Scott you are the perfect compliment to Tim's playing. You too are in the pantheon of greatest guitarists/ composer's in the modern era. Thank you for sharing your talents with the world!!!!
My first guitar was an ibanez, it was the guitar I leaned how to play on. In my teens I saved up the money for a fender strat, sold the ibanez in part to pay for it, and have had that ever since. All these new masters playing ibanez really has me fiending for that thin af ibanez neck again.... The fender C neck has been good to me for years, but.... im being tempted back. awesome playing!
If you ever get the opportunity to play an early 2000's LTD Viper 400, do it. During this time, the company was using a specific type of wood for their necks when building the guitars in Korea (you'll see the word 'Korea' on the back of the headstock and between the tuning pegs on these specific guitars). The other like-models used the same necks, such as their Gibson style bodies (the EC-400). To this day, those necks are the best that I have ever laid my hands on. It took a while to track them down, but I own three of them now. And they still outperform anything else I play.
@@jamescanady3442 nice rec and details! Given my lifestyle, it seems unlikely such an opportunity will reveal itself, but I will keep my eyes out regardless.
@@jaymarsh123 When I started playing, my first guitar was a nylon classical. I didn't understand the difference between these and normal acoustic guitars at the time. The neck was HUGE. While sitting on my apartment steps one day and trying to learn a song (because I was a 2000's teen that needed to feel 'seen', lmao), a wonderful man approached me and asked if he could sit with me and play my guitar with me. Of course I said 'yes', and he ended up being a very skilled player, and he taught me an abundance of information. Most importantly, he taught me that a large neck will help me to become fluent on the guitar, and that large necks are a blessing-in-disguise. About a year later, I grew to realize that he was so, freaking, right. And then, about ten years later, I realized even more how correct he was when I picked up my first LTD (with a thin neck), and began to shred it. I was shocked at how much easier it was on that thinner neck; even sweeps became effortless. Ever since, my main practice guitar has become a Viper-401B, mostly due to the large neck, and amazing stock tone.
So I bought the tabs a while ago and this video finally showed a part that the tabs don't show! I finally know why mine didn't sound like his when going by the tabs alone! He SLIDES from 16 to 12 on the last fast part!!! THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS!!! This is is one of my top 5 favorite solos of all time!
I love Polyphia for being so insanely talented and avoiding the “music for musicians” type of instrumental guitar stuff generally. That being said, Scott letting loose on this track is fucking awesome. The consistent tonal motif of being restrained/dragged down throughout the song make this solo feel like the perfect culmination of the track in addition to being cool as fuck in its own.
Bro... Am I going to have to sell my 7 string Xiphos? Been waiting for this video since I first heard Bloodbath and now I am loving it for a whole new reason! Stop making me spend money! Much love Scotty!
To the people asking why it sounds different: its in another key than the original recording. The phrasing in this solo is so FCKNG amazing and the choice of notes so perfect. Feels like you need to take a shower after listening to those dirty notes, hahaha. DARE YOU SCOTTIE! btw nice guitar..
That axe is absolutely sick. I mean your playing is alright too, jk man, clean as all hell. I have completely gone back to practicing fundamentals and I am finding my playing is so much cleaner
Why does he look surprised with how nasty he is on the guitar 🤘🏾😄 Scott is so weird and hilarious. I met Polyphia in Des Moines Iowa and they super chill and humble. Love these guys
The signature guitar we didn't know we need
When you're an anime character that also likes info wars:
F yeah. And I don't even like explorers/stars. It's beautiful.

@@bao4493 but the Xiphos have reverse headstocks and it suits the guitar really well. This one just isn't sitting right for me.
I’m convinced Scott & Tim will be the protagonists of the next Final Fantasy game at this point
Youll know when their next music video has them wearing 50 belts
Tim and Sephiroth definitely share a vibe... not so much of evil, but if cunning.
a white scotty signature? Now i am 100% certain there will be a white polyphia signature drop with this guitar and tim's white tod10n and white tod10

Scott randomly existed on the internet and dropped a solo just to show off his brand new signature guitar
Scott you are the perfect compliment to Tim's playing. You too are in the pantheon of greatest guitarists/ composer's in the modern era. Thank you for sharing your talents with the world!!!!
They both complement eachother tho
I don't know why but this solo played by itself sounds completrly different than on the recording
i’m pretty sure that it’s because this is played on a 7 string and not 8, and because tim’s part isn’t played, so the harmonies aren’t included
@@odenroberts7603 its a solo... Tim´s playing the chunkychunks in the background. But i agree sound different when the recording
The original is played lower I believe. Maybe because that was on an 8 string and he modified it for the 7 string in this video.

Tim and Scott’s sigs have a pretty standard C neck I think. Certainly not a very slim one compared to other Ibanez necks I’ve had my hands on.
