The ME who performed the autopsy was very specific about her being surgically bisected. The ME was very disturbed by this knowledge.

Fun fact about the lividity: The name for that is Liver mortis. There are 3 types of mortis- 1.) Rigor mortis (body gets stiff and then eventually goes limp again), 2.) Liver mortis (blood of body pools toward the pull of gravity), 3.) A cool fact about the Elizabeth Short case is that she was identified very quickly (less than an hour I believe) after the FBI received her fingerprints from LA via a very early form of a fax machine, called a SoundPhoto. It was the first police investigation that used SoundPhoto, which was up to that point, just used by the news media.
George Hodel’s family has a podcast “root of evil” and his son (retired Hollywood detective) had his hand writing compared with the letters the cops had it was a match. He did it!

Root of Evil is an amazing account of the crime from the Hodel family. If ya’ll liked that. Steve’s book is totally worth checking out.
It was definitely George. There is a podcast that his great granddaughter did on the family and how crazy George was. I highly recommend it. Root of Evil: The true story of the Hodel family. It left me convinced it was him because of all the links that are explained.
Ok maybe Red was the person on the other end of the line when George was discussing about shutting the woman up with a pillow. Maybe Red and George were sickening accomplices. Back in those days, they could have talked on the phone all day long and there was no way to track the caller if I'm not mistaken. And, no cell phones to track movement. They could have worked together under the cover of darkness only.
The only reason I found out about the black dahlia case is because of American horror story and I was so confused about who Elizabeth short was (I'm not from America) then I found about black dahlia case being a true case. Fun fact about the lividity: The name for that is Liver mortis. There are 3 types of mortis- 1.) Rigor mortis (body gets stiff and then eventually goes limp again), 2.) Liver mortis (blood of body pools toward the pull of gravity), 3.) Algor mortis (the cooling of the body after death); investigators can use all of these (with some basic math) to figure if the body was moved and time of death
wow thanks for this! I learned this in school and totally forgot about it

I'm totally addicted to this girl!!
P.S. I Paint all my foot fingers 'cause mom used me to think " if something happens suddendly and someone has to take off your socks or shoes you MUST be ok " ahahahhaha.
I'm always amazed by the seemingly common thread of the extremely shoddy police work in these cases. That and if they have 💰 they get away with it are constants.

Elizabeth Short wanted to be famous/known...but got it in the most disgusting, horrific way possible. RIP you beautiful soul.
A cool fact about the Elizabeth Short case is that she was identified very quickly (less than an hour I believe) after the FBI received her fingerprints from LA via a very early form of a fax machine, called a SoundPhoto. It was the first police investigation that used SoundPhoto, which was up to that point, just used by the news media.
I wouldn’t call that cool I would call that releaful
George Hodel’s family has a podcast “root of evil” and his son (retired Hollywood detective) had his hand writing compared with the letters the cops had it was a match. He did it!
That podcast was so informative. George Hodel totally did it.
Was getting ready to post about that podcast when I saw this post. He had a lot more than handwriting samples. George Hodel totally did it.
YAAAS! This podcast was amazing!!
The book Steve Hodel (George Hodel’s son) wrote is called the Black Dahlia Avenger. There are pictures of the letters and other damning information. I loved the podcast too. Root of Evil is an amazing account of the crime from the Hodel family. If ya’ll liked that. Steve’s book is totally worth checking out.

It was totally George. I read on article on all the evidence his son collected on his dad and it's almost impossible for it to not be him

😂😂😂😂
Let's raise our cool aid cup on that!
If Bailey was a detective during interviewing she'd just roll her eyes and say "Suspish"😂

Mother Bailey...
I always had the belief that the Doctor was involved but that it was more so that this happened at one of his "parties." Like she was the "attraction" and he allowed his guests to do whatever they wanted. Which is why so many different things were done to her body, like the hair, face, and tic tac toe game.
there's a huge case in Philippines about a woman cut up in pieces much like black dahlia's m.o. and it coinsides with the time George was in Ph..
That's the chop-chop lady right?
Im from the Philippines and I think the name of that girl is Lucila Lalu. I don't know much about it bcoz it was a long time ago 1967 and I was just 6 yrs old when that happened. She was the "Original" Chop Chop Lady.
😳 definitely looking into this!
Suspish!
@@marrisaarcilla2375 yes, his son steve theorized it because of the huge similarities of m.o. and his residence that time was conveniently close to where lucila's torso was found. :( but we'll never know bc the case is unsolved and a lot of the evidence are lost. May she rest in piece.
the guy who picked her up was named “red” and her two big toes were painted red? i’m not far into the video but suspishhhhh ...
I thought the same thing
🤟🏽💯
I thought that too
I’m not sure, red was the most popular color to wear then because it was the norm.
@@angelkean3364 no I just thought that at the beginning of the video when she was saying her roommate saw her leave with someone named red. I think it’s the doctor. Her body was so meticulously cut in half and drained of all her blood and I think that, most likely, that would be the work of a doctor
