The Philippines says it has built a coast guard station on Thitu Island, which is part of the contested Spratly Islands. Officials said the facility, expected to be operational in early 2024, aims to improve monitoring of Chinese vessels. No country recognize West Philippine Sea. You don’t even know that it’s pertains to the sea within the Philippines 200 nautical miles EEZ. Thitu Island is outside the Philippines EEZ so it correct to say it’s in the South China Sea.

The scs is a term used for the whole sea while the wps is the term used to refer to the part awarded to the Philippines by the Hague’s permanent court of arbitration

That is not a disputed water because it is the Philippines within EEZ and territory 200miles from the last shore of Philippines..
Actually Pag-asa island is 310 miles away from the nearest shores of the Philippines. According from the University of the Philippines Institute for Maritime Affairs and Law of the Sea, the Philippines claims that area as a territory not by EEZ but by effective occupation and control.

Philippines used to call it Dagat Timog Tsina in tagalog, meaning South China Sea. Up until 2011, they started calling it the West Philippines Sea. In other words, Filipinos and their obsession with the SCS was a recent event
With that Logic, Indian ocean is owned exclusively by India. It was changed locally as West Philippine Sea to make a point.
Dagat Timog Tsina is just a Tagalog translation of South China Sea. PHL has a lot of dialects. We as a Visayan do not use that word. You know nothing. Scarborough Shoal was already part of the PHL way back 1700 during Spanish occupation. Chyna is not the one who named the Champa Sea a SCS. Western countries and Japan is the one who named it SCS during Pre-WWII because it is close to the South part of China land. How can Chyna own SCS when they don't even the one who named it?
