A fantastic video wit superb visuals and brilliant overall presentation. Real shame about certain misleading facts presumably supplied by certain minority ethnic and religious groups, to purposely mislead the viewing audience and distort the well established history of this unique nation.
Hey there thanks for watching! I pretty much just sourced a bunch of generic facts off the internet to make the most introductory generic documentary of SriLanka possible. If you’d like to make a response video on your channel maybe reacting to some of the misleading facts in mine, I would be thrilled to check it out! Thank you!!
Early form of Hinduism didn't exist in Sri Lanka.it was in India. In pre history era, tribe groups in Sri Lanka practiced their own way of beliefs and values.it is completely different from the early form of Hinduism.do more research before claim.
Hey thanks for watching! Understandably the history of Sri Lanka and India is extremely complex and interconnected and even more so as history goes back in time. As we didn’t have any footage of Sri Lanka’s prehistoric inhabitants from our shoot there (haha) we chose to keep things pretty general and focus on the Hindu history which we had footage of the temple in Colombo. Also we say ‘early form of Hinduism’ to cover our bases understanding that there has since ancient times been interaction between the two great regions for a long time and it may be a form unrecognizable to us today. There are definitely numerous errors throughout but we tried our best as outsiders and from our cursory research this is what we came up with. What did you think of the rest of the documentary? Also be sure to check out our films from India and Nepal as well!
Actually if you really look into the Sri Lankan history dating back to Ramayana era which predates the tribes that existed during King Vijaya’s arrival, they do have a an ancient form of Hinduism that is similar to that in ancient India which consisted of worshiping sun and moon. This directly relates to yoga nowadays although it was a lifestyle during the time. And Ayurveda links into it around the same time too. ✨ Have fun exploring people cos Sri Lanka truly is a wonder and has much more than we think to discover.

Sinhalese buddhist need a reason to claim Sri Lanka as their own. This land had belonged to the Tamils even before aryan invasion of the Indian subcontinent and later the Island (Tamil Eelam/Sri Lanka). They can because they’ve got political power so Sinhalese can change or corrupt history. They have already corrupted the Tamils history of Ananthapuram and they changed Tamil kings into Sinhala kings because changing history is like a hobby for them. Now they want to claim Ravana. Buddhism was born sometime after the time of Buddha, that is in the centuries after 500 BC. Ramayana legend is said to have taken place millions of years ago. If not that, even then it has been calculated to have taken place at least around 5100 BC. And Ravana was one of the greatest ever followers of Lord Shiva. Ramayana has been a folklore that has been followed not only in India or Lanka, but also in all south east asia and far east. Folklores have basis in actual history and have been the sole medium of passing on history orally for millennia. Keezhadi site in Tamil Nadu and Indus Valley are good example of the Tamil claim of the land. Also Sinhala history started with the invasion of King Vijaya which was 2500 years ago but Ravana’s history started way before that (7500 years
LOL. The most stupid comment ever seen in utube. Tamil Racists want to claim some land because they are the largest group of people that doesn't have a country to their own. Tamils never was in Sri Lanka in the past. Thats why only 10% tamils in Sri Lanka while Sinhalese 80%. Racist Tamils always ignore the fact that even with normal propulation growth rate, Tamils woud have 80% in SriLanka instead of Sinhalese but it didn't happen because Tamils came to Sri Lanka 1000 years ago when Sinhalese kings rented Indian tamil armies for some wars.😅
