As a white guy in the PNW as well, I very highly recommend coffee shops! I'm a regular at a lot around me and I've met tons of different kinds of people. If you go, plan to hang out there a while instead of just getting a drink to go. And go to the same place frequently and around the same times as you'll met the regulars who are doing that too. I'm not from around here either and I've found this to be a great way to build up my social circle. Coffee culture out here is huge too so that's an instant ice breaker.

Hi all! Just a friendly reminder from a post I made a few weeks back. I will be deleting all comments that involve soliciting dates/meet ups on my platform. Please do not share your personal information. While I love the camaraderie within this community please remember that internet communications via UA-cam are not a safe place to solicit yourself or others for romance. You do not know who is on the other side of the name and icon and regardless of what their comment shows you do not know their true intentions for you. This especially applies to my ladies. I don’t mean to be harsh but if encouraging you to prioritize your safety and protect my platform is harsh, then so be it. I hope you all understand and be well!❤

As a white man I have a few suggestions, which given the current state of social media trends many people may be overlooking - gyms. But I'm not talking traditional gyms; I thinking more along the lines of yoga, tai chi, Zumba, or even boxing gyms. I personally joined a Title Boxing gym 4 years ago and have noticed that female members almost always outnumber the male members at every class I attend. The majority of the trainers/coaches are female also. There are members of all ages and ethnicities that attend and at my club there is a very social vibe, members show up early to chat with other members often. Now having made this suggestion I do have a question to ask, but because there will be a lengthy back story I will put it in a second comment.

A friend of mine took how to classes at a Home Depot several years ago in order to learn different home improvement skills. In her case it was how to cut and install floor tiles. She learned a good, usefull and cost cutting skill in order to facilatate her own home improvement. She also told me that she met several very nice guys, which she was not expecting but was pleased that she did. I think she told me that these classes take place on weekends and their a variety of skills to choose from. Her tile work turned out great by the way. Best wishes to you ladies. This is funny. Wayyyy back in the 1980's I had a black girlfriend when it was "controversial". I wan't particularly into black girls; I just liked her. We were in college together and I just wanted to be around her. We got stared at EVERYWHERE. We went to one (mainly white) dance club to have drinks..... I hate dancing.... I mean I like watching people dance but I don't like doing it. I don't know if it's this way now but back then when we went to a black club on a different night nobody looked twice. It was only the white people who seemed to have a problem. I imagine (hope) it's different now. It didn't work out between us but I don't regret anything. It's a nice memory. I'm happily married now; but if I was single I wouldn't care about race.

    Hello Amanda,
Thank you for making me laugh. The other dance 💃🏽 you might want to try is ballroom dancing. I went two years ago ago for the second time, it was fun.
I met the amazing woman I'm with on a dating app. She's from South Africa, and she's told me that she doesn't care about race as long as the person is honest and up front about what they want from a interracial relationship. She is highly educated and just loves my dumb country ass because of how she sees me loving and caring about family. I was just wondering if you might be able to make a video along those lines?
Amanda, thank you for your advice, and please keep doing the great job you are doing. I'm happy for you and your new relationship. I'm really hoping this is the one that makes you happy for the rest of your life. Be well and take care.

I always recommend dating apps as a starting point! I have many girl friends of different races and all have said men just don’t approach that often in person so it’s not necessarily due to race. But, if you’re completely opposed I would recommend going to events such as karaoke nights, dance classes, meet up groups, etc. wishing you all the best of luck! 💕✨

As someone who has watched many of your videos I was hoping to get has feedback/advice because I have met someone at my gym that I really enjoy being around, but I'm stuck in my own head. I can't figure out if she's also interested or just being nice. I'll try not to make this too long of a post be here is some background - 4 years ago I joined a Title Boxing gym and have been an active member throughout, during one of our special holiday 12 round classes for New Year's Eve morning I noticed a new female member. In between rounds I noticed she kept taking her gloves off and rubbing her hands, after one of those rounds we locked eyes for a moment and she smiled at me. After the class was over I made the decision to approach her to make sure that she did not hurt herself (I typically try to help some of the new members since there is usually only one trainer). At this point I found out that she's been a member for awhile but she just hadn't boxed in a few months and she wrapped her hands too tight. Since that class we spend a fair amount of time talking before, after, and sometimes even during class. I'm trying really hard to pick up on if there are any signals there, some of the things I've noticed are - when talking about different types of hand wraps she grabbed my hand to compare my wraps to her's (so the touch barrier was broken, but that has been the only time she's done so), she knows that I'm an adult college student and has asked about my final exams, sometimes she chooses the punching bag right next to me (sometimes she does not), and during the 1 minute breaks we have between each 3 round workout she likes to dance to the music (this never fails to bring a smile to my face). Also we often tend to talk inside after all the other members have left and the gym staff is already starting to clean. Now the question I have is this "is she actually showing interest or is this just her outgoing personality and/or is she just being nice"? Here is why I ask if she's just "being nice". One of the last classes we took together we had a new member who was taking his first class. I could tell after a couple of rounds that he was getting really tired and I was keeping an eye on him to make sure he was alright. She obviously noticed it too, because at one point he went to sit on one of the benches to catch his breath. After a few moments she approached him to check on him. After the class the new member introduced himself to both her and I, she explained how she is a nurse and that is why she checked on him. She gave him some sound advice as he left - "stay hydrated, drink plenty of water" that sort of thing. So this is where I'm at, I'm trying to figure out if she's being nice to me also or is there some interest there. I'm also not entirely sure how to approach a black woman (and I know that's a weird statement to make) but she is someone I really like and really don't want to do anything to mess this up. My thought is to simply ask her if she would like to join me for a smoothie (since there is a smoothie shop just down the street from the gym) after the next class we both attend. I apologize for the length of this post but I would appreciate any advice and I will end by saying "Thank You" in advance.

    • @AmandaAwakens
      @AmandaAwakens  Рік тому +5

Jake, I appreciate you providing me context and sharing your experience! You seem like such a lovely guy. What I would say is just ask her for the smoothie. If I were here and I was interested, I would be super happy to go with you to get a drink and even if I wasn't romantically interested, I either would still get the drink with you because you're such a nice guy OR worst case, I would say no, but I wouldn't be offended and it wouldn't prevent me from still engaging with you at the gym. This is of course just my personal opinion. I want you to do what feels comfortable for you, but do so within limits. What we want usually lies on the other side of our comfort zone. I am rooting for you! Be well.

Alright since there are a few requests for updates this is what's up. She was at the gym yesterday and as usual we spent some time socializing before and after class. While we were chatting, after class, the 2 trainers even chatted with us. One of those trainers just recently ran a short marathon and she talked bout how much she doesn't like running, it was just a fun conversation. However, during class I did get a text from a friend and coworker who's having a rough time right now (and since I'm going to school to study psychology) I was a tad divided on what to do next. So I did not ask her out - yet. I know, I know - it sounds like a weak excuse but after talking yesterday I think I'm really starting to sense a vibe there. So I'm fairly certain I'll see her next weekend (or at the very least during our special 12 round class on Memorial Day). As of right now my goal is to ask her if she's like to join me for that smoothie after the next class that I see her at.

Dating apps, events, and word of mouth really are the only ways in which we meet people. The ultimate key to the dating world is having patience. There's really no "cheat code" or "fast track" so to speak. Continue with the dating apps, taking breaks when needed, keep your profile fresh and updated and authentic, and in the offline world make sure that you are putting yourself out there as often as you can. This includes golf courses, dance classes, blacksmithing classes, axe throwing, bowling, karaoke bars, etc.

@Demi G yes! I would recommend Bumble and Hinge. And according to the research done by two dating coaches that I follow, the key to “break” the algorithms for this dating app is to always swipe right on the most “attractive” profiles. Essentially, only swiping right for a prolonged period of time on the profiles (that may even seem “out of your league”) will eventually trick the algorithm into seeing you as one of those high value profiles and will boost your visibility on the apps and provide you a greater chance of finding you someone you’re most compatible with. I tried this for a week and a half, and literally met my now boyfriend a week later and was getting far better matches than I had been in comparison to the matches I had been shown for months on end. 💕✨

Aren't you part of the human race.... Different color doesn't mean your a different human race... Just a different Concentration of melanin in your skin...
I'm kinda tired of people using were a different race because our skins a different damn concentration of melanin.
Sorry just irritates me. Hopefully you find your different grade of melanin toned dude

Well of course this is true lol and I say in all my videos that race is a social construct with no real biological merit. With that being said, we can still talk about how this social construct creates dynamics in love and romance without discounting the fact that it’s irrelevant ultimately. 💕✨

Dear black women, be forward, most white guys are not like me most will sit back and admire you from afar. Go up to them and let them know you like them, and they are yours forever

This is a really difficult truth for many women to swallow. I always try to encourage women to not be afraid of making the first move/being more direct but maaaaaaaany women do NOT want to do this. Perhaps your comment will inspire more but we'll see lol.
