This was a great video! We are traveling with a 1 yr old. Looking to stay at the palace Are any of the restaurants adults only? Also I’m seeing you can only choose 2 restaurants? How does that work? I want to be able to go to any of the restaurants. Thanks in advance
Hello and thank you! Any palace restaurant can have kids eat/come in with you. As far as how many restaurants you can go to depends on how many days you stay. 3 nights one voucher for a restaurant. 4-5 nights two vouchers. 6 nights three vouchers. 7 nights four vouchers. 8 nights five vouchers. 9-10 nights seven vouchers. 11-12 nights eight vouchers. 13 nights nine vouchers. 14 nights ten vouchers. Premium Level guests have unlimited vouchers. Hope this helped!
@BrittsGoodGetaways so in 7 nights, you can only go to restaurants 4 times? I haven't seen this voucher system mentioned in any other video or on line reviews, so I'm confused 😀
Great video. Covered all the important points. I've been researching this property for days, and your video gave me the information to decide where to stay.
I watch a ton of you tube and rarely comment. But wow did you do a great job on this. You answered literally every questions that I had in one video without a ton of personal filler information. Thank you so much.
This was such an amazingly informative video. I was unsure which to choose at first. I wasn’t even sure about this location. Mexico is my favorite place but I’ve never been to this part. I love how once you stay at one, you can access the others, therefore so many more restaurant options. I’ve decided to stay at Colonial, right in the middle. Awesome vid!
This is amazing! My husband proposed to me in the Mexican Restaurant in 2016 and afterwards set out on the lighted are surrounded by water. It was so beautiful! Loved eating at Captain Morgan's and the beach at sunrise! I had the best time! Thank you Barcelo Maya Resort! It was the ultimate vacation experience! I had no idea there was so much more to this resort. Thank you for all the pictures and info. We want to go back!
This video showed such a fascinating review about all the sections in the entire grand resort. My family stayed at Maya Beach in 2017 and Maya Palace just about a week ago. Maya Beach has entertaining shows every night. The pools and beaches are exceedingly clean and clear. The staff are quite pleasant and the food was great (especially the buffet). We ate at the Maya Mall once at La Trattoria and the food there was delicious, mostly because I love Italian food. Maya Palace has a larger "grand" pool than Maya Beach for everyone and also offers a kids' waterpark with many extraordinary water slides for children. The beach isn't at the best location due to the amount of rocks covering the shore, but there are many palm trees that allow you to sit in relaxing beach chairs in the shade. There are also many exciting and fun activities that Maya Palace offers you such as snorkeling in the ocean, swimming with the turtles, parasailing, and much more (some of these water activities are at Maya Beach as well). The food there is delectable and very delicious. I went to three restaurants, all different types of food. There was seafood, French, and Brazilian restaurants. The buffet and grill is also very good, with unique varieties of food to try every day and every meal. Overall, this resort is extremely amazing, 5/5. The bars are amazing, and the entertainment at the Maya Mall is fun as well. The pools are overall mostly clean and safe. The food that the staff work hard on making makes the resort much better. The hotels are not bad are fairly clean. The staff is really nice if you equally respect them. I recommend visiting and staying at this amazing resort for at least a week, because it is totally worth it!
Looking to stay here next month, confused about the vouchers for restaurants that she mentioned in previous comment. Being all inclusive I thought you can eat at any restaurant?
@@BrittsGoodGetaways Thank you! You did amazing on your video as well. We're staying at Colonial in November and I was wondering if the vouchers for Palace are the same for every other lower-class section (Tropical, Colonial, Caribe, Beach). For instance, staying for 7 nights at Palace offers you 4 vouchers a restaurant. Is this the same for Colonial as well?
@@naila8989 I know it is slightly confusing. You can eat at 4 restaurants over a 7 night stay. It goes up the more you stay. If you stay at the adults only you have unlimited vouchers.

I'm going for the first time ever to a resort and I choose this one in Cancun, I will stay at maya beach side thank you for this video I can't wait to be there 🤗🍻✈
We’ve been looking endlessly to find the best resort to accommodate (a little something for everyone) for our family (3 kids - age 21, 19, and 11), in-laws, and 2 friends. Hands down your overview was truly the best one. Thank you for helping us make our decision!!
This is def one of our fave resorts in the region. This is an excellent video, very informative! And spot on. We prefer Colonial, the Tropical side is just a little louder, and that side of the pool is louder too. The theatre here is NOT t be missed. I find that the Palenque theatre really is the best and most comfortable and also the best seating. The shows are top notch!
Beautifully shot and very informative video! My wife and I stayed there a few years ago and we’re now hoping to return this winter and stay at the adults only section (was not yet developed on our visit). Thanks for the great video!
My wife and I stayed at the colonial 2 years ago, we loved it amazing time , Wonderful service , we expected to be there first week November , However this time we’ll try the palace
Very nice informative video. Thank you for posting that. My family and I stayed at the Barcelo Maya Beach resort back in 2010 & 2012. Water was amazing, beautiful, and breath taking! My husband wanted to celebrate our anniversary last year in the same resort. Unfortunately, it was booked so we stayed down the road at the Sirenis something resort. I would never stay there again!! It was way to big and spread out. They were rude if you weren't a member. And the rooms were very hot. Anyhow, the water was so ugly and nasty! The seaweed was horrible. Apparently, the seaweed in the summer time is very bad in Cancun. We were so upset! So, we did an excursion to Cozumel and were finally able to see the beautiful water that we had seen before. We would love to stay at the Barcelo Maya resorts again in the Summer to celebrate our anniversary. But, with the seaweed being gross, it doesn't look like we will be able to. That is why we are going to be staying in Cozumel the week of Aug. 15th. When the water turns blue again, we will definitely be staying at the Barcelo Maya Riviera - Adults only resort!! Oh to sit under a palm tree, have a drink, and listen to the waves roll in is a relaxing enjoyment that I miss!!
Thanks for that insight because I want to check out some other resorts but I am scared about wasting money when I know what to expect out of Barcelo! And yes the seaweed can be a issue in summer. Especially if there is a storm that recently came or about to come which you can’t plan around :(. Enjoy your time in Cozumel! Happy anniversary
@@BrittsGoodGetaways thanks so much! Do you know when the season is for seaweed? Like when does it start rolling in really bad? And when does it go away? I've heard different times from many different people that have stayed there. We really would like to stay there again! And soon!!
Thank your for this comprehensive video. The new Adults only hotel/resort looks fantastic. My last stay at Maya Beach was an "experience". We had no idea that Crash My Playa Counry Music Festival is held annually in the now Adults side every year around January 20 for 4 days. My room in Maya Beach felt like it was in the middle of the stage. I could not sleep for 4 days. The relative who booked their wedding here did not do their research.
Great overview of the resort. My wife and I have been there 2x, both times in the Colonial. 1st visit was in premium oceanfront (actually poolfront), second was just a few doors back from there in a standard room. It is our favorite resort to date with fantastic food and some of the clearest water we've had in Mexico. Our the transfers quite seamless? We've always used the bus included with the resort, but would like to get there faster after a long flight. Ray
@@marymurphy7293 We liked premium for the location mainly and a few extra perks, but the second time we were a few doors down from the front (premium) right across from the theatre. Also a great location. I wouldn't pay too much more for the premium option unless I really wanted the pool/oceanfront. It is fun to sit there at the end of a beach day and watch people coming back in from the beach and pools, while you sip on a drink and play cards or read a book.
The transfers are very easy! We went with USA transfers and other family went with Kalido. They were very professional and waiting for us when we arrived. They do not stop at other resorts so it was a straight easy shot to paradise :)
Thank you my 3rd time here and I must say I watch your video, now I'm a pro here lol. I'm at Maya caribe, I was lost so I UA-cam and your video popped up.
I love this video, very informative. I'm traveling with my family to Barcelo Maya Tropical in January, 2024. In this video Brittney mentions swimming with dolphins for an extra cost at the Colonial. Does anyone know how much it currently is to swim with the dolphins and should we book in advance?
I wish I could give you a recent update. My parents just went to stay at the tropical but they upgraded them to Adults Only. They still went to the shows, pool and dining in that area a few days!
Haha Thank you!! Bowling is 15 per person and go karts is 28 for the ride section which includes more than go karts or 42 that includes the fly section too like zip lines. I have a video that goes in more detail about it if you’re interested! Right now the bowling is open but the go kart area is still closed.
Undecided on which to stay at. Family of 4 kids, 19,22, leaning towards Palace. Though, It's $500 more. They all look great. $500 could be used on excursions.
Thanks for your video? Do you know if each section has its own kids club? Which section would you recommend if traveling with a newly minted 4 year old. Nervous it’s too big to get around with a kiddo in tow. Would rather not bring a stroller…
The Beach and Caribe share a kid's club. The Colonial and Tropical share a kid's club. Then the palace has its own club. I would recommend staying at the caribe or colonial section. That is center to most the activities and kid slides that way you will have to do the least amount of walking. The beach is also great there. I can let you know more in 2 weeks because my brother will be staying there with his almost 4 year old in June!
Hi Britt, thank you so much for u video. We are planing to stay at hotel at Palace Barcelo so Can I go to the any restaurant without reservation except Adults Riviera section? Thanks for u answer.
Hello! You do need reservations regardless of anywhere you stay. I recommend making them as soon as you check in. But yes you can choose from any of the restaurants in all sections besides the adults area.
Fantastic review!! Thank you for making it, so thorough! If we stay at Colonial are we able to use the pools at the palace side so my kids can use that splash pad area?
If you stay at colonial you cannot use the splash area at the palace but the colonial does have its own and very similar splash pad area! And at colonial you can use the beach, tropical and caribe sections too.
So the Caribe, Tropical, Colonial, and Maya Beach are all pretty much interchangeable? So you are able to utilized all of the pools, activities, and restaurants no matter which one you stay at? Which would you recommend for a family of 4 - 2 daughters (7, and 10)
That is correct!! If i had to pick one, I think I’d go with caribe. It’s center of activities and has a great pool. The beach section has the shows, caribe in the middle has the mall with putt putt/bowling and colonial on its other side has the water park and vendor shopping. I prefer not a lot of walking when with kids!
Thank you! We had difficulty booking for our whole group! We had to split it up. I was fine if I just wanted to book with my husband. I recommend booking right after check in :)
By far the most informative video about this entire complex. Also, when you’re referring to upgrading your meal to adults only for 20$, what exactly do you mean ? Per meal, per day, per restaurant?
Thank you! And each person would have to pay that cost for their meal per restaurant. So if you go multiple days then you would have to pay that each time. Hope that helps!
Thank you so much for this video! We have been to both tropical and the new adults one only. We LOVED the new adults one. It was amazing. However, now we are traveling back with a baby. Out of the other 5 do you have a favorite? I really can’t decide! I’m thinking either colonial, caribe or the beach one. Thank you!
Caribe is my favorite out of those! But depending on the baby’s age it might be fun to be super close to the water play area at colonial. Regardless, it’s not a far walk and can’t go wrong between any of them. Have fun!
Loved the video ! I am going in February and staying at the adults only section, my only concern is we are allowed to eat in the other resorts restaurants, snacks , bar, and buffets. Also if the room service is free or at additional cost and the mini bar is it free of charge to use what is inside. I been to other resorts where they had water refilled in the room everyday so I’m also curious if they provide daily water bottles in the rooms. How was the night club also ? Thank you !!
Yes staying at the adults only you can eat at the restaurants of all the other resorts as well as their buffets/bars! Room service is an additional cost typically unless you are premium which also gives you access to top shelf alcohol. And whatever is in the mini bar is all yours at no cost! They refill that mini fridge in your room every time they clean your room so as long as you get daily housekeeping. I would always grab a couple waters before bed from the bar as well. The night club is still closed as far as I know. It was fun when I went when it was open. They do play Mexico’s popular music a lot however which is fun to feel the culture but I also like a nice mix up :)
what a great, informative video! Is their a "heirachy" at which other sites you can visit? for example, if I were to stay at Maya Beach, could I go to all the pools/bars/restaurants at caribe and colonial??
Yes the Maya beach, caribe, colonial and tropical are all equal and you can travel and eat amongst them. They are very close together. The palace is the next highest up and then after is the adults only or Maya riviera section that is at the top of the hierarchy list.
I have a trip planned with my adult son's in September for my 50th. We are booked for Colonial right now. I'm curious as to what the difference would be if we opted to upgrade. I'm wondering if it's worth the extra cost. Feeback is appreciated. Thank you!
That sounds like an amazing time! Do you mean upgrade to premium or upgrade to the more expensive sections of the resort? If you get a premium pass you get room service, shorter line for check in (there is a premium lounge) , unlimited restaurant bookings, premium beverages and 20% off at the spa. I have done premium before and did enjoy it, but it was not a must have. If you guys are late night eaters, the room service portion may be worth it! If you meant upgrading to the higher sections (adult only or palace) you would be open to the food and entertainment in those areas that otherwise you would not see. At Colonial you can visit the Beach, Tropical or Caribe. I personally like being able to go to the entire resort but it all depends on the cost. The Colonial is a great section right in the middle of the fun! I would just say its all price depending. You will have a blast either way!
Thank you so much for this video! Definitely really helpful! We're going to be traveling with an 8, 4, and 1 year old; any recommendations on which section to stay based off of their ages? Thanks again!
Thank you! I would stay at caribe or colonial. It’s right in the middle of all the action so you do not have to walk super far with young kids and it has most the water activities and water parks around that area too!
Thanks for the great video!! Can I ask which resort you would recommend going with a 4 year old? Also, if you stay at the palace does it give you access everywhere? It is a little confusing!! lol
The colonial has the best kid section out of the 4 that are equal. Palace really just gives access to itself and then the 4 others but not the adult only which doesn’t matter anyways traveling with a kid. If you stay at the other 4 you can’t go into the palace or it’s restaurants. Palace also has a kid section by the pool. I wouldn’t say it’s anything more amazing than the one at colonial for a 4 year old. I have a 4 year old as well and am itching to take her!
You rent theirs so if you want to do it at your own leisure and multiple times then yes! But if you don’t have a lot of space or weight for your luggage, you will be okay with theirs
Amazing video!! Just wondering if you remember if they still don’t allow food around the pool? I went to Maya Beach in 2016 and they did not let us eat around the pool.
Thank you! And I wish I could let you know but honestly it never crossed my mind while there. I will say now that I think of it, I never saw anyone eating by the pool and that they do not have to go box’s at the buffets. Sorry wish I could help more!
If you are at the sidewalk area it’s just a few minutes! What takes longer is how far your room may be. One time I stayed at the farthest end of the adult only and it took a bit just to just get to the lobby!
That is a hard one! If the price is not insanely higher the palace is nice because you have a whole extra section. Less kids go to that water play area/splash zone since it’s exclusive to the palace guests and food is better typically. However I do like the beach area a little closer to the colonial since it’s less rocky. Either option really is good. I would just say if it’s not a whole lot more money to book the palace but if it’s a lot more then it may not be worth it because the middle sections are great too!
Awesome video! Follow up question: My family wants to stay at Caribe, but still be able to eat at the Palace and Adult only a la carte restaurants. Is this possible? I thought I saw somewhere that you can do that if you pay $20-30 more per person per reservation? Also confused on the reservations. We’re staying 4 nights but only get 2 vouchers?
Thank you! And yes you can pay to eat at those restaurants if you are staying at Caribe. If you are not premium, then for 4 nights you do get 2 vouchers for the restaurants. Buffets are the option for the other days. If you are premium, then you have unlimited restaurant usage. Enjoy your stay!!
Sadly, Ventura has go karts only now on select days. Last I knew, bowling was $15 a game per person. They have two separate doors for the escape room and I believe both have different themes.
Great Video! We plan on traveling with some friends late this month. Question, do they offer transportation between resorts or do you walk from one to the other? TIA
This video is so helpful, thank you for sharing! If we stay at the palace (2 adults), are we able to use the riviera (adults only resort) pools? The infinity pool and live DJ sounds nice.
Hi! Awesome video! I’m leaning toward booking at the Palace premium….mostly because of the restaurants and kid area but I’m wondering if I book at Caribe and pay for premium does that mean I have access to the Palace amenities?
Thank you so much! Regular premium will not give you access to the Palace. You will have to book a full size suite or swim out room at the Caribe to be able to use to Palace. Those are considered premium rooms. I know, it gets confusing!
This was a great video! We are traveling with a 1 yr old. Looking to stay at the palace Are any of the restaurants adults only? Also I’m seeing you can only choose 2 restaurants? How does that work? I want to be able to go to any of the restaurants. Thanks in advance

Beautifully shot and very informative video! My wife and I stayed there a few years ago and we’re now hoping to return this winter and stay at the adults only section (was not yet developed on our visit). Thanks for the great video!
Thank you so much! The adults only is a must see. You will enjoy it!
I’ve been to this resort and it’s great ‼️👍🏻👍🏻😎
I’m wanting to go back!
Great edits Britt
Thanks!
My wife and I stayed at the colonial 2 years ago, we loved it amazing time , Wonderful service , we expected to be there first week November , However this time we’ll try the palace
I’m glad you guys like it as much as I do. Have fun!!!
Thank you so much! This was such a detailed video. Now I know where to stay🥳

That means a lot! Thank you so much!
You're welcome 😉
I can't wait to see more of your videos in the future!!!!
Thanks for the thorough review. Very well done. You’ve helped me plan out my first trip to Cancun.
Thank you! So glad to help. Enjoy your trip 🌴
And soon!!
@@jackierangel5686 I have heard October- February is the best time!
Great tips! Looking forward to our stay.
Thank you! And enjoy!! ☀️
You’re welcome! And Ohhh yes I would definitely want to not be there when that is going on!
Thank you, you just clarified why I was having a hard time booking those days. Gonna to stear clear of those
Really enjoyed watching your video! We are booked to go to the adult section in November, fingers crossed 🤞🏻
I hope it works out! I really think the resort will be fully open by then!
Amazing video...Thank you!!
Thanks for watching!!
Ray
Hey Ray, do you recommend Premium? Currently trying to decide, first time visit
AWESOME VIDEO!!!!! THANK YOU! it helps me to choose the resort :)
So glad to help!
I'm here now best review ever period thank you
I’m jealous!! Have fun!!
Thank you my 3rd time here and I must say I watch your video, now I'm a pro here lol. I'm at Maya caribe, I was lost so I UA-cam and your video popped up.
@@josem6914 Awesome! That makes me so happy 😁
thank you so much, this video was so informative!! If we stay at Caribe is the waterpark extra? what is the cost PP? thank you
Thank you!!! I staying at caribe, the small water park at colonial is included but the larger one is 20 a day or 60 for the week per person
I love this video, very informative.
I'm traveling with my family to Barcelo Maya Tropical in January, 2024. In this video Brittney mentions swimming with dolphins for an extra cost at the Colonial. Does anyone know how much it currently is to swim with the dolphins and should we book in advance?
I’ve recently seen 79-99 per adult. You can always book prior but A lot of things are negotiable at Barcelo or discounted for the more people added on
And thanks for watching!
@@BrittsGoodGetaways thank you
Update after your trip! We to in February and are staying at the tropical so would love any tips or recommendations
I wish I could give you a recent update. My parents just went to stay at the tropical but they upgraded them to Adults Only. They still went to the shows, pool and dining in that area a few days!
Thank you! Our family is staying at the caribe in feb!
Yay have fun!!
Fantastic video… answered all the questions their website and Expedia didn’t give me!!!
Thank you so much!! Glad to help 👍🏻
Fantastic video. So happy I was able to catch this on UA-cam. Great job Brittany. Thanks for sharing!
I appreciate this. Thank you!!
Thank you for this video! I am booking at Barcelo and had not idea what suits best for our family. Now, I know! God bless you.
I’m so glad to help! God bless you too ☺️
Great Video! Thank you for taking The time!
My pleasure!
Here now
It’s unreal !!!
Enjoy! 🌴
Freaking Great Video... Soooo Helpful... thinking of going in 2 weeks!!! Do you remember how much the Bowling and Go kart stuff was?
Haha Thank you!! Bowling is 15 per person and go karts is 28 for the ride section which includes more than go karts or 42 that includes the fly section too like zip lines. I have a video that goes in more detail about it if you’re interested! Right now the bowling is open but the go kart area is still closed.
Undecided on which to stay at. Family of 4 kids, 19,22, leaning towards Palace. Though, It's $500 more. They all look great. $500 could be used on excursions.
That’s a hard call but personally I’d spend that on excursions
@@BrittsGoodGetawaysoh that would be awesome. Happy to help work with you on booking this! Any tips he returns with would be awesome!
And thank you!
Very informative!!! love it!! just wonder do you have any difficulty to book the restaurants there?
Thank you! We had difficulty booking for our whole group! We had to split it up. I was fine if I just wanted to book with my husband. I recommend booking right after check in :)
@@BrittsGoodGetaways thanks for your quick reply :)
Have fun!
I lovedddd your video! Great job!
Thank you!!!! 💕
This is an awesome informative video
Thanks for watching!
Fantastic video! Very helpful! Thanks.
Glad it helped!!
@@BrittsGoodGetaways ty so much I appreciate the answer.
I'd been educated, thank you! Was comparing Barcelo Occidental at Xcaret Destination (for the unlimited Xcaret) vs this.
You’re welcome! That is definitely on the list.
next week going to colonial with 2 kids 5 yo and 3 yo...cant wait
Have fun!!
what a great, informative video!
I would stay central location so you don’t have to do a lot of walking with the baby! Caribe or colonial 🙂
This video was amazing. I do have a question which would be best to stay at for young kids 10 and under?
Loved this! thanks for the information
Thanks for watching!
Do you recommend bringing your own snorkeling gear?
You rent theirs so if you want to do it at your own leisure and multiple times then yes! But if you don’t have a lot of space or weight for your luggage, you will be okay with theirs
Amazing video!! Just wondering if you remember if they still don’t allow food around the pool? I went to Maya Beach in 2016 and they did not let us eat around the pool.
Thank you! And I wish I could let you know but honestly it never crossed my mind while there. I will say now that I think of it, I never saw anyone eating by the pool and that they do not have to go box’s at the buffets. Sorry wish I could help more!
Thank you so much for sharing this. Can you tell me if it's too far to walk from adults only section to Caribe? Thanks
If you are at the sidewalk area it’s just a few minutes! What takes longer is how far your room may be. One time I stayed at the farthest end of the adult only and it took a bit just to just get to the lobby!
Hi! Amazing video thank you! Which section would you recommend staying at with children ages 6 & 10? I’m torn between colonial and palace? Thanks
Thank you!!
Video was very detailed and helpful. Do you know if Ventura park and night club are open now? We plan to go there on 16th :)
Thank you! And venture park is but the night club is yet to open
We are going in august to barcelo maya (new section) and absolutely loved your review of all the sections. It was very helpful!! Thanks!!
Have fun!! Thanks for watching :)
How was the weather in August last year? When in August did you go?
Did ventura park close down? How much is the bowling? Also dont they have 2 excape rooms
TIA
They have a transportation bus. But it is an easy walk for most. My grandma appreciated the transport 🙂
This video is so helpful, thank you for sharing! If we stay at the palace (2 adults), are we able to use the riviera (adults only resort) pools? The infinity pool and live DJ sounds nice.
Thanks for watching! Technically* no, you are not suppose to!
