    A good tip is to also have some small solderwick. If you make a solder bridge on the SO-8 part, you can take some of the solder away with that stuff to remove the short. When you pull the solderwick away pull it along the pin away from the chip and not side to side.

    The pen style "white out" correction pens from Pentel (the best) make great permanent markers, better than anything I have ever used. Writes on coax jacket without any bleeding. I have some outside still very readable after 15 years in the sun and rain.

    Great series of videos and really inspiring--thanks for sharing! I've ordered boards and putting together a Mouser parts order. This is a great project for me as I have a similar situation with 7 acres of woods and traditional Beverages have been difficult to keep in operation, even at the 500-600 foot length.     An assembled unit is available from DX Engineering as the DXE-AVA-3. The dxe version uses a true trans amp vs a voltage amp in an inverting configuration. Be careful when combining these various buffers as some are inverting, hence 180 degrees out of phase.

    How important is it to be able to control the impedance of the board/traces when doing this? Are you using a calculator of some sort to keep it all ~75Ω or does it even matter at that small length in relation to the wavelength? The transformer and op amp input might not really even care, but I always wonder about that...I have a number of projects I have had made via JLC as well, but have never done anything with any kind of accuracy/impedance control required. The only Design Rules I use are just wider traces on power rails and ground-flood where it makes sense.

      Hi Bob!
      I will "occasionally" calculate a trace width to impedance match whats required, but I'm not sure its very critical on the low frequencies we are using.
      There are a number of good on-line tools available. I have used this one a few times: impedance.app.protoexpress.com/?appid=UNSEIMPCAL

    Steve, have you ever seen anyone run a BoG through a garden hose or equivalent? Or something even more inexpensive? Something that lets you run the BoG right on the ground, but without the overhead of dealing with fallen logs and such. I have plenty of fallen trees and log to work with but it also some open fields. Faster deployment/removal and easy relocation would be the main benefits but performance closer to the ground is the main concern.
