I own a 2021 Trike in Billiard Red. It’s a beautiful Trike and I get great compliments all the time when I’m out on the road. The best things I enjoy about my Trike is comfort, stability, and storage space. In my opinion it’s the ultimate touring machine.
I'd agree with your opinion about it being the ultimate touring machine. I can't imagine anything being better for touring. Also, I can imagine how many great compliments you get. If I'm ever fortunate enough to run into you, you'll get more compliments from me.
Great video. Thank you for addressing the misconceptions about who likes to ride a trike. I am 75 and still enjoy my two wheel bike. I also enjoy my Tri Glide Ultra because my wife can go on rides with me again. She was not comfortable on two wheels, but she loves the trike.
We got a 23 Freewheeler(Vivid Black) last year, Just before the RG3’s came out. You’re correct on the customization part, and all it takes is money LOL. We’ve updated all lights to LED’s (Custom Dynamics) along with their Magic strobe for brake lights. A windshield was what I also wanted. Just put on a new Mustang seat, and there’s other things we want to do but we can wait for those. I was away from 2 wheels since the early 90’s and it was actually my wife that helped me make up my mind(bad knees, and back at 72 changed my mind) on the trike. We love it, and as the steering goes there’s no problems at all. As for curves I never outride my capabilities, or the trikes. Great video, and thanks for bringing more trikes to the fore.
I bought my very first Bike/Trike last year. A 2008 Electra Glide with a Hannigan conversion with mechanical reverse. There ain’t another one like it here in Tucson,Arizona, which makes me feel pretty badass riding down the road😆 I’m 51 and have no disabilities,I just wanted a Trike. I’ve always loved them since I saw my first one in my friends front yard back in the 70’s. His dad had a chopper trike he built with the fattest tires in the back and as a kid seeing that I just fell in love instantly.
My first exposure to trikes was in 1974 when I saw two Oklahoma Highway Patrolmen going south on !-35 near Oklahoma City on Harley-Davidson Servicars. I immediately thought those trikes were the coolest thing I'd ever seen and wanted one ever since. It took another 44 years but I finally bought a Tri Glide in 2018. I love it and wouldn't trade it for any other motorcycle.
That's a great story and thank you so much for sharing. I hear from a lot of trike owners that wouldn't go back to anything else. I'm also very glad that after 44 years you finally got one. I imagine that is a very satisfying feeling.
Great topic. Although I am still good to go at 64 on two wheels, I have thought about trying a trike out. The stability when my wife is riding with me is what I am thinking about. Stay safe.
Go for it! I'm going to guess that you have a demo days at your local harley shop. You might be able to try one there, Jim. I'm glad you're still good on 2 wheels though.
When the knees gave out my wife and I went to a tri glide. Best thing we ever did. We have a 2018 tri glide for our summer home. We have a 2014 tri glide for our winter home. Everybody should have two. Exciting review of the tri glide. You don't have to be old to own one. By owning one it will keep you young.
I agree with you, they are super BAD ASS! I am 75yrs old and I still ride on two wheels but I would really love to have a HD Trike because they are so cool looking.
I have a 2022 Tri Glide and it is awesome. My wife insisted i buy a trike because she was not comfortable getting on 2 wheels. It is very comfortable, with a few mods it's really awesome.
That's cool. I love to see a husband and wife getting out on the road together. Also, trikes are a great way to do that. I'm very glad you find it to be awesome. I hope you can put on many miles and make many happy memories together.
Sarah and I rode a tire this summer. It was interesting and I could see us getting one in the future when a two wheeler gets to much to handle. Great video Codger!!
I have a 2015 Tri Glide. I spent my whole life on two wheels. I DO have diabetic neuropathy. So in order to keep my wife riding with me, I needed a trike. It was the best decision I’ve made in a long time. The Tri Glides are huge fun and super comfortable on long trips.
Sir, I am absolutely sorry that you have medical issues, however I am very pleased and happy that you can keep riding with your wife. Also, I am very glad that you enjoy your trike so much.
Rode a two wheel for 35 years now switched to a trike 9yrs ago.I am 86 and still riding. When you are on a two wheel and start thinking or fearing about putting your feet down when coming to a stop; look at a trike
I just put a CSC conversion on my 2013 Ultra Classic .. I can still ride 2 wheels.. But I wanted a Trike so I can better enjoy the long rides (500-miles plus) .. short rides around the mountains in WV, A Honda ST1300 is fun to ride through the mountains.. But when I want to just enjoy the ride, I can store everything I need on a stable frame.. 3 wheels doesn't make you feel top heavy.. My 2013 Ultra Classic CSC Trike.. this year will take me from WV to Winslow AZ and all along Route66 back to WV.. I wouldn't think of riding anything else.. The comfort is like sitting on my favorite recliner
That is an awesome story. I love the sound of the ride you are going on with your trike. Someday maybe I will be able to afford a trike. I would love to have one. I think I would feel the same as you about it.
You can try one Neil. They are not that much different. A little bit to get used to , sure but for the most part they make you feel like you're on 2 wheels. I personally wouldn't ride one in the snow on purpose but I imagine there are people that do.
They certainly do that. I recently moved from Alaska where there are trike clubs that ride all winter. Wet roads, loose gravel, sand on the pavement, etc. are all dramatically less problematic on a trike.
I have a 22 Freewheeler because in 2020 I had a Road King and was hit by a pickup truck, my options were a trike or walk, let me tell you, after a few mods, the Freewheeler is AWESOME.. I'm glad I went this route
I am also very glad you went this route Mac. There's nothing like being in the breeze and it does my heart good to know you can still get out there. Cheers!
I hav a 2020 trike and just got back from the tail of the Dragon and i can say i had a blast. You can ride it aggressively with a little practice and keep up with most anyone on two wheels.
Personally my perfect garage would be a Sport Glide and a TriGlide but I think it could be difficult switching between them as they're so different when riding. When I go to trike I think I'll have to do it 100%.
Trikes aren’t a new thing. The reason why “real” bikers talk shit about trikes is because all the cool points that bikes have are hard earned due to the level of danger they come from. Trikes aren’t gonna be cool until they’re used in a dangerous way…. With that said, I don’t give a fuck, trikes are cool
Haha re discover the early Servicar with the good forever 45 cubes flathead and the trouble free 3 gears plus reverse hand shift... time has changed, Dylan said.👍👏👏👏👏👏
I own a 19 Triglide and thought I couldn’t be happier. Than the anniversary model came out. Holy crap on the paint setup. Loved it so much,Friday was dealer and ordered mine. Anyone out there thinking out it better order it because that’s the only way to get it. Out of all anniversary models being made, there only will be **1100** trikes in anniversary model made. Roadking will be 3000 and lowest to trike is street glide at 1500. 🎉😊
It's cool to hear that you are getting one of the anniversary models. It will be such a rare and cool thing to have. Also thank you for the much better information regarding these models.
Yea I'm a triker and love the hell out of it it's 1996 Electraglide ultra classic with Frankenstein trike conversion it is bad ass haha it's in Frankenstein pic on the www stotts trike ! My knees r shot so don't think I can handle conventional bike , the trike does it for me even if my knees were good I would still ride the trike it rides like on rails even in the rain is not scary. Get behind the window and go chase that rain storm believe cover it's incredible ride
I am 55 and very healthy. I ride a Road King Special BUT I also ride a 2015 Tri Glide simply because it is absolutely awesome. Road Kings are usually great bikes and are very comfortable but my trike rocks. My wife loves the trike for longer trips. Don't fall for this senior bike bs out there. Get yourself a trike and enjoy it like we do.
That's a great question. In my video I talked about the Anniversary edition of the Tri Glide Ultra being limited to 1500. Is that what you're referring to? In any case I'll ask around about the Freewheeler. If they are limiting production on that model I would guess it's because there's less demand for that model. But I'll poke around and try to find out what the answer is.
My wife and I bought a new Tri Glide Ultra in 2021. Here this. After you pay the dealer base price, not MSRP but dealer price which will be at least $2000 more, you will put another $5000 into the ride for necessary upgrades including handle bars, front and rear suspension, exhaust and air box plus tuner. Enjoy
