  • This is a very thorough and detailed video on the install of a BBK Performance 62mm Throttle Body on my 2002 Jeep Wrangler 4.0 I6.
    www.bbkperformance.com/jeep-4...
    From their website:
“Bolt On More Power in Minutes!
Make a significant power and throttle response improvement on your 1991-2003 Jeep 4.0L with this BBK 62mm throttle body. BBK Performance throttle bodies use a large bore for more airflow, creating quicker throttle response and better acceleration.”
Note: This is not intended to be an exact how-to video, simply a video for entertainment purposes only. What may work for me may not work for you. Good luck and happy wrenchin'!

This was a huge wake up call for the 4.0. I put the four whole injectors and XL coil upgraded wires in the throttlebody spacer my wife and say is wow worth every penny just buy it

Iac and tps in a jeep have been the most problematic to go bad in all my jeeps that I purchase in the past but a jeep to me is alot easier to work on than any other vehicle and parts for jeeps dating back to amc alot of are made in Mexico crazy though

Those motors run forever if you keep the maintenance up on them. Nice upgrade!!!

You would think that iac housing would come already installed from BBK. Nice to hear that it works better. Cool looking jeep I just rebuilt mine from a wreck.

If you ever get superglue on your hands or drip it on something, brake clean works really well; not as harsh as carb cleaner and can be put on a rag to slowly dab. carb clean can strip surfaces and dries much faster so on-rag application isn't as good. but, yeah. Used to put a lot of motorcycle grips on with superglue, sometimes it would come out the end and i'd just use my fingers to smooth and clean the area, then spray some carb clean on a rag and wipe my hand clean. Super glue just comes right off. I use super glue for a lot of cuts too, with baking soda. Gets hot for a second or two, but way better than any bandaid.

So do you think a throttled that big will work on the 2.5 liter

I had one on an XJ 4.0L. They don't add power but do increase the throttle response/sensitivity. I'm tempted to get one for my TJ, but it's a 5 speed and I'm not sure if the more sensitive throttle will make feathering the clutch/gas more annoying. I've installed a B&M short shifter on my AX-15, and I highly recommend it if they make one for the NV3550.

I have the same TJ and Throttle Body and I can’t get the AIC housing to bolt back on to the new throttle body because the holes are too far from the “tab” you mentioned. How did you deal with that? I’d you look closely you’d have the same issue I have because I can see on yours that the holes are further away on the new body just like mine.

but right after this , you installed a stroker. If I'm staying with my 4.0 , is this an effective upgrade?

Any idea what size the intake opening is? Putting a 62mm throttle body over a 61mm opening would seem detrimental to the performance. I was just wondering. I don't know, I've never measured one. I'm thinking that edges would cause turbulence in the intake air flow. I've done a fair number of port and polishes on carbed engines, so, I was wondering if the smoothness of the runner would help in this situation.

Does it make a whine at high RPM?
