I believe that sometimes, in some cases, SA cannot always be identified in autopsy but that doesn't mean it didn't happen. Just my opinion. Hope he rots painfully in prison.
For starters he should have been guilty of first degree murder!!! He waited until she was injured, alone, and brung gloves. The moment he decided to break in his intentions weren’t good! This was so heartbreaking to hear! The fact that he hurt that baby, took her life, yet he want to cry when the verdict was announced!!! 😡

The defense was really grasping at straws. A 12 year old girl, even trained in karate, can still be easily overpowered by a grown ass man. Touch DNA would not be lingering around the house or on her body unless they never cleaned or touched anything else. It's asinine for him to even protest his innocence.

He was likely so upset particularly at the guilty charge on the attempted rape of a child because he knows how fucked he is once he gets back to prison. protective custody or outright solitary, or if they leave him in general population he's going to get the shit beat out of him regularly for the rest of his life. He deserves it for sure, but the gravity of that particular conviction must have hit really hard

This horrific crime happened only about 2 miles from house. I never many people that lived there and I recall the disbelief that something so terrible could happen there. Her trailer sat very close to the road and I never pass by without thinking of her and her family. Ever.

I'm not sure they see her as a child at that age, but more as a teenager. Unfortunately, most men who are in jail and dangerous enough to be violent to other prisoners are mysogynistic and often times rapists or pimps themselves. I don't think they really care that much to punish rapists and pedophiles.

They are not all completely heartless and not all of them have committed a crime towards a woman or child and they DO NOT like this at all. They may have children of they own that they can't be with and things like this scare them too.

Why didn’t they interview that guy in the first place? The text said “I think it was the guy who trims tree at the door” right? If I would be the detective I would have interviewed this guy straight away.
First of all please, someone explain to me why a person convicted of murder is allowed to make a statement? It makes my blood boil that they are allowed to run their mouth. If they are going to be allowed to speak it should only be once a judge has approved a written statement of apology, owning their crime. Otherwise, shut up and get to your cell.
And when he says, “the real perpetrator is being denied their ability to own their MISTAKE” screams his guilt. I’m sorry knowing a defenseless child is alone and not leaving after knocking and getting no response and CHOOSING to break in by climbing through a window then terrorizing and murdering a child and then having the nerve to call it a MISTAKE. I hope the people he is in jail with make a lot of “mistakes” with him. This one was a tough one to hear. But great work as always.

That's what I thought, at the start before mentioning him, when she said pants down but no evidence of rape, I thought, 'ok, so he's impotent or it's an angry female!'
I feel so bad for this child, she deserves so much more in life. I pray for the family, especially the mom, she did everything possible to keep her family safe, and her sister for finding her in their bedroom.
One side of me says he deserves the same thing or worse to happen to him. Then, my faith says taking a life shouldn't be our choice. All in all, I hope justice is served and he can never hurt anyone ever again and i know one day Roy will face his judgement day.
Yhoana, though i wish was still here with her family, will never be hurt again, and is safe from monsters like Roy.

I don't know how a mother survives this. The worst possible thing you can do is hurt a child. Personally speaking, I don't know that I could keep going, this is literally the worst thing I can ever imagine happening. I sincerely hope her mother has found solace in the love of her other children and I have a strong faith and I know she will be reunited with her beautiful daughter again and I hope she knows that too. This country takes zero common sense preventable measures. There are plenty of qualified people who can plainly recognize symptoms of all variations of psychcopothy and take appropriate measures to get these people well away from the public. He didn't start being a psychotic pervert murderer at the age of 42. It began well before the age of 6. The way we have things set up is completely nonsensical with monsters like this behind every corner and horrific cases like this every single day.

Didn't you say that cops collected cigarette butt at crime scene? They should've done DNA (saliva) comparison from that butt with the cigarette he was smoking during interactions with cops.

Roy Junior was really stupid, having guilt knowledge of crime details not available to the public. DNA on her body = shaking hands? That would be really funny under other circumstances. I think it is so dangerous for young people to think karate skills are a match to an adult who is unhinged. She would have tried to fight back. As you said, she was injured & he was bigger. My husband taught myself & kids a few self defense 'moves'. Eye gouging and temporal blows. However, first & foremost he taught us how to get away. I understand that will more often than not, be of no use though.

I keep wondering what his motive was. I know he did it but if he didn’t sexually assault her why do what he did. I’m sure it wasn’t a robbery.
