I was 10 when The Phantom Menace came out. I remember walking into Walmart and seeing the toys. I must have bought 15 that day. I was ecstatic. That was the first time I had been really excited and happy in about a year. My dad was a Federal Agent, and he was killed in a helicopter crash the summer before. I read the Episode 1 graphic novel on the way to a memorial service. Star Wars helped me get through a tough time. Thanks George Lucas!
@@Owen-ub3fv not really, not my Walmart anyway. They barely have any Star Wars stuff on their pegs, even the stuff that's supposed to exclusive to them.
Thanks for visiting our store! As for the Kenner line glass casing, those Are for sale. The reason behind the No pricing, is due to the fact pricing changes on those daily, so it's a head manager answer to get a pricing on those.
I applaud the efforts of your store and like the idea. However, your store is super sterile and has no life or excitement to it. No action. Just very very bland. I would stroll the Star Wars aisle in Lionel PLayworld as a kid in 1978 and Star Wars was an event. There was excitement swelling up and busting out when you hit that aisle. It was PACKED and had a life to it. We allll have opinions on how people should run their business, I understand. But take it from someone who lived it.
@@adamwest3266 how many people did you see in this store? 2? were they browsing the phantom menace figures (the cheapest ones). does that imply this business is not rolling in dough and you should be glad it even exists?

this is finally the one time im excited about living in texas, usually its like "look at this super dope lego store, on in Denmark" XD LETS GO, i love anything star wars too obviously.
Yeah “fun”… until a creepy Pete swings on in, oh no there I was a couple drinks in down in the Austin oh no here he comes here he comes, act casual. TOAST too late, I’m really the screwed goose here now now wow wow
Damn, seeing the packaged episode 2 line really hits the nostalgia hard!! That was the first star wars film I ever saw and that figure line in those packages was just outstanding! Playsets and vehicles were all amazing and fresh as well (the jedi Starfighter was a personal favourite)
What a great video. I would love to visit Holocron some day. The store you showed in the mall with the 12 backs I had to pause on that classic Kenner gold!
Thanks Luke for sharing your thoughts on these shops that sell Star Wars items. The area I live in has comic book shops, but no dedicated Star Wars shops that I have come across. I'm glad to see other parts of the country that have these shops for fans to shop from. Thanks again for sharing this information with us. I'll have to check out their website for some figures and prices. Thanks again and take care, Tom
Now if only they had a star trek store like this with all the 100's of figures, toy ships, and role playing accessories from multiple companies across the different decades!
I have been to the Holocron store in Ft. Worth where it first started years ago. Yes they are a little pricey, but at least their inventory is incredible. I still love the original classic Kenner line up. I even seen an original 12 back vinyl cape Jawa fro $50,000 w/certificate of authenticity. You can also sell/trade your collection for something you don't have. I never heard of Outlaw Moon collectables before, but I'm not from Austin, TX. I live in Midlothian. You should try Dallas Vintage Toys in Dallas, TX. They have a lot of SW from classic to present.
I regularly go to the Fort Worth Holocron store and it is awesome to see that much Star Wars goodness in one store. I've definitely found some bargains and hard to get figures there. I didn't know they had a store in Austin as well...I'll have to visit it next time I head that way!
Dream come true. 3.75 vintage and black series please Got a mean 3.75 collection going back to power of the force.saga legends was cool 30th anniversary covered all the bases.
Literally went to this store yesterday. Absolutely loved it! Bought myself Ezra Bridger and Kit Fisto from Black series. Can't wait to go back there again!😁
In 1978 I would walk up and down the Star Wars aisle in Lionel Playworld completely hypnotized until I honed in on the toy I wanted. The Star Wars aisles were impressive. Burned into my memory. Now in my 50's I watch this video and this store has none of the magic that ONE aisle had. I know I know... I was a kid then, but even the adults were excited and it was an event.
I can't help but to agree, and a lot of it is volume. It's been in continuous production since 1994, and Hasbro never gave it a chance to appreciate before shoveling out more.
Love the location in fort worth, I normally try to get my figures from there but like you said the prices are all over the place, Still a really cool store to walk into
I worked in a toys r us when Episode One came out. There was an entire aisle (plus some more) of Star Wars toys. The special edition trilogy had come out two years before also, so there was a lot of SW merch.
There is a Holocron here in Ft. Worth that is just as well curatored as this store but the prices on basic black series figures that should also be at big box stores are marked up like a flippers ebay.
They can't sell Star Wars toys at normal stores anymore, I can't imagine this store is going to last. Oddly enough, I didn't see any Hot Toys in the store, which seems to be the most reliable selling Star Wars collectibles for adult collectors.
Back in the 90s to mid 2000s this would have been great since you could sell the packaged toys for a pretty penny but I dont think collecting toys and especially star wars toys is worth anything other than for the nostalgia.
@@KentKaliber Only because the generation that collected them originally is still alive. It remains to be seen if the old toys will hold their value in another 20 years. There are many things like old English china which have declined in value due to lack of interest amongst people under 50.
I was literally just thinking as a toy store owner myself how the fuck can they afford to pay for this place or make money with Star Wars. Star wars hasnt been profitable since 2014
Stay away it’s all over priced badly. The tvc clone 4 pack is 90 bucks there…… yeah it’s on Amazon right now for 38 and when it went for retail it was between 44-55 if I remember correctly. It’s a nostalgia trip for sure but that’s all it’s good for
Amazing video. I hope I'll be able to visit these stores in the future. I've been checking and I couldn't see any Unleashed battle pack, it's impossible to find them xD
Looks like a lot of the more modern series of figs. I wonder if there is a store with the 2000-2010 stuff. I am talking Battle of Geonosis Jedi Army packs era. Lots of rare figs came out then.
If I still collected star wars stuff I'd actually book a 14 holiday in Texas just so I could spend money there ( I live in England and good toy shops are a thing of the past ) .

I went to Outlaw Moon last year. I asked the owner how much for the Vintage Collection Republic Gunship and he said $1,000. I'm glad it still hasn't sold. That price is horrible.
