The amazing Barceló Maya Grand Resort is all inclusive and located in Riviera Maya. It is just 45 minutes away from the Cancun airport. The grounds are miles long and it is very safe. I attended a wedding here and we decided to take a weeks vacation as well. The resort has six different sections including the Adults Only Barcelo Maya Riviera, Barcelo Maya Palace, Barcelo Maya Caribe, Barcelo Maya Colonial, Barcelo Maya Beach, and Barcelo Maya Tropical. During our stay in October 2020, the Caribe, Beach and Tropical section were closed. It is rumored that the Colonial section will re close until after the winter slow season but beach activities will resume. The staff did a great job with traveling during COVID and I felt safe the entire trip. I heard about fees to use the water slide sections, also about people getting sick from drinking the water. Can you tell me about the quality of the food and extra costs for certain sections?
Hi! The waterpark I show in this video is free but is for kids. They do have another one adults can do that has slightly larger slides and a flow rider and that is $20 per person each day you what to do that. Currently that is closed however. The free one in the palace section is open right now. As far as the water, you can get sick from Mexico water but Barcelo resort has filtered water through the entire resort and the restaurants use completely purified water for cooking. But they give you unlimited amounts of bottled water so that is what I drink my entire stay. :)

@@claudetteallen5309 I think if I had teens I’d stay near the water activities which is at the Colonial or at the Caribe which has the mall with the arcade and bowling. Luckily those two are right next to each other as well and you can get to them very easy and fast from both sections.

Looking at booking for April 3rd for a 10 day stay with my wife. Glad this was an honest look at the grounds and scenery and know what to expect. Honestly from experience Barcelo, Iberostar and Grand Palladium resorts always have the best spots in terms of variety and how big the resorts are!
I love big resorts! I see a lot of popular resorts but then they only have one or two small pools. I stayed at the Grand Palladium in Jamaica two years ago and loved it as well. I did find that Barcelo had a much better beach and up keeping but that could also just be their location they got in the different countries. 10 nights is what we did on our honeymoon at Barcelo 5 years ago. Its the best to be able to stay that long! Have fun!

Depending how long you are staying it could be another $400-600 for two. If you think you would eat room service that much and benefit from eating out every night instead of 3-4 then yes. For me it wasn’t. Hydrotherapy and upgraded booze is included as well. We did it the first time and it has its perks for check in too but I only like to book premium if I can book a premium room at a good rate instead of a regular room with a premium band.

We stayed at the adults only ocean front room and the bed was HUGE and the most comfortable bed we have slept in at a resort. We have been to many resorts. We booked another trip here! The Valentin Imperial Maya is also AMAZING.

Hello I don't see your other videos u had up here they were so informative.. im booked for the the Tropical in a standard room however the more I look at it...It looks dated im thinking of switching buildings or hotels can u recommend one...im traveling with a soon to be 21yr old ..and as beautiful as Barcelo is I need some night life..

I just got back from a different trip yesterday so I am planning to have that up this week again before I start those videos! I would recommend the Adults only section if you are looking for more updates and then you have access to all the sections. The night life at that section was best when I went. :)

Yes, you have unlimited food and drinks at the other sections as well!
If you stay at the palace, can you go to the adults only pool/bar for a fee? Or just restaurants
Technically just restaurants. I don’t think they would turn you away if you wanted to explore it and see if you liked it but they do have different wristbands so getting a drink would be the issue
Hi there! Thank you for the video! We are wanting to take our daughter and friend as a college grad gift and wondering what the mask policy is. We thought about Maui and they are saying you have to pretty much wear masks everywhere. Is that true for this resort or no? TIA!
Hi! They do have a mask policy in the lobby, buffets, inside bars and restaurants until eating. Most of the resort is outside so you do not have to wear them walking around by the pool or beach. Even the theaters are open air. There’s tons of space to not be on top of people as well. And all staff wears them at all times, even outside 👍🏻
Are the jet skis on the beach all the time? Do you know how much they were? 🥰
Yes they are on the beach during the entire day! They were $65 for a half hour.
Were there shows at the theater like magic shows or Michael Jackson shows etc.?
They had a Michael Jackson and a circus show when I went. Most of their shows are popular songs sang by their performers with dancers :)
Do the pools closed down or are they open 24/7?
Normally the hours are 8-10 but I did hear that it is now 8-8 because of extra covid measures. I feel that I was in the pool around 8 in October (I know it was dark) and nobody was rushing us out :)
Will be staying at the AO this January. How is the weather then? Is it pleasant, or warm/chilly?
The weather is nice! The pool at the AO may be a little more chilly then. But the other pools are nicer for some reason that time of year
For all inclusive guest do we pay for Covid test to return to the USA?
It is not included. They did lower it to $18 dollars per person for USA antigen testing. If going to a country that needs PCR it is $90.
