Hey Randy!! The kia has a recalled motor!!! Covered under warranty. They're known to seize up from a manufacturer defect. Buy it and you'll get a free engine from kia!!!! Happened to me! Like so everyone can see !!!!
Had an experience with a terrible smelling insurance auction car that came in to a shop I worked in.. My first impression was that some hog farmer had been driving it with his nasty boots on.. But nope. Later discovered the source was an immensely swollen 2lb bag of hashbrowns under a seat! Probably slid under there during the accident that led the car to being towed to insurance processing etc. Man was I nervous removing that puffed up bag from that car! WEEHhwwwee!!!
That Packard is awesome!we have a local Packard club n an awesome museum abt 45 min away from where I live of which Jay Leno has visited..a true collectors item n I'm sure somebody would love to own n restore!
Thank you for showing that Packard, Randy. The first time I ever sat in a professional car was a 1948 Henny Packard Ambulance. I was hooked from there. I have had many over the years and am always looking for more. A buddy of mine back in the '80's had a 1949 Henny Packard Landau Hearse. The car was black with purple mohair interior and, get this, hydraulic windows from the factory. The car had 30,000 miles on it and was 36 years old. What a beast to drive with no power steering. That Packard here got bid up to $10,250 and was sold on approval, but I doubt it sold. It is a shame somebody did all those modifications to it as it was perfect when it rolled out of the Henny factory.
I Just did a quick search for Packard Wagons, most of them use to have wooden side panels, I saw one for sale at $58,000.00 but that was a fully restored show room quality one with all original parts, this one show maybe is worth some where around 7500.00 to 10,000.00 i think but that's just a guess....
I had a knock like that in my Mercury mountaineer and the knock went away on my way home but my check engine light was still on. Here the center of one of my spark plugs fell out in the cylinder. I got lucky and it didn't damage anything but I had to replace the spark plugs. That was last year around this time. A year later and it's still running good.
Yeah but that isn't something you can check out at an auction. they would have a fit taking it apart to check. Once the center of mine broke up and came out the exhaust then it went away. Luckily it bend a valve on the way out.
I have read that Henney was the body builder for Packard, and made their hearses, ambulances, limos and custom cars. I believe they were exclusive to Packard and when Packard ended it wasn't good for Henney.
I have a good story about that gen of Thunderbird too. I was selling Ford Lincoln Mercury vehicles at the time and a guy comes in and wants to look at one. It was a 2005 50th Anniversary. He drove it, loved it, when we got him into the box he said “I want to put $5000 down and pay no more than $635 a month.” The car at full sticker price plus every add on we could add (maintenance, warranty, gap, credit life) was $618/mo with his down payment. Made like $1500 commission on that one.
Rust Belt. I used to live in Chicago. Everyone has two cars. An older one for winter driving and a newer one for summer driving. That way you have a good newer car without rust.
$20K for the Packard would be a down payment - it would cost three times that to bring it into good condition. My Dad had a Packard sedan which I was able (at age 3!) to put in neutral and coast down the driveway about 30 feet and into the corner of the garage. Knocked the garage off its foundation and barely dented the bumper on the Packard. I wasn't left alone in cars after that.
There’s something called OnStar FMV, you can find brand new ones on eBa for around $20 and it lets you add OnStar to any modern car eg. Toyota, Hyundai, etc. and have all the same features as a GM car with it
So one of two things happened. Either Copart let you use your Battery booster or they have the exact same one. Cause it’s been in the past 6 videos or so.
That jeep is epic.im pretty sure he purposely kept in in frame long enough to generate interest. But because it's undoubtedly a fatal he probably won't show it
That mk6 golf gti has a timing chain which is known to stretch which causes the chain to skip a teeth and the cilinders hit the valves and than you have to replace the cilinder head and if worse the timing chain breaks and you have to replace the whole engine, there fun to drive tho
What randy didn't realize is that most of those wires were add ons. That car from the factory had almost no wires on it. I am sure all those wires can be removed and the car would be fine.
The red golf GTi is a chain driven engine but the pre 2011 cars have issues with the timing chain tensioners which fail and then destroy the engine which is probably what happened to that red one you showed
Hi Randy, been checkin out the channel for a while. I appreciate the content on the rebuilds. Its what you do. But id also like to suggest adding more rare.and specialty cars to your vids when you can. Like the Packard and the theft Ferrari. I know you do add some but some of us use you vids to get a better look at inventory @ okc. Last but not least, keep adding carnage. Some of us are intrigued as to what happened, while it reminds others to be safe. Its real easy to easy to reach 150 in a vette or gt-r. Thank you.
All right Randy unfortunately there is not any jump points under the hood there is a trunk release behind the driver seat somewhere you put the key in and Pop the trunk you turn the key towards the trunk but way that car looks I don't think that's going to work
Those bmw are double pull. One pull pops it up and pull again to release. There is no front hood latch on 2014 or newer. They started with the f30 bodies
Hey Randy in one of your videos you said that you want cars to have on star have you ever thought of a Pontiac Vive which is a Toyota and have a Toyota right liability with GM on store already built into it I figured that would be a good car for you
Could the GTI sell low enough to make it worth it for you to swap the motor? What was the hose along the firewall wrapped in heat foil? Is that a mod that was removed?
yes it did come from enid i was the owner of this car since 1990 and sold it last year the guy that bought it was selling it not even a week later for sky high price compared to what he bought it for i can rell you the history of this car and what i did to it jeff has no idea what i did to the car
hey Randy love the videos. I have been a subscriber way back when you fixed that Grey impala. Have you thought about buying cars from private party, kind of like what weird beard has been doing lately? You can get great deals that way as well.
In my humble opinion the Hyundai would have been a very suitable target both for content and for the purpose you had in mind. I have had many, many Hyundai cars over the years and never a duff one
Saw a gti do that once was the injectors and the injector connectors the injectors were damaged but the car on a number of scanners didnt show the injector fault the guy spent a ton of money on everything till the last thing left to do was the injectors and once that was done the car was sorted running till now the symptoms were jerking, extreme loss of power and hard starting
You shouldn't really shy away from cars with limited body damage. If you can buy this for a super good price, WB can "Stud Weld" those dents out, fill, paint and put you back on the road ASAP! Go for it!
Hey Randy!! The kia has a recalled motor!!! Covered under warranty. They're known to seize up from a manufacturer defect. Buy it and you'll get a free engine from kia!!!! Happened to me! Like so everyone can see !!!!
Happened to me also
i know I'm kinda off topic but do anyone know of a good website to watch new tv shows online ?
@Wilder Gibson I would suggest flixzone. Just google for it :)
It’s so funny being a northerner and you guys freaking out about a little bit of rust. 😹
I know he watches South Main Auto channel. Now he has some real rust buckets! What Randy saw was just some mild patina.
That Packard is cool!
That Packard is the bomb man and it has a straight flat head 8. Damn!
errr - That'd be a STRAIGHT EIGHT brother - Flathead Packard
They run smooth as silk.
Thomas Smith The engine. It’s a straight eight flat head Packard engine
@@thomassmith6027 there's a wicked 55 looking for you.
that cookie looks scrumptious at 15:12 ! You should've had a bite, Randy!

Hearse would make an epic shop truck.
That's such a cool Packard! I was checking out what was in the OKC Copart lot, and I was hoping you'd show it off!
That Packard is awesome!we have a local Packard club n an awesome museum abt 45 min away from where I live of which Jay Leno has visited..a true collectors item n I'm sure somebody would love to own n restore!
I absolutely love those straight flat eight they sound so menacing
Thank you for showing that Packard, Randy. The first time I ever sat in a professional car was a 1948 Henny Packard Ambulance. I was hooked from there. Always love the Copart walk arounds and love seeing the great vehicles you guys get in the states 👍🏻😁....keep the great content coming 😊

That Golf has compression in like 1 out of 4 cylinders. Someone was definitively messing with it. An thats one hell of a knock on that Kia
Golf head gasket or more.
That would still be under warranty, wouldn't it?
I had a knock like that in my Mercury mountaineer and the knock went away on my way home but my check engine light was still on. Here the center of one of my spark plugs fell out in the cylinder. I got lucky and it didn't damage anything but I had to replace the spark plugs. That was last year around this time. A year later and it's still running good.
Them Kia and hyundai 2.4 gdi and 2.0 turbos are known for main bearing failure that cause knocking
Yeah but that isn't something you can check out at an auction. they would have a fit taking it apart to check. Once the center of mine broke up and came out the exhaust then it went away. Luckily it bend a valve on the way out.
really wanted to see the crushed jeep!
dang!
18:43 Someone is dying to buy that Packard Hearse.
I'm as dead as a doornail 😂😆
I have read that Henney was the body builder for Packard, and made their hearses, ambulances, limos and custom cars. I believe they were exclusive to Packard and when Packard ended it wasn't good for Henney.
That's a very interesting piece of history that I didn't know myself. I appreciate you sharing it. Thank you very much!

The car has “Rusty nuts”
Cool Packard 😀
Hyundai is a good buy if it's cheap. The Kia Sportage is part of the Hyundai/Kia recall lol
the battery is in the fenderwell like the dodge stratus
$20K for the Packard would be a down payment - it would cost three times that to bring it into good condition. Get the packard rebuild content would be great. Get it so it is drivable and clearcoat only. Fun factor worth it.

"Rust on the Nuts" doesn't sound pleasant! Have a nice weekend, Randy and chat
Man, nust on the ruts !
That gti has the timing chain after 2008 be switched over the the tsi motor which are chain driven
Auto Auction Rebuilds and funeral services?? Lol
If Randy were to get into the funeral business, I guarantee you that people would be dying to hire him.
@@brian5o I appreciate that style of humor, 😆👍 well done sir.
So one of two things happened. Either Copart let you use your Battery booster or they have the exact same one. Cause it’s been in the past 6 videos or so.
love those birds
I would definetly buy that packard, would be so cool to cruize with it here in sweden xD such a rare car and rare engine
the #1 coil was not seated all the way on the VW.
I'm wondering if some would be buyers don't disconnect stuff so cars won't start so they have a better chance of buying it cheap
Great video you never fail to amaze me with your content. That tbird as TK would put it that thing is TOASTY. That Packard is so cool.
Because you know deep down that the BMW is a actual rebuild and you want to do it lol. Keep up the amazing work brother.
The cars come from the dealerships with rust here in PA
Wow that's nuttz
If they drop the price on the hearse to $8,000-10,000 will you get it then?
agree. 20 is insane. 5k would be a decent buy.
Grat video dude, keep it up
4:13 Can you pls show us that jeep sometime? I really enjoy the carnage aswell.
Wild Gaming I was just thinking that
That jeep is epic.im pretty sure he purposely kept in in frame long enough to generate interest. But because it's undoubtedly a fatal he probably won't show it
Randy, your videos are really cool, i follow AAR from Monterrey, Mexico, regards!!
I owned a 49 packard touring with jump seats like driving a train
That mk6 golf gti has a timing chain which is known to stretch which causes the chain to skip a teeth and the cilinders hit the valves and than you have to replace the cilinder head and if worse the timing chain breaks and you have to replace the whole engine, there fun to drive tho
Oh Cut wires equals extreme electric gremlins and corners cut as well
What randy didn't realize is that most of those wires were add ons. That car from the factory had almost no wires on it. I am sure all those wires can be removed and the car would be fine.

The red golf GTi is a chain driven engine but the pre 2011 cars have issues with the timing chain tensioners which fail and then destroy the engine which is probably what happened to that red one you showed
On a new ish Beamer you need to pull the hood release twice, and there are no extra handles under the hood
Hi Randy, been checkin out the channel for a while. I appreciate the content on the rebuilds. Its what you do. could you a gps tracking on your cars cheaper then onatar
On the Hyundai, you can put your own tracking device on it relatively inexpensively. It looks like it needs a little massaging. 2,200 for it.
That packard was on Facebook market place awhile back sad to see it there was hoping someone got it and was driving it.
That sportage sounds like mine which was an '09 I am so glad I got rid of it
Cool Packard❤️
What’s up Randy and thank you for that awesome shout out on Instagram
Those gdi kia engines are covered under a recall for rod knock
That gti sounds just like the timing belt passat run away!!
I had a 1989 thunderbird supercharged with manual transmission
Randy, that GTI looks it has a methanol injection kit, the coils are an expensive upgrade, and I bet the turbo is a upgraded KO4.
Inline 8. Don’t see those anymore
Randy you can get a g.p.s. device that links the car to your cell phone.
That hearse so weird beard
that hearse can be a good camping car if you flip it all around
All right Randy unfortunately there is not any jump points under the hood there is a trunk release behind the driver seat somewhere you put the key in and Pop the trunk you turn the key towards the trunk but way that car looks I don't think that's going to work
Just cause it's a repo don't mean they don't take care of car. Heck people fall on hard times. I had a repo and took damn good care of my car.
@@mariarusso8239 good u
Carnage back, please!
I like the red thunderbird behind the kia sport
Randy the Mk5 and Mk6 GTI has a timing chain...
4-5 years ago 127 garage sales. One farm had 2 of those Packard hearses for sale. No titles and dilapidated condition . price was $3500 for the pair.
Hi randy
Great vido
That Hurst looks great and a very cool car
You can add onstar
For BMW you pull the release two times..
Those bmw are double pull. One pull pops it up and pull again to release. There is no front hood latch on 2014 or newer. They started with the f30 bodies
Could be wrong but I think its a straight six with dual plug?
Love the Packer way Kewl
Well Randy, Hyundai offers Blue Link on some of there models, which is similar to OnStar!!
Hey Randy in one of your videos you said that you want cars to have on star have you ever thought of a Pontiac Vive which is a Toyota and have a Toyota right liability with GM on store already built into it I figured that would be a good car for you
Don’t worry she’ll love the previous gen of Quest
There is not a hood release on that 328, just pull the hood handle twice and it is open.
Could the GTI sell low enough to make it worth it for you to swap the motor? What was the hose along the firewall wrapped in heat foil? Is that a mod that was removed?
Your looking at copart cars and faint cause you have to fix something?
Randy, the next John Clay Wolfe.
Get that packard if you can
Elantra is great, tavarish has some videos with one of the same year.
that is a very rare car and i know your trying to bild inventory for you lotebut i would love to see you work on another old car or truck
did the Packard come from Enid Oklahoma i saw one just like it for sale on facebook?

Thunderbird with V8 looks so cool..
That Bmw you have too pull twice on that hood release to open the hood
