It's 2024 and its nearing a decade since this song and many others like it were released, and man do I feel nostalgic for it. The era of vaporwave is essentially gone but it will always have a special place in my heart. I'll always yearn for those late nights when I was a young man staring at the stars listening to saint pepsi, HOME and many others, contemplating where I'm going and what I want to do with my life. They always seem to bring me back to that nostalgic place :)
I actually discovered vaporwave just a few months ago so I feel like I've been on an excavation. Missed the boat when it was sailing. You really have to curate your collection if you don't want 90% of it to be slowed-down preexisting 80s music with lyrics, with some glitches here and there to freshen it up a bit.
no genre of music has ever made me just completely imagine myself in a different place. when I listen to stuff like this, I feel so relaxed, I feel like I'm not a depressed piece of shit and the reality that this music creates for me is one I never want to leave ever. its to the point where i'm not even hearing the music, I'm just so lost in a world of neon color and nostalgia and its the most soothing feeling in the world. as I listen to this, I actually feel like I matter in this little world I've created. everything within this world is so beautiful and it hurts when the song ends because i have to leave that world for this one full of ugliness and melancholy. Vaporwave is my escape and I absolutely need it.

Listening to this is a rollercoaster of emotions for me now. I was 15 at the time when I found this song, just a freshman in high school. I would always listen to this one my way to class after walking my high school sweetheart at the time to her class. I was always so conflicted with my emotions at the time. Emotionally I was a wreck. I remember wanting to just jump into this image so badly, just escape to the beach that everyone in this picture is at. Now here I am, 20 years old. In a relationship (with a different girl now) that I feel is no good. And as I look at this picture again, years later, I still wish I could jump into this picture and enjoy the day at the beach with everyone else in it. This song just brought me one of the richest and most interesting feelings I've ever had. It's like drinking the most dense, flavourful milk-shake made from the best chocolate there is. It might be too cold and hurt your brain a little, but it doesn't matter, because it has the most interesting and awesome flavour and texture you've ever experienced. You just can't stop drinking; and you keep remembering it afterwards. After listening to it a couple of times I literally just sit in my balcony for hours starring at the city and the awesome dark clouds above it... watching the rain come. Doing nothing but contemplating.
And I also watched Steins Gate the day before... Which relates heavily to this thing of having someone care and worry about you. I highly recommend watching this anime BTW. It's on UA-cam. Peace.

This song just brought me one of the richest and most interesting feelings I've ever had.
It's like drinking the most dense, flavourful milk-shake made from the best chocolate there is.
It might be too cold and hurt your brain a little, but it doesn't matter, because it has the most interesting and awesome flavour and texture you've ever experienced. You just can't stop drinking; and you keep remembering it afterwards.
After listening to it a couple of times I literally just sit in my balcony for hours starring at the city and the awesome dark clouds above it... watching the rain come. Doing nothing but contemplating.
And I also watched Steins Gate the day before... Which relates heavily to this thing of having someone care and worry about you. I highly recommend watching this anime BTW. It's on UA-cam.
