Not Lazy mate - taking that apart is a nightmare. I did it with a wire coat hanger through the 'grill' on the right hand side. Quite why they made one side opening and the other side not is beyond me. Anyhoo it's one of those jobs that you learn to do when you hear that bizarre sloshing/swishing noise after heavy rain! Great C3 Picasso videos though - and that Celica is lovely!!!

Just to add to all previous comments, I had the same issue. Could hear water sloshing around which eventually effected the air con / heater (as the water was so high it was going into the air filter) and water started pooling on the driver's seat footwell. Thought I had to send it to the garage but found your video and it's worked a treat. I had found the problem and done the same as you suggested. But it was great to see other people had the issue. Its a poor design and living with Pine trees as we do is going to mean regular cleaning. The third hole deep in the offside bulkhead is easily missed. It appears to be a oval shaped grommet with a slot, I used my phone camera to find it and try to unblock it. It now all flows out nicely.

Have same motor - I kept hearing a 'swooshing' sound going round corners some times (not fast!) - I presumed it was the washer fluid (although I had never heard that noise in any previous car) - but have had the drivers mat sodden a couple of times - after heavy rain. It appears that it may be same blockage issue - another video mentions 'Bulkhead Drains Blocked' - I had never heard of this problem before, but thanks to your video the solution is hopefully within sight - nice one, thanks.

@@michelod.i.y.5202 Incidentally, what's your verdict on the C3 Picasso? We bought ours used low mileage, three years ago. I like diesels and the engine is really great, plenty of torque. You get a lot of goodies thrown in, but not so many as to confuse an old man. Only £30 road tax and £178 fully comp insurance.. But it does have quirks..

@@h54h52 I think you summarised it quite well. For the money you get quite a lot. And with that it's also it's weakness. The hdi engines are strong and reliable, it some of the other bits which aren't quite as well engineered quite as well as other brands. But I seem to have found that with all the French brands. (Nothing against the French) if you bought something German or Japanese you wouldn't get as much for your money. Just keep up with all the maintenance and you'll have happy motoring.

@@michelod.i.y.5202 Hey Michelo, It's been a bit sunnier today, so I unblocked our shower tray and then tackled the car (62 exclusive model) .. I saw on your vid that you ended up removing the plastic piece that allows access to the drainage area.
I used a torch to locate the two drainage points, and used a plumber's wire 'worm' to locate one drainage point and hook one plastic drain valve out. But then I realised I'd have to do what you did and remove the front. But after undoing the two nuts I still couldn't figure out how to remove the plastic moulding without breaking it. So using a hose pipe and stick I got the drainage valve out and cleaned it up. Put it back using the worm and stick in unison.. Job done.
On the driver's side I noticed there was a removable plastic access grid which allowed me to get to the second drainage point and using the hose pipe again I cleaned that out too. I noticed that above that was sited some sort of filter -like an air filter, which I'm guessing is the pollen filter?
Anyway after some cuts and bruises to the hands I finished the job. Not bad for an old fella!

@@rosskennedy7039 tricky with modern electrics, firstly establish if you are getting what through your heaters once the engine is warm. If so resistors or control sensor, actuators, etc. won't be the issue. If your in the UK at the moment there has been high levels of moisture in the atmosphere at the moment so wet windscreen is quite normal. It you've already carried out what is suggested in the video. I would suggest just drying the windscreen with a towel followed by putting the heating on max and importantly if your vehicle has it put the air conditioning on to speeds up clearing the screen clears up a lot quicker with it on. Also check thoroughly for any other leaks in the vehicle as this will also cause heavy conditions on the windows. Please don't forget to like and subscribe it would be very much appreciated. Thanks

Thankyou for this vid buddy. It's probably more important than you know!
C3 picasso has an infamous issue where screen wash water and screen runoff gets into the engine bay fuse box and causes a whole range of electrical gremlins. You pointing out all the drain holes, especially the one above the battery and fusebox, and showing how to clear them resolves the major electrical issue with this car.
As a dealer's price for correcting the fusebox water damage is around £1400 (including new wiring looms and even an upgraded washer pump plug and loom) you have helped save owners a small fortune!
So again, thankyou on behalf of myself and other owners of c3 picasso's.
