This video become my lifesaver today to do my work task cause i just joined to this company. Thank youu so muchhh. I have a question, if the drawing provide two cross section, Xs and Ys, what i need to do ??
I'm glad it's been helpful! If you have two cross sections, you will need to copy and paste the cross section tab in the spreadsheet and complete the cross section sheet for each of the sections. We have a separate video solely on the cross section method which goes into a bit more detail that you may find helpful. Also an article: www.kublasoftware.com/calculating-earthworks-cut-fill-with-a-spreadsheet-cross-section-method/
In the real earthmoving world, cut and fill may not add up depending on the type soil, swell factor, moisture, shrinkage etc. Whether payment for the cut is made by BCF bank cubic yards or by calculating payment based on the cross section of compacted placed material, etc. It becomes tricky if the cut material needs to be hauled as transportation is expensive and it usually requires consideration that the materials may swell after cut, etc.
I'd like to be able to calculate the size of the stockpile. I have kubla pro 2019. I have existing feature coordinates. I can easily build the existing ground. Am I correct to use the feature surface option on the proposed tab to draw an outline around the stockpile, snap to original ground elevations and let it compute the volume? I don't want to calculate from a platform. I want it to just give me the CY of stockpiled dirt from existing elevations. Thanks for the help!!!
Hi Bo, Yes, when using the Pro version you can add a feature surface and snap to the ground level. This would work best if this is a flat surface. Please send us an email to our support team if you have any further questions. Many thanks, K
Hello Sir, I want to calculate for cut and fill earthwork but the only problem is that my plan only have existing ground contour. So, how do I calculate for cut and fiil? Should plot first or just simply calculate how much needed for cut and fill and insert into template?
Here is an article with the grid method spreadsheet. www.kublasoftware.com/calculating-earthworks-cut-fill-with-a-spreadsheet-grid-method/ There is a link to the cross section spreadsheet within the article.
Currently we believe our customers prefer to run our software on their CAD workstations. It is very demanding software and would be expensive to run in the cloud. In the long term we would consider a browser based solution and app but for now workstation software is the best solution, without needing to be online.
@@KublaSoftware Thats fine but wouldn't you want other customers as well? its more revenue. I dont think the mobile version should do all the options as the PC but at least to measure areas and calculate volumes by specifying elevations should be easy to do in mobile. I just hope you guys dont get outplayed by other people after getting this far already.
@@granrey Of course we are looking at it as an option for expanding our customer base and I have passed your message onto our developers for consideration in future versions. Thank you for feedback and concern :)
Simple answer is that the grid method takes an average of difference between the proposed and existing and each of the four corners and uses that to calculate an average volume. Check out the formula highlighted in this blog : www.kublasoftware.com/how-to-calculate-cut-and-fill/
I don't understand the question fully. Are you using the manual methods described in the video or Kubla Cubed software. If you are using Kubla Cubed it is probably best to post in our support forums www.forums.kublasoftware.com. We can then help you with it.
Proposed level - Datum = New Level. New level > Existing = Fill New level < Existing = Cut For area and volume in CAD just use command LI (List) Or manually just use basic formula for volume and area
Hi. The installer for Kubla Cubed mentioned in the video is linked in the description of this video. If you are on a phone best to just search for "Kubla Cubed" in Google on a PC.

In a Grid method
What if in a grid 2 points are cut and other 2 fill
How to calculate its depth ??
Need a separate cut volume and fill volume
Simple answer is that the grid method takes an average of difference between the proposed and existing and each of the four corners and uses that to calculate an average volume. Check out the formula highlighted in this blog :

If I have fix datum level (fix minimum level) then where I will put it to calculate the volume.
Sir please reply me
