crack for a couple decades at least. Secondly, the opioid epidemic started in 1995/96 ish. From 1995 to about 2008 ish, nobody was trying to treat opiate addicts any different than any other addicts. It still comes down to demographics, but not the demographics of race - the demographics of money and power. Whether it’s poor white meth heads or poor black crack heads, the treatment was pretty comparable. But that changed when it was rich suburban kids whose parents had access to power.
Chappelle is uncancellable. Many have tried over the years, oh lord have they tried! BUT, this man deflects cancellation like Superman deflects bullets off his chest! Tbf, I am all for cancelling people, who are actual predators and criminals in hollywood and even online. I don't care much for cancelling someone, who just said something that rubbed me the wrong way, though spreading hate is also not commendable and could potentially end up harmful to some groups, but cancelling someone because they are more conservative or whatever or just said something out of context in a reflex in some random interview somewhere, is so unnecessary.
People don't all have the same opinion. We need different opinions though. No one should have the right to cancel anyone. If it's not an arrest able offense, then trying to cancel people is gay.
