Like how you left the lights on the Lincoln. Dead as a doornail.
I started a drinking game...I have to drink a shot every time he says, "dead as a doornail" I think I'm drunk.
Nice Lincoln. This came out when I was in 8th grade. My doctor, and a former boss each has a 73 Mark IV Silver Luxury Edition. Silver paint, silver top, cranberry red crushed velour upholstery.
Love it. My first upgrades would be a front camera so I could pull up at a stop light without rear ending someone LMAO and duel exhaust.
InsideOfMyOwnMind they have dual exhaust from the factory
@@jimsss222 ok. I only saw the one on the dr side.
Actually, @jimss222 and @InsideOfMyOwnMind, dual exhaust was optional from '74-'76; single exhaust was standard on Mark IVs.
Love the Lincoln. My dad bought a 78 continental brand new. A Givanchi series. Blue on blue and the smell of leather and cigars takes me back
That Lincoln is a beauty man love the classics
One of the best walk rounds you've done in my opinion you showed your love of motors especially the lincoln and how you made sure the door didnt damage the next car as you opened it,a proper motor traders way, thanks randy made my saturday night here in the UK
Did anyone notice the Black Indian bike with the tan seat?! I'm not even a biker but I'm in love❤❤❤
You are not wrong, that was a thing of beauty!!
Man that Lincoln continental speaks to me more then the Porsche. I just love classic cars.
Same. Everyone on YT seems to be doing 911 rebuilds right now. The Connie would have been something cool, quirky and different, and likely *much* easier to work on. Not enough classic salvage rebuilds.
Richard Edwards yes sir, I agree.
❤️the Porsche (& of course already know you got it!👍) .... but ❤️❤️❤️ that ‘73 Lincoln!! Back when a luxury car was pure luxury & build quality was second to none!
A cruise ship on wheels.
*The motor you are referring to that had all the problems was the oldsmobile Quad 4 and some had problems with the timing belt and belt guides but the biggest and most frequent issue that got everyone i know hating those motors was the head gaskets failing causing repeated, catastrophic engine failure. it affected the 87 - 91 oldmobile Calais,Cutlas Supreme, Pontiac Grand AM, Grand Prix, Buick Skylark and the Beretta LTZ with the Quad 4 engines in them. caused major recalls and caused those cars to get really cheap, really fast. I'm not a fan of that style Z24. HOWEVER, i simply LOVE the one i had it was a 1991 Cavalier Z24 in white with a 3.1L V6 5 speed. that thing was an ABSOLUTE rocket. it's supposed to take 5 1/2 hours driving above the speed limit to go from Knoxville to Memphis and back. and i used to do the trip in my Z24 in just a little over 3 hours. I got my boss worried about me doing that because we were working in Memphis replacing Bank computers for the Y2K scare and he flew out to Memphis for the day (30 minute flight usually) and worked with us then i took him to the airport in Memphis and dropped him off for his retun flight at 3AM then went back to the hotel and grabbed my stuff drove back to Knoxville and was sitting in the lobby waiting on him when he came in the office at 7AM He walked in, saw me and shook his head saying "My God boy, you're gonna kill yourself, I can't believe you made it back here that fast" he looked at me like i just stole his lunch or something when i told him i had been sitting in the lobby for an hour waiting on him so i could get my check. put it this way when we were short on computers i'm the one they sent back to Knoxville to get the others we needed. I sold my Z24 like an idiot to my wife's nephew. he had it for about 8 months and totaled it out on a rainy night by sliding off the road into a drain culvert. ever since then we've both been on the look out for another one in as good of a shape as that one and set up just exactly like the one we had. That 350Z is nice i'd drive that one happily! That Last Bike you are a little off on the name it's a Valkyrie GL 1500C (1520CC flat 6 cyl engine) 720 pounds, top cruising speed 131 mph 100HP liquid cooled engine. yeah that's a smooth cruiser but it's heavy too. Probably not a good starter bike lol There is a couple companies that make V8 powered bikes. one that comes to mind is Boss Hoss (i'll post a link below)* for a starter bike i wouldn't go much if any higher than 600CC my buddy tells me get a jap bike that doesn't cost much first to learn the fundementals on then when you've learned all you're going to sell what you got and buy the one you really want. he reccomends no less than a year of riding several times a week all year long before buying a bigger real bike.
ua-cam.com/video/-UkWDseXZzg/v-deo.html
The Porsche we allready saw that you bought it, the white 350z is nice also.
Randy, that Lincoln is a sweet, sweet classic. I noticed on the right side of the bumper a sticker indicating the Dept of Defense. With some of the papers you leafed through in the glove compartment saying Delaware, I wonder if it was owned at one point by a government employee. Too bad you cant trace it back. Perhaps a leading official employee. Who knows? Anyway, it might be cool to buy it. Put some big old bull horns in the front. Someone may just love it. Also, this was on Elvis's favorite cars. Gave away like 5 of them during one of his shopping sprees.
You have to push the turn indicator *forward* for tilt on the Lincoln (FYI)
I thought it was pull the indicator not push.
@@wadefarris308 on most cars, yes, but back in the day, on most Fords, it was push fwd
I own an original 72 Lincoln, I love it, that silver one is a beauty, rock solid 460, I would buy that :)
Porsche!!!!! Nice win
I like how so many people got but hurt over you winning it
Randy do a vin search and see if the Lincoln was the car Frank Cannon drove in the TV series.
Randy, with all the people who watch your channel, I'm guessing there are others who'd love to have the Lincoln. And I'll bet the 22.5 gallon tank would allow you to drive over 100 miles.
400miles my guess hwy .had a mk 3 10years rust was problem
The Honda Valkyrie is essentially a Goldwing (arguably one of the most esteemed touring motorcycle series out there) with all of the big storage compartments and bulky body pieces stripped off. Heavy bike, but handles "nimbly" not beyond a relative novice (especially this version without all of the Goldwing 'bulkiness'. That engine is a dream, designed to go 200,000 miles (car like). That vintage (the 1500 cc) did have an issue with 4th to 5th gear transmission shift fork problems, most at 65,000 miles or more. Great bike for the freeway and wide open spaces in Oklahoma (big city, maybe not so much). They hold resale value well, lots of them on the road so parts, service common, big following so lots of good stuff on the interweb. Do your comparison price homework so that you don't pay too much out of the chute, and you can't go wrong.
and big plus you would look good on it
I drove a 74' Mark 4 for years and just loved it! I rebuild the motor as a 429, cuz I had a 429, and the C6 Trans... And what a Hi-Way car :) Randy... Buy the Lincoln!
@@thomassmith6027 The 429 / 460 was a Lima motor... Isn't the Boss 429 an FE motor??
They have an aftermarket upgrade for the IMS Bearing which feeds it oil from a line on the oil filter adapter. The shop only needs to make a minor notch in the engine aluminum to let the oil line out from the bearing.
I wouldn't let that Lincoln get away. It's not every day you see a 73 Mark IV in that good of condition.
eatont9999 right? It’s near perfect! That car is old! It’s in amazing shape! Probably the stereotypical old person who didn’t drive it much
Wow that Lincoln, that is beautiful. I would take that in 1 second man. It is ridiculously straight. I wonder why its there
Owner probably passed away, and their family didn't want it. That's how I got my 2000 Town Car.
My grandfather had a Lincoln just like that. It rides like you are on a cloud.
That Lincoln was what Muddy drove in Beavis & Butt-Head Do America!
Looks like you just left the lights on in the Lincoln...
The tilt on the Lincoln is the same lever as the turn signal. Just pull towards you.
Love that cavi z24! One thing to note as well besides the usual chain guides, the LD9 "Twin Cam" Quad 4 is also known to have issues with its IDI system. The coil housings tend to go bad, causing crossfiring between the coils and thus a loping misfire. In general though these engines are totally solid! I've always loved the Quad 4, especially the LG0 and LG0 W41 "High Output" variants of the late '80s and '90s!
Randy I just love the walk walk around that you can't wait to see him every time they come on
Randy, in Biloxi, Ms look up “Cruisin the Coast”. That Lincoln and your ole Chevy would sell so fast down here during that week!!!
Grandpa’s car 🚗 Memories of riding in a big ole land yacht!! The CB radio is priceless as well as the seatbelts and the lift down plant! Miss the days of cruising with my grandpa that as passed on! Showing my age!!
Randy: the Mark 4!!! What an iconic car.
Buy It!! Don’t hesitate!!!
Don’t diddle doddle on your decision!!!
Great content!!
Cheers
I like porsches but man I'd take that Lincoln any day over a Porsche! I love old cars like that.
I recognized the thumbnail of the Lincoln right away cuz it was one I saw on Copart and thought it was totally a Randy car. Plus it looked really good in the pictures.
I love that Lincoln I had a 72 like that one and loved it we had a flood it got caught in after that it was pretty much done I dried it out and got it running but wasn't right after that I would love to see that on the channel and the porch
I like that you’re showing different cars, trucks, bikes and other things, but I would recommend you show more classics
Randy can we see more old American cars please
Agreed. I know he likes trucks but he needs to throw us lovers of big body-on-frame sedans and personal luxury coupes a few crumbs too!
Dude ! You must buy that Lincoln and drive it around everyday. My first car was a 77 LTD, love those boats, oh and please stay away from the murder cycles, we love you to much.
I thought the boxster was the most hated Porsche! :) That Lincoln hood is about as long as a Honda Civic.
That ‘73 Lincoln does not deserve to be at Copart. I hope it finds a loving home. It’s beautiful
22 1/2 gallon tank - probably 8 or 9 mpg around town and maybe 12-13 on the highway. My '74 Gran Torino had a 400 V8 and a 26 1/2 gallon tank. I could get 15 - 16 on a trip if I was careful. The Lincoln is awesome, even if it has 131K on it and not 31K. There are plenty of us out there that would love to have one of these. Back in the late 80's, a fellow I knew picked up a '77 Continental with 60K on it for $500. Owner just wanted it gone. At first, he was going to clean it up, fix a couple of things and then sell it. But someone came along and offered him $1000 for it and he took it. I always regretted I didn't make him an offer.
Randy, on older Fords, Mercs, and Lincolns, the turn signal and the tilt wheel share the same stalk.
Beautiful car! Lincoln is easily the best american luxury brand😍
Pretty sure you could park at least a Smart Car on the hood of that Lincoln with no problem! I had a 71 Monte Carlo back in the day, and the hood on that was just about as long. Damn thing would overheat after coming off the expressway. Too long a shroud - there was about two feet between the radiator and the fan!!
Love the 911. The color is NICE! The 911 is a dream car I would love to have one of.
That Lincoln was a very clean old car. The 460 in it isn't too hard to work on, if it needs to be fixed later on. Yet that thing was was running great!
TILT wheel movement .....Press the signal lever towards the dash and tilt the wheel. The tires are very old but what a beauty that Lincoln Continental Mark IV is!!
you can't have too many cars Randy. but you got to have a place to keep them. I know you are looking. hope you have good luck with that.
Stay away from the motorcycles. I have had one for 42 years and I am here to tell you drivers don’t look or see you on the road. Your head has to be on a swivel to make sure no one is pulling into your lane, cutting you off, the worst is people pulling out in front of you out of driveways and parking lots. If you haven’t ridden one before my advice is to get a scooter or a 150 or a 250 street bike and ride it for a few months to see if you like being out on the streets with cars zooming all around you. You don’t even have to be moving to be hit on one. Sitting at a stop sigh or a stop light people get run into by someone who isn’t paying attention, or distracted. I’ve been there! She was on her phone, ran right into the back of me and my bike! I’m willing to bet it is worse now because of everyone’s obsession with phones.
Not trying to show my age LOL but I believe the tilt lever is the turn signal pushing it downward will allow you to adjust.... Lincoln is nice if you were buying it for yourself but as far as buying it to flip it don't really bring that much money unfortunately
If I still lived in Oklahoma, I'd be all over that Lincoln. My first two cars were '79 Continentals... my second one was the same color as this one. Brought back a lot of memories. Turn signal lever doubles as tilt if I remember right... it's been a good while since I had one.
That Honda is a beauty, Randy.
It would be fun to do a road trip with a couple of friends with a boat like that and give a review as you’re doing it.
The Lincoln gets about 20 mpg w the big block. Just FYI. Had a 77 merc with the 460 best fuel mileage was 22 mpg at 80 mph. Surprisingly there is some market for em. Check out the ones on eBay sometimes. The old fellas like these mafia cars man. Cheers.
Some young(er) guys too. I'm 40 and would much rather waft around in one of these than some German sports sedan with rock hard suspension. 20mpg is better than some trucks and again, I know what I'd choose.
The Lincoln reminds me of Jock Ewing's car on the tv show Dallas.
Whatever you do, do NOT take the Porsche to a Track Day! Hoovie blew up the engines on 2 when he took them to a Track Day! The original spec tires for the Porsche are correct for the front, 225-40-18. The rear original spec is 285-30-18.
For the steering wheel tilt on the Lincoln: pull the indicator handle towards you and you can tilt the steering wheel
I really liked that Lincoln, too bad I would need 2 parking sport for that thing. Also, did you leave the lights on?
That Mark IV is very NICE and i am a GM guy. it's hood is longer then today's Tractor Trailer
love the Lincoln 1973 460 C6 leaded engine has soft valve seats
Assuming it doesn't have a catalytic converter, you can mix a lead additive with the gas to prevent damage to the valve seats. However some say that if you drive them gently, you don't need the additive. But I rather be safe than sorry.
Kevin Keeney used regular in mine drove hard no valve problem 17mpg n.j to Florida many times.was 1200$ in 90s was a mk3.
Yeah Randy it's a beautiful car and quite honestly you fall in love with every car which is kind of a good thing it's trying to get you to keep one that's the problem it'll be a nice vehicle to send out a weird beard though and build his car lot up
I love the Lincoln. Great cruiser car. Would be a great one to get
The Honda Valkry is a good touring bike. Very dependable. It's a 1500 cc Gold Wing without the body work. Flat opposed 6 engine (like Subaru). Only known issue is the stators can fail. There is a large wiring connector by the stator that if corroded will take out the stator. It's big but balanced well. If your feet touch the ground while sitting on the bike you could handle it, even as a beginner. Has hangers in the back to allow you to put leather saddle bags on it (now most are fake leather. More durable too). Also shaft drive. I've owned 13 bikes, 1 was a 1500 Gold Wing. I feel the optimum bike for a beginner is a standard Japanese motor cycle, feet position straight under you, 750cc or smaller. Always buy the 1st bike used in case you dont like to ride.
I looooove those old Lincolns. Too bad they're really rare in France and the gas would cost wayyy too much
That 1500cc was beautiful and the better buy
Is thar a kicker box for the CB radio on the Lincoln? ;) Very cool car. It is a time capsule from the 1970s.
So much history in that Lincoln. If cars could talk
left the headlights on on the lincoln
Good god that Lincoln brings back some memories for me. My first car in 1997 was a 1977 Lincoln Continental Furilio Pucci edition. Black with gold flake, full white top, white leather interior and a thirst for gas that surpassed the appetite of any super car. I miss that car!
What did that 73 sell for?
Wow that hood looks longer than mi 1988 Lincoln Town Car's hood, that Lincoln is badass I wouldn't loss the opportunity to get that one if I was there LoL now I would have 4 door and a 2 door Lincolns yeah 😎👍
Ah yes the Lincoln brings back memories my Grampa used to own one but his was a mark 5 and it was red.
Randy are these vids backwards cause you already did a. Video of you buying the Porsche
he shows the walkarounds after he buys any car from the auction
Nah the videos are backwards
At least they keep the bikes inside there. All the bikes at our local Copart and IAA's leave them out in the weather
I had a quad four in a Grand Am GT coupe in high school. I burned up the clutch and blow the head gasket 🤦♀️ Giving the keying to a new powerful car in the ‘90s to a High School female wasn’t my best idea!! 🤣 I loved that car!
My pappy said, "Son, you're gonna' drive me to drinkin' If you don't stop drivin' that Hot Rod Lincoln.". But you right, it would be very hard to sell from a business perspective.
Can you check how much I’m interested in that Continental!!! Boston Walter F
The Kawaski is a good bike. Miles are NOT too high for a Japanese bike. Many times draining the bowls on the carbs will drain the gunk out, siphon the gas out it, new gas with carb cleaner added might fix its fuel. Only thing I dont like for you is forward foot controls can be awkward for a new rider. Taking a beginner's class is a GREAT idea. Rear shock air is your preload & dial is your rebound. Only use a hand pump on your shocks. Not a compressor. Many rear shocks only have preload so that's positive. Shaft drive is great as long as you change the grease every oil change or 2 oil changes. It's very easy to change.
Man I'm one of your top fans and i like your content, but plz we like watching your very close updates and stuff and walk-arounds you're doing, it's just a fan's opinion. Appreciate it.. I really wait all day long to see your notification on the screen 😅 good luck
This was a much better walk around
With the white 370Z, any time the HVAC controls, radio, or seats get unplugged, the airbag light gets tripped and it just needs a reprogram from the Nissan dealership. Had to do this to my Titan when I swapped seats in it, so it could pass inspection.
Watching the walk round after seeing you drive the Porsche home... nice upload queue
Randy PLEASE PLEASE start with something that is around the 250cc range to start out with, I have been riding more then half my 51 years, start small get experance then start to move up from there.
Buy that linc Randy.
I don’t know what the condition is but you need to buy the Lincoln
Randy left the lights on.......
Wrong choice if you ask me sure it might look pretty but it will be nothing but problems
The tilt wheel is on the turn signal switch. Push it towards the dash to work it.
Legend says that the Tarus is still running
I was in the battle on the Mark IV but became too rich for my budget. I was 17 when this car was made. She's on her way to New Jersey I believe. Tilt is activated by the turn signal stalk
I would steer clear of that lil Vulcan it's real old and that's a ton of miles for one of those. In my opinion a good starter bike would be a Honda shadow, Yamaha v star or a Harley Sportster 883
Check if it is wet carpet particularly under the seat, the convertibles can leak and fry the immobiliser computer which is bolted to the floor. About $1000 to replace.
A red roof on the Z was beautiful
Push the turn signal forward (toward the dashboard) and the steering wheel can be adjusted.
I would have the Lincoln in an instant. Not all of us like small Euro sports cars with revvy engines, and 911s are a dime a dozen on UA-cam. That car would make a wonderful classic cruiser. Fix the air, drop a Carpenters cartridge into the 8-track and hit the Interstate. Make like it's '73 and the fuel crisis never happened, then watch for the admiring looks from all the people in their Nissans and Toyotas. I find it hard to believe there's no demand for land yachts, however I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised if those miles were genuine given the condition. Why it's at Copart is anyone's guess. Everyone is doing cheap 911s, no-one has a cheap land yacht aside from Jay Smart and I think he already moved his Mk6 on.
Dang bro you never even commented on the way cool Indian with the leather saddle bags that's my favorite !!!!
31:08 No that is "One Way Ticket" to the Heaven, for any Beginner who dares! ;-)
Sam Sen has the correct answer, a 1500cc motorcycle is not a good starter bike!!!
Vinyl top has been replaced on the Mark. The replacement top is not the correct grain. With the cruise control the horn was a run blow.
That Lincoln would be a awesome derby car. Lol
Love your videos, dude! Best wishes from the UK. :)
The tilt wheel lever is the turn signal. Just pull back on the lever.
Randy i can just picture ya on that bike with a black pan helmet with a big tash 😂😂show us a wheelie
Watch Wheeler Dealer show. They did a recondition on one of those 996's. Go watch it.
Hi randy , 22 galons is around 83 liters. Here in the rsa we work in liters so ja that is alot and around R1305 to fill the tank in usa dollors its around $87
They are standard 996 front and rear rims and tyres. 10-inch rears and 7.5-inch x 18 fronts.
Them spoilers on them Porsche's the motor that raises and lowers the spoiler eats the teeth off the toothed mechanism, so some of them either won't come up and some of them once they raise the teeth won't mesh with the teeth on the motor to lower it.
