Maybe, and I have had some great fun on VHF and UHF but with no antennas at home I operate almost exclusively portable or mobile and openings on VHF and UHF are a bit more fleeting in nature, so I am not always in the right place at the right time. When I have worked DX on VHF it still gives me the same buzz as HF.
Hardly lost enthusiasm when you're up at 04:30, and yes, I would have politely declined. I reckon you should put a Speedwatch camera on your wish list. Graeme, M0NAC

i was hoping to see a cheap HF radio to come out on the kayak :D but still, it was quite relaxing watching the kayaking tbh, i enjoyed it, its nice to see more of the environment and the shack is on an island - what an amazing location !!
On the face of it kayaking has nothing to do with ham radio but my channel is called 2E0WMG ham radio and kayaking so the clue is in the name. I combine my two passions and often use my kayak to get to out of the way, otherwise hard to get two places. A lot of my subscribers enjoy it. I have no intention of changing anything. If this channel is not for you then fair enough.

I use several different radios when out in the kayak including a Xiegu G90 and a Xiegu X6100. So far I’ve not been tempted to take my Icom 7300 or Yaesu FT-897. I don’t have a dry bag big enough😀 Thanks for watching.
