The past ewner Al Fayed was Egyptian & sold the Store to The State of Qatar, The Egyptian theme & the English Elegant Vive makes this store the best in my eyes, Congratulations for the work well done Hanna.
The Egyptian theme comes from the old Egyptian owner of Harrods Mohamed el Fayed .. his son dodi was the chap who died in the car crash with lady Diana , lovely video..

A Lamington is an Australian cake. It is a sponge cake dipped in a chocolate sauce that slightly permeates into the sponge then rolled in coconut. It is as iconic as Vegemite 💕🦘

Love your videos I am a single mom with two teenagers and crohns disease so I cant get out to do fun things . Love seeing all the lights and things. The food all looks so good. I only eat one meal a day so it all looks so good. thank you for letting me forget about things for a short time. your living your best life !

Well done!! I would say you just saved me a trip to London but still planning on coming over to check out Selfridges after watching the series with Jeremy Piven awhile ago. The food hall looks fantastic! I bet video doesn't even do it justice. Thank you.

Oh wait I was just nearby at the Mandarin Oriental hotel! I think harrods and f&m are my favourite places to feel Christmassy (even if I don’t buy anything). Jo Malone candles are totally worth it though, the scent is pretty intense!

The Harrods red water bottles looked exactly like my branded one.. Which because it's double lined.. Keeps your drink cold by 30c + and keeps hot drinks hot for hours.. I only have these metal bottles for my kids and I. They are good for the environment because metal, so almost indestructable and easy to clean. They are just brilliant! We have been using ours for years.
Lovely vlog. I am watching all you old Christmas ones at the end of September.. I just feel I need some Christmas magic and cosy at the moment 🤣
The Egyptian Mohammed Al-Fayed (Princess Diana's last boyfriends father) owned it from the early 1980s until recently when he sold it to Quatar.. I am sure that is why a lot of Egyptian influences are in the interior design.

I’d have definitely bought some foodie bits and bobs for my dinner and made a makeshift afternoon tea out of it. A few of those patisserie cakes, a sandwich, a sausage roll type pastry, with a pot of tea.....then lit candles in my living room, snuggled up in the plushest blanket and would watch a Christmassy movie. This in itself would be rewarding enough....despite not having the money to buy much else.

Always loved the stores that did Christmas scenes in the windows as a kid but it doesn't seem to be a thing over here anymore. Glad to see its still popular in 2019 in London England.
Brands buy the windows with an agreed theme... they do look nice though but it's not the same!
I was there on the 18th as well! I bought some chocolates and some pies. (And tried on a couple of expensive watches)

When Harrods was created Egyptian was the Instagram and Pinterest of design. Seriously between the 1890s till about WWII everybody wanted everything and anything involving the ancient Egypt culture. This included art, architecture, clothing and makeup.

You were wondering why Harrods has a lot Egyptian theming in it.... the owner, Mr Al Feyad (father of Dodi Al Fayed.... yes that Dodi) was born in Egypt.

If you fancy a nice tea infuser for some treat tea anytime Jing do some nice and not too pricey ones. Not as fancy as the Harrods ones but still stylish and ones you feel you can use everyday (great for taking a few moments to have a treat tea break with some really nice tea). The Jing Two Cup Tea-iere is my favourite but they have some others at Jing tea.com. A great excuse total some 'slow' time and chill out with a really nice cup of tea and a favourite biccie...

I'm watching this during the pandemic. So strange to see crouds and everyone acting normally! I miss this!
Watching this in Australia in 2021, none of us had any idea then what was ahead of us.
Who would have guessed that we would be dealing with a pandemic in 2020?
I can't wait to go back to normal, not to have to wear masks and socially distance.
Although it will seem strange after the last 18 months and I don't think any of us will move on untouched, especially those who contracted covid 19 and survived, or those who lost a loved one.

Answer to your question.....Al Fayad owned Harrods. He is Egyptian. His son was Dodi who died with Princess Diana in the car crash.
