Another World Record created, and another Grand Champion hits the field. Going for world records is difficult especially when there isn't already one set. So because Rocket League didn't have it already, Durtho and I created a new account and worked our way up from Unranked all the way to Grand Champion. This is like Road to Grand Champ but on steroids. There were so many things to think about and a lot of variation involved, but in the end, we did it. How long does it take to get to Grand Champ anyways? What is the fastest time? Let's find out

I hit d1 2 days ago in 2s am- I usually play 2s. Then I do my 1s placements and get nearly d2 even though I suck at 1s. Makes sense.

Well, this video is almost directly promoting smurfing, possibly making a whole speedrunning community, which will make life hell for the plats grinding for diamond. Please dont encourage smurfing

there is not enough of people that would do this to hurt rankup.
because the chance of it happening goes down the more matches you played.

i agree. there are already speedruns on PC with special training packs and maps. like the dribble challenges or the aerial challenges.

Its not all bad tbh. If I played gcs back when I was back in diamond, it would have helped me massively. Regardless, smurfing has been in this game since the beginning, and psyonix promoted it by making the game free to play, so its not that bad lol
@@coryribley i dont know what youre talking about as if you were plat or lower facing against supersonics, it wouldnt help you, it would you just make you mad because in a playlist called ranked, you faced against people that you were not supposed to.
@@jekkwad857 A level of smurfing that huge is so uncommon. Let me just tell you that there are absolutely such a miniscule amount of players that are supersonic legends, let alone ones that are smurfing. When an account is smurfing and brand new, the player usually breezes through the ranks in a couple days and gets close to their normal rank. The odds of a platinum facing a supersonic legend are incomprehensible and ridiculous. For a grand champ 1 to play a supersonic legend (which is more common, but not expected) is extremely beneficial and is probably the biggest skill gap you'll ever see in ranked. If any plats reading this have ever actually faced a supersonic legend in ranked, let me know.
@@coryribley I didnt mean my point to be necessarily about smurf SSLs. I meant it to be more about smurfing in general. If youre a low rank player who is matched with a way higher rank player its obviously not going to be fun in anyway.

The World Record should actually be 3:33:40 as you left the match/won the match that exact moment and leveled up to Great Champion. But this was A AMAZING video, I just started playing Rocket League like 3 days ago, and I already love it and I am kinda addicted to it.

quick tip(s) to get out of plat: A very good tip for getting out of plat is not to ball chase, be patient, and keep momentum with power slide and wave dashes.

One of the reasons u got to gc so quick was bc of the incredibly inconsistent opponents u we’re going up against . The c2’s and c3’s u were up against play like the low c1’s and d3’s I got put against a while back so realistically u wouldn’t even finish at that time

@@jette2001 Lukas has reason enough to be upset. Personally, I love Rocket League, however I am a horrid player, who only plays for fun. This video encourages creating a "speedrunning community" which is usually wonderful, but for ranked online games, it is going to have players going after lower ranks. This tips the balance the player base and Psyonix+Epic Games try so hard to make. This is detrimental to people trying to go from gold to plat, and especially plat to diamond.

I have the unofficial wr for most hours played as a bronze, ive got 7k+ hours as a bronze player, i play like a gc and my for fun account is a gc but my old account has 7.3k hours still growing of me being a bronze, i lose games on purpose to get my hours in and just go for demos and own goal flicks

just letting you know if you play with someone of very high mmr you get a lot more mmr for your games. on my alt account i won 7 games on a fresh account out of 10 placements with my champ 2 friend and was placed in diamond 3 div4
