I am glad I found your video, as I just bought a Ring Mailbox sensor and nowhere could I find that I could put the sensor anywhere else than inside the front mailbox door. I want to mount mine on the BACK of the inside, so that the mail deliverer does not rip it off accidentally. Again, excellent video.
If it works like the usual motion sensor, it should detect the mail so long as it's set up in a way that the mail would pass through its line of sight.

What about having two mailbox sensor in diferentes location of incoming mail
what about letterboxes that have a slot and don't get opened by the postman?
