- Micah Quests:
According to various comments you do not need to complete the Micah quests, however I still recommend doing them.
- Farming rolls:
You can actually get the Exotic Class Items to drop from any chest in the Pale Heart once you've acquired it, not just Overthrow chests.
- 2nd Encounter Alternate Explanation:
Because I always stress about people understanding my explanation for the mechanics, I'd like to provide a slightly alternate explanation of the second encounter mechanics if the video explanation was difficult to understand.
Both you and your teammate will have 6 cruxes with active tethers, and 3 cruxes with no tethers.
Your goal is to find 3 tethered cruxes that are in the same spot for both you and your teammate. Designate one person to be "the shooter" and one person to do callouts. Callout person reads to Shooter so that Shooter can decide which 3 cruxes to shoot. Depending on the method you go with, you will either be reading out the untethered cruxes or the tethered ones. But either way, you just need the find the 3 tethered ones you both share.
Also, whoever is the one shooting does not need to make the callouts, they just need to listen and then figure out which ones to shoot.

- If you are still struggling to grasp the mechanics in the Second Encounter after watching the video, I have provided an alternate explanation in the description that will hopefully help you get it.
- On top of the farming method I mentioned in the video, you can actually get re-rolls of the exotic class items from normal chests in the pale heart too and by also running the exotic mission again as many times as you want!
do you need to get the the exotic class item on all character's to be able to get it from the overthrow or can i get it on my warlock and then farm the chests?
@@Cloud-ep2ot if you only get it on warlock and farm the chests, you'll only get the warlock bond exotic class item. you'd have to run it on the other characters and then farm chests on those other characters to get their class items
Thanks for the guide. As a 62 yr old guardian I f*** hate timers. Trying to enjoy playing with my teenaged son and the stress takes the enjoyment out of running this. I feel for you solo players I personally think it was shorted sighted on bungies part.
I totally get that! There's absolutely no need for a timer during a mission like this that already requires a lot of communication and solving mechanics. I wish you both the best of luck on completing it though, and if you have any issues understanding the second encounter I have provided an additional explanation of it in the description so maybe it will make more sense!
The time honestly isn’t that bad I just did it with a random who never did the mission same as me and despite my constant fuck ups we were able to be beat it with like 5-6 minutes to spare third encounter may be a little challenging but overall the mission isn’t as hard as people make it out to be.
Thankfully it isn't the worst in this mission that is true. I think the reason they even have it here is because they needed some kind of fail-state and since you can't wipe at any point and there's no revive tokens, they probably settled on the timer mechanic. Though honestly, I still don't think they needed it. I would've preferred to take my time and explore all the areas of the mission without being rushed, but that's just me.
The timer is pretty lax tbh, the hardest part would be the cruxes though, me and my buddy share screaned and it helped so much on the final part
Brother I totally feel you! I'm 53 and my son is 23. He gets frustrated easily but is able to grasp mechanics really quickly. Me on the other hand can't grasp them no matter how many times its explained. We tried this mission once already and the timer got us in the first room with the clock face. I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to convince him to do it any more. He absolutely hates bungie's infatuation with timers.

@thenightingale7405 UA-camrs dont do it cause it reduces viewership length. People are more likely to complete the entire video when its not divided, as people who pick and choose where to watch usually dont finish the video from start to finish.

This explanation definitely gives me a little more confidence in giving it a shot, as I ran Whisper of the Worm when it originally released, and throughly enjoyed it after nailing the mechanics and movement. Not worrying about there being no respawns further makes this something I don’t mind looking forward too

@@NinjaPups are there timer checkpoints? From what it seems for each objective, just curious if you run out of time a certain distance in from one puzzle to the next? Or is it a full restart from very beginning?
Unfortunately there are no checkpoints. If you run out of time at any point, it will restart the whole mission. However, upon reaching a specific encounter or section, the timer will reset and start counting down again from a new time. So like, after you beat first encounter you have a certain amount of minutes to get to the second encounter and then when you start it, you'll have a new amount of time to clear that second encounter and so on. So it's not just one continuous timer, if that makes sense.
@@NinjaPups appreciate the info. Regarding mob spawns, is it wise to clear out most adds before communicating puzzles to move forward, or do they just keep spawning? I guess what is the best utilization of time before the next phase?

Some people are saying that once you beat this you can get the item to randomly drop from cheat and activities on the pale heart for that character you beat it on so for my fellow solo's out there who only play one character really. Just beat it on your main and then go do the pale heart stuff.

Using a different numbering method for the cruxes between the 2nd and 3rd encounter is a mistake should use clock positions for both to keep it consistent.
There is also a peace button behind you in the pvp moment to not do the 1v1. It’s the Prisoners Dilemma

What hunter build is best for survival for this mission?
You know, you're the first person I've seen to actually claim me and very meticulously explained what was needing to happen period I watched all the big youtubers and they suck. You explain this in a way that I understood it you highlighted what I needed to do and I explained it to my buddy and now we both get it period thank you you've earned my subscription and to be honest you're probably going to be the first you 2 but I don't need money too

You forgot the pre requisite that you need to have done one overflow in each area at least once for the witch queen keeper to spawn
My wizard wont spawn what am I doing wrong is it the whole thing overthrow included that has to be done with 2?
I am confused as I have comleted all the missions/ campaign and I have done all overthrows in 1 instance solo and with a fireteam and I cannot get the witches to spawn. any help?
Just did the overthrow part and the secret keepers didn't start showing up until we did all 3 first and then went back for the secret keepers
Also its not just the overthrow chests, its all chests. So its actually faster to farm chests than to do the mission over and over

My only complaint is the clock mechanic resets if you get it wrong and the wizard for bonus time only spawns once.

There's not really much else I can say other than what I did in the video. You and your teammate are trying to find the one tethered crux that both of you have in the same spot. So have one person call out all 4 tethered spots and then the other person says which one matches and you both shoot it at the same time.
It's actually a 2% chance that any chest in the pale heart can drop the armor once you acquired it one time
I know this for a fact because I was driving around last night and circles just opening up the chests that are strewn about on the ground here and there and I just kept opening them up over and over and I got I got one to drop
That's what we're doing but otherwise there's a bug issues we have the same callout or number i think.
I am doing level 3 public missions in all three area all the time for days with my friends and not to mention I have unlocked everything but this garbage.. why? Why no witch queen appears after I complete a level 3 activity? Any other people who experience this?
My friend and I are trying to run this and everything we try the first few puzzles everytime we shoot the matching symbol it automatically fails, is this a bug?
I have not had any issues with the symbols, no. Are you sure you are shooting them in the order that they spawn in? If they spawn in "love", "witness", "pyramid" for example, you will need to shoot them in that order. In the final encounter, that's top to bottom. But in the rest of the encounters you read them left to right.
Do I have to complete the campaign on all three characters to access the mission with all three, or can I just do it on one and that unlocks it for all of them?
You can do it on one and it unlocks for all characters but you cannot farm the exotics unless you complete it once per character so if you do it on Titan and want the warlock bond you have to complete the mission again on warlock

So I was able to get class items on my titan will I need to do mission on my alts and then be able to farm them through chests?
if you want to farm your other characters class items through the chests, yes each character needs to run the mission and you will need to farm the chests on the class that you want to get the drop for. So if you want to get hunter cloaks, you need to have first run it on your hunter then farm chests on your hunter.
You gotta do alot to even get the mission!

If the text pops up after each boss that means you are doing it correctly right ? That text won't pop up if you still have to do the pre requisite missions right ?
That is my understanding however people are saying you don't have to do the missions. It's really hard to tell with this game though..
@@NinjaPups ok I just completed it solo. You don't have to have any of those pre requisite missions to do it. And for anyone wondering on my second ball I had to dunk at the end the 7 minute timer ran out and I wasn't done yet and I was still able to dunk the second ball way after the 7 minute timer was up and it still counted and I unlocked the duel mission.

Unfortunately not. Both parties need the DLC.

Read out the crux's that have the tether going to the big crux. Shooter shoots the crux's that are tethered for both players
Probably being stupid here but just to confirm as I wasn't sure. Just have to completebthe alone in the dark wuests to unlock all cysts?
Correct. Except you need to it a bunch of times. So like the quest might say you've discovered 6/6 cysts on it, but until you've gone through and ran each of the 6 individual cysts (sword dance, moth-infested cavern, slayer, searing light, smothering darkness and aerial ace) you will not have them all unlocked. It takes a lot of rounds of the quest, i'm not exactly sure the number.
I did with my friend it was a really good exotic mission but hell nah the overthrows was horrible.
I am pretty much at my limit of doing overthrow as well lol.

Always find it weird when Bungie creates missions where people do it once and dont wanna do it again. Everyone I know whos done this has said theyre not ever doing it again.
Okay so I have completed Micah’s quests yet the secret keeper won’t spawn in
After you complete the final boss at an overthrow you have to find the light bearing wizard around the areas
Bungie messed up that mission with hyping that stuff up , not anyone is able to get that stuff now
In a way I like they do these missions to be played with others, but I HATE how the force you to communicate during it. I've tried way too many times to do the weekly coop mission, just to fail because the others don't seem to know how to read the chat. And no, I don't have a mic.
No offense I'm not mad but all you had to say for second encounter was " light 3 dark has 3 shoot the leftovers and kill tormented to shoot them" cause us to wipe there so we are now restarting.
I've done every single Micha and Final Shape quest that there is and still the wizards aren't spawning. I'm doing the overthrows solo and that may be the issue but I genuinely don't know. I've been at this for almost 2 weeks and am debating uninstalling.
I would advise doing it with another person before uninstalling
You do not need to do Micah's quests, that is not true. I have proof that I still had part of it unfinished and still was able to get the steps done to unlock the Dual Destiny node.
Do the witches need to be in order?
I don't know so to be safe just do them in the order that I showed in the video.

No. But you have to do it all in one run. The moment you go to orbit it resets and you have to do it all over again.

I mean the whole video explains everything you need to do from getting the quest to the whole mission watch it again buuut if I understand you gotta do the call outs quick then shoot the 1 crux thing you both have matching before it changes

Sorry if I wasn't clear. While you do have to get 3 correct in a row, you don't have to get 3 of the patterns in a row. You are allowed to let the patterns change and if they change without you shooting anything, it's okay, it will not reset you. However the second you get one wrong, you have to restart all over and do 3 again.

micah doesnt have a quest for me and it still isnt giving me the message when i finish an overthrow, ive been doing this for 3 days and im losing my mind
You should try doing it with a partner. See if that fixes it and let me know
Do u read left to right if so why would you put 9 on left side 1 on rignt ....
My reasoning for this is because the final encounter's cruxes are spread out in a clock anyway where you read clockwise. I felt it was just easier to keep it the same between 2nd and 3rd encounter callouts instead of having you read left to right one time than right to left the next. But you can absolutely read the 2nd encounter's set counter clockwise if you prefer, there's nothing wrong with it. Whatever works for you

Exactly. That may be an easier way of doing it for some people. You don't even necessarily have to have your duo spit out all 6 numbers in a row. You can have them go one by one and wait for your confirmation on whether or not you also have it tethered. It'll be slower this way and this can be difficult if there's a lot of adds.
I prefer to do it by having my teammate just calling out the empty (untethered) spaces. That was since I'm the shooter, all I have to do is ignore the spots on my end that are empty and also just avoid hitting any numbers my teammate called out, which leaves me with 3 spaces.
