One of the best Victory Day Parades that I've seen, the effects at 1:05:30 and I think 1:21:10 were very well done without distracting from the parade.
I do not agree that cgi effects were good. They were out of place and unnecessary. They kinda ruined the parade a little bit for me and my relatives. I guess different people have different opinions on this one.
A marginal detail: the weather. In the 1945 victory parade, it seems that the weather was cold and raining. It is not longer true today, and even in the parades held in may, as usual, it seems that it was not so cold as in 24 june 1945.
This is something that’s extremely obvious to me as someone who was born in 1995. September and October weather are radically different from what they were when I was a kid. Plus if you’d told me we were going to regularly not have a long-term snowpack over winters, let alone that it wouldn’t stay below freezing for most of December through early March, I would’ve laughed. Now I’m watching the state where I live slowly cease to have winter at all. Stringing together a subfreezing week in the middle of winter is rare now. I don’t get how people think climate change is an abstraction or only occurs slowly, it’s extremely obvious that the climate has gotten wildly different just in the past 5-15 years.
Not a lot of MorPekh this year, and a fair shake up from the usual order. You know the name of that naval march just before Ekipazh-odna semya? (51:00 - 52:03)

@@xavierj.videos278 It imprisons political prisoners and doesn’t allow anti-government rallies. Countries that are democratic or don’t want to associate themselves with an authoritarian regime probably wouldn’t want to take part in a country’s parade if they were basically a dictatorship.
Well these Victory Parades (first in 1945, then in 1965, 1985, and 1990) were only held in jubilee years, but considering it was common soviet military parade doctrine, you can easily see the similarities. These are not inspired by the October Revolution parades. There are many Imperial Russian Marches, Soviet Marches, and even a few modern day Russian marches in this parade.
Sometimes i´m thinking that these guys so much better than we are! They have there head up and look proud, even if a large part of the world is against there attitudes. Hopefully there never will be war between east and west forces or even a nuclear war.
When participants in a parade smile while marching in parade during peace time after end of cold war, the audience like it. Few participants in a modern parade may possibly have non military role, such as, may be, police women and few others. Even an audience from an American intelligence agency will no longer feel threatened. While searching youtube.com I had seen the original 1945 marching parade in color, weeks after ww2 ended. That parade from 1945 that I saw on youtube was just as well well orchestrated and colorfully clad despite actual troops just returning home from multiple battle sites. Probably the requirement for the 1945 parade was that a marching soldier has to have no missing arm or leg or visible facial bullet wounds to march in parade in 1945.
Candidates for the parade were carefully selected. The first to be considered were servicemen who showed courage in battles and had military awards. Physical data, such as height and age, were also important. So, in the order for the troops of the 1st Belorussian Front dated May 24, 1945, it was stated that the candidates should be no lower than 176 cm and no older than 30 years. Since all formal requirements were difficult to comply with, exceptions were made in practice for participants. 24 marshals, 249 generals, 2536 other officers, 31,116 sergeants and soldiers took part in the parade. An orchestra of 1,400 musicians accompanied the movement of troops. Due to bad weather, the air part of the parade was canceled - 216 aircraft remained at the airfields. The parade lasted 122 minutes.
I hate what the Soviet Union stood for, but my god they had some cool uniforms, equipment, and music. Plus, their sacrifice during WW2 can’t be understated. Even if much of that sacrifice was avoidable if Stalin wasn’t, well, Stalin. Plus, the USSR is behind us now. I just wish the USA and Russia could be Allies. The world would be better if we were friends. Unfortunately, 30 years isn’t long enough to heal old wounds
@KJER ERRT Can't we defend what USSR stood for without being a tankie? Regardless, I ain't doing it myself, because it's easier to install propaganda than to deconstruct it. But I will add this, might be useful: docs.google.com/document/d/1Gxwhh-vdeB--47HM-20cEVRC9eAMhrapbNf0Sk8VSOs
It could be a stupid question. But i wonder one thing Foreign troops came from Russia's past and present allies such as Chinese and Indians or countries that was part of USSR like Belarus, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, etc All, except one. Which is Georgia (which is also part of USSR) Why? I don't understand because basically, their supreme leader at that time was Georgian (not to mention there was certainly any unknown heroes who were fallen that was Georgian), so it's a bit loss
Georgia is not invited because they were in war with Russia in 2008 and since this year, both countries aren't on good terms. There is also a problem with two territories called Abkhazia and South Ossetia which claimed there Independence and they are supported by Russia, so Georgia does not agree with this. The presidents of Abkhazia and South Ossetia were present at the parade.
@KJER ERRT Georgia was a part of USSR (Грузинская Советская Социалистическая Республика) since 1920th. It never fight on Nazi side, and many Georgians were Bolsheviks (including Joseph Stalin) and heroes of the USSR in WW2.
Well you should also know your birthday (June 24th) is actually the date of the very first soviet victory parade! The first one was held on a rainy June day, and victory day wasn't established as a holiday until 1965! There were only 4 victory parades in the USSR! 1945, 1965, 1985, and 1990.
Its the banner of victory, it says "150th Rifle, Order of Kutuzov 2nd class, Idritsa Division, 79th Rifle Corps, 3rd Shock Army, 1st Belorussian Front."
To add - That flag was the one hoisted on the Reichstag, captured in the world famous photograph. That was the unit who successfully captured the Reichstag on the 2nd of May.
I was watching a British navy drill( kind of militar parade) what a bunch of hippies there... smiling ,moving around ,speaking among themselves, not discipline at all ,most of them with beard I set my sharply comment there about it and didn't take long,a few fannies replying back ( attacking me) Not very professional there anymore.insult to militar performance. I don’t get how people think climate change is an abstraction or only occurs slowly, it’s extremely obvious that the climate has gotten wildly different just in the past 5-15 years.
you right

No doubt inspired and influenced by the old USSR October Revolution anniversary parades, I believe it's the same music as well.
How do you get this awesome stuff!?
Let us all stand for OUR parade comrades
First, Baseball and Russian Victory Day parade return
Sometimes i´m thinking that these guys so much better than we are! They have there head up and look proud, even if a large part of the world is against there
attitudes.
The parade lasted 122 minutes.
the soldiers were completely different there
Does anyone know why the Corps of Drums are the first in the parade to march? 34:24
It's tradition for them to do so. They have led every parade since 1945.

I'm surprised a yankie hasn't turned up to say how you're wrong about Stalin and that he pet baby puppies every morning and only killed bad people.
Liberty Prime agreed, Stalin was a psychopath and an insult to Russia
@KJER ERRT Can't we defend what USSR stood for without being a tankie? Regardless, I ain't doing it myself, because it's easier to install propaganda than to deconstruct it.

Everyone on July 4th: Celebrating America.
Me: Watching this video.
It could be a stupid question. But i wonder one thing
Foreign troops came from Russia's past and present allies such as Chinese and Indians or countries that was part of USSR like Belarus, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, etc
All, except one. Which is Georgia (which is also part of USSR)
Why? I don't understand because basically, their supreme leader at that time was Georgian (not to mention there was certainly any unknown heroes who were fallen that was Georgian), so it's a bit loss
Georgia is not invited because they were in war with Russia in 2008 and since this year, both countries aren't on good terms. There is also a problem with two territories called Abkhazia and South Ossetia which claimed there Independence and they are supported by Russia, so Georgia does not agree with this. The presidents of Abkhazia and South Ossetia were present at the parade.
Russia has an aggressive policy against Georgia.
@@xavierj.videos278 oh i see. Thanks for explanation
@KJER ERRT Georgia was a part of USSR (Грузинская Советская Социалистическая Республика) since 1920th. It never fight on Nazi side, and many Georgians were Bolsheviks (including Joseph Stalin) and heroes of the USSR in WW2.

Yep, just as I expected, Russia decided to reschedule 75th Anniversary of May Day parade from 9th of May to my birthday.
Well you should also know your birthday (June 24th) is actually the date of the very first soviet victory parade! The first one was held on a rainy June day, and victory day wasn't established as a holiday until 1965! There were only 4 victory parades in the USSR! 1945, 1965, 1985, and 1990.

What's written on that Soviet flag the first soldiers are carrying? There's besides the usual sickle and hammer also written something.
