Caitlan Lewis I just make sure to buy tile that isn’t too slick and slippery. My dad cuts it for me. What you could do is get like 3 or 4 pieces and then measure and cut them once you see them in the cage 😊
Supreme Dogge The biggest advice is just to be patient and give them time to adjust alone without you being around too much. I know it’s difficult but it’s good for them💕

It’s so funny how when you are building the cage, that you hold one of the sides of the cage, and then your dad just pushes you out of the way and does it himself
I got a chin start of January- he was the cutest. But. Sadly he unexpectedly died after a month. Last week I got the cutest little pink white angora and he is to die for!

It's about time!!!! But small caution for the play pen, I put my 6 month old guy in the pen and he legit just ran through like there wasn't a wall there. My older guy couldn't get out and my girl couldn't. Now that my youngest guy is 10 months old he can't get out but all chins are different. Also if your chins were ever bondable and you do bond them, you could join the critter nations up by taking the the sides off. (didn't know if that would be a possibility?)

If you look on Amazon they sell the critter nation or the Savic royal suite which are very similar there is also a much cheaper version called the little zoo trekker hope this helps

Hello, sorry to ask, but are the treats you got your chinnies safe? They shouldnt have any veggies, fruit, nor seeds :). They cant process sugars. Dont know the composition of those treats but i know petstores are not always reliable :)

I have that same cage I really like it but my set up is on the bottom I have my baby chinchilla which now is 6 months old so hes not really much of a baby anymore and then on the top level is where his mom lives of eventually I would like to get another cage like that so they both can hav ed full access to the top and bottom. I would love to use fleece Like you are showing here I tried that with mine and unfortunately they would try to chew it and consume it so I can't trust them with it

Definitely don't get a female. Unless your boy is pedigreed and you are a breeder, that will be backyard breeding if you do put a female with him. They will have babies but the babies may come out mutated or missing parts of their bodies. If you want another one, get a second male. I would try to get a younger male, so your chin has the advantage of age. The bonding process will be slow and at times they will have fur slip, but as long as they never bite or draw blood causing damage then it will be fine. Unless your male is nuetered, then a female friend would be ok for him to have, since she couldn't get pregnant.
Jenny Lynn I would recommend, if anything, getting a male as they are less territorial than females tend to be. Also for breeding purposes. As for the age, Merlin is gonna be 5 years old this summer and has always lived alone. I’m planning to try to bond him but it might not work, or it will. I’ll be keeping track of the progress and uploading it for you guys but I’ve heard from many experienced owners that it’s still a viable possibility to bond them even when they’re older💕

PLEASE RESPOND-HELP.. my chinchilla is licking his lips randomly the last night? I’m wondering if you know why or if that’s normal?? I just got my chins not that long ago but this is new behavior? Also, I have the same cage as you and my 2 chins share the cage, I have fleece liners and everything as well and clean their cage twice a day, but poop still sticks to their feet and i don’t know how to get it off cause they won’t let me hold them long and I obviously can’t wash it off with water.... any suggestions???? Please help anyone?! I’m a fairly new chin owner although I did my research before hand, still learning!

You should do a video on what to do if there was ever a fire and you had to rush out and go somewhere with the chinchilla.

Alliha Valentine You mean with the fleece? It’s his bedding. I use a fleece liner instead of wood shavings because it’s neater and cheaper💕

Also, I have the same cage as you and my 2 chins share the cage, I have fleece liners and everything as well and clean their cage twice a day, but poop still sticks to their feet and i don’t know how to get it off cause they won’t let me hold them long and I obviously can’t wash it off with water.... any suggestions???? Please help anyone?! I’m a fairly new chin owner although I did my research before hand, still learning!
Megan Hecht Licking their lips is a normal activity and about the poop sticking to them, it’s okay, it won’t do that forever, especially when they get their first dust bath💕
