Yesss you guys went to the 2 best restaurants in Sydney right now! At Ho Jiak I also love their lobster mi goreng. And I do think the Haymarket one is better than the Town Hall one. People definitely wait over an hour for this place.
Everything was amazing but please!!!! The technique for the french toast : use a fork to poke holes on the top the rub that beautiful butter around until melts then dig in XO
Holy shitttttt Ho Jiak looked amazing 🥰🥰 definitely will be checking out both places whenever I go to Sydney next xx as usual love you guys and thank you for sharing some must eats
Hi chonny!! Glad you enjoyed the malaysian food over there 😍💗 Love how he used our EID celebration song on the background during they eating malaysian food😍 And for chicken rendang you mentioned its also our traditional and supple food to have when we celebrate EID, where you eat it with sticky rice (Ketupat) . Hope for the next time you will be able to visit Malaysia again and try our more authentic food 👍🏼
As a Malaysian from Penang this is funny because the Laksa you're eating is actually call "Curry Mee" here, It's a COMPLETELY different kind of noodle. Laksa varies from different region and the famous one imo is Penang's Asam Laksa which once rank No.7 in the world for best food in 2011.
because that's laksa nyonya. i personally think nyonya & sarawak laksa are curry mee hahaha😂 i prefer laksa utara doesn't matter from kedah, perlis or penang. if i want something coconutty, i can just get curry mee.
If you come back to Sydney again for Malaysian food, I would recommend Albee's Kitchen Campsie/Kingsford. All their food are quite close to authentic Malaysian food, you should try their Asam Laksa (they only sell it on certain days, Wed/Sat for Campsie).
The Malaysian food looked so DELICIOUS the laksa was DIVINE and the salted egg wings was yum too ..I am loving your Sydney vlogs Chonny and Dalena so glad you came to Sydney ..Your both amazing and I adore you 💕🥰❤️..x
In Melbourne they have some Good Hk Style restaurants:shop house kitchen in Qv, Pacific Bbq on Lonsdale St. Lots of HK Style Cha Chaan Teng 茶餐廳have fusion dishes like the both of you are having
Next time (which will be my second time), I'll come with a friend and share the chicken wings, French toast, that big bread thing (I would like to know what's that called in Chinese) and curry fish balls. Red bean drink or Hong Kong tea coffee drink (yin yang) as a drink. Your friend's (the owner) recommendations are great. I'm going for most of what you both had for lunch. It's been nearly two months since I last visited Kowloon Café. P.S.: Janice Fung introduced me to Kowloon Café (before the first time I went there) through her food vlogs on UA-cam.
Greetings from Malaysia!! I am glad you guys finally taste our Malaysian cuisine!! So good right?! Do come to Malaysia and more good food!! Cheers guys..and take care
as a Malaysian im proud that our food is getting recognized by others.......food definitely makes people aroud the world comes together as one hehe ...luv ur video as usual...love from Malaysia🇲🇾❤️🇦🇺
Nice to see you guys out and about! Love your guys channel, hope to see you guys in Hawaii as soon as they lift more travel restrictions! Aloha from Hawaii!🌴🌈🌞😎🤙🏽
G’day from Australia Robin! It’s over 10 years since I visited Hawaii and I really want to come back, bring my husband and daughter to show them. Aloha 🤙
$20 per dish omg in perth we have a big malaysian community and those kinds of dishes go for $11 to $15 each. when covid gets better yall should come to perth and i'll recommend you some restaurants!!! and of course go to malaysia too when covid is over.
I don't know why but when I see Dalena in the video clip image....she reminds me of Yuna from Itzy kpop band:) I have been to HK a couple of times and my breakfast is usually more English\UK style with battered fried fish, beans, tomato sausage etc. However everything at this restaurant looks delicious. I am a spam fan so the pineapple roll with egg sounds amazing. The omelette with pork also looked awesome. Hopefully the next time I go to HK I will be able to find breakfast food like this....otherwise maybe I will need to travel to AU
If you think Sydney has good Malaysian food, you have to come back to Melbourne for your Malaysian food. It's a Mile better here, trust me. PM me if you need suggestions.
I'm glad you find the right restaurant to represent Malaysian foods! I wish you could come to Malaysia when this pandemic is over and try every culture's food! Stay safe guys :)
hey chonny & dalena, any chance you could please tell me what song you used for the intro? i've wanted to know this for a few songs in your intros now, please consider linking the song names in your bio perhaps? tyty! :3
PS. LOL I commented right after Chonny’s “milky flower” comment, didn’t know Dalena was gonna explain the drink after hahaha 🤪 The pink drink at Ho Jiak is probably BANDUNG! Which is made from rose syrup and condensed milk hahaha thus Chonny’s “milky flower”. 🤣
It usually has to do with the economy. Places where there’s less economic growth will be cheaper to live but in turn they’re not paid as much; which is why prices are lower. The minimum wage is 1200 ringgits in Malaysia or 354.47 cad per month, and in BC Canada it’s 15.20 per hour so you’re making 2280 before taxes, 2152.32 after.
