After this video I've been trying to beat Ursula again on Normal and man is it hard. 5 triest, 0 wins! Let me know if you managed to do it, what deck you used and if you played solo or in co-op!
Amazing gameplay. Mine arrives tomorrow. New to lorcana. Infact these will be my first cards . I’m a fan of solo gaming. Hope they release more of these solo boss battles .
Seems like having another player has way more advantages. More characters to challenge the opponent’s characters and she only draws one more card per turn?
yeah, depending on difficulty and number of players, the rise in card draw for Ursula doesn't seem that bad. That being said though, I had four friends play against Ursula on Normal and they barely finished her in time (38 lore for her before all four of them reached 20), so the game is definitely hard even in multiplayer (especially when using sub-optimal decks for playing against Ursula).
Those are precise fit oversized Ultimate Guard sleeves. I used to need them for the late Transformers TCG which had half of the cards oversized, but they fit these perfectly as well
Was able to successfully beat her on Hard mode had to use my own deck build but took 3 tries, almost got it on the second try but 3rd time was the charm! About to try Extreme level now.
@@TheCoinPusher was able to beat her at extreme with my madam mim deck; had only one turn left! Finally felt like i deserved to open the gold envelope 💜
@@bryannabrown5225 congratulations! I've not succeeded at Extreme yet (barely made Normal with the pre-con decks after 7 tries). Need to build a deck specifically to challenge Ursula on the higher difficulties!
I played this on solo like 8 times and lost every time. How the heck are you winning? I keeping getting outpaced with lore gain and losing all my characters for questing from all of her stupid board wipe and damaging cards. And when I try evening the odss, iI may have a moment of respite, she spamming her board with impossibly difficult minions. I was excited for this set but it's just ticking me off.
@@pietrorasputin52 did you use the included deck? I see a lot of people playing it "harder" than it is on easy mode. It's definitely doable even with the precon decks (I had a harder time with the Mulan deck than the Broom deck).
One thing to keep in mind, Ursula doesn't attack and "all" you need to do to win, is get to 20 lore. I've seen people worry way too much about stopping Ursula where they would have won if they had just quested a couple times more. Obviously you are impacted by her "luck of the draw" at points too. To me it's still the best product in the Lorcana line so far.
@@TheCoinPusher I tried to outpace her on lore, but when she drops a 1-2 minions every turn - and most of them have some hurtful come into play effect and are big - combined with getting damage and board clear, you don't stand a chance. Most recent attempt, she had 21 lore and I had 4 by turn 4.
@@pietrorasputin52 wow that does sound really bad. It almost sounds like you either have very bad luck in your draws (and hers) or there is a rule you're interpreting differently from how I did it. Wish I could help you figure it out, I assure you she is beatable on easy with one of the precon decks (as seen in this video), but I can fully imagine getting ticked off when you try multiple times and fail to beat her each time.
@@tayloreddesigns6852 no, Ursula's card can only be challenged by your characters if they are exerted, but of course there are cards that allow you to do damage to Ursula's cards without them having to be exerted like a Grab Your Swords and many others.
@17:30 Just a suggestion for an alternate play line (haven't watched ahead yet, so don't know how the game plays out): Instead of singing the Mob Song, you could put the Resist +1 on Pyros, then exert Lythos to give Pyros another Resist +2. Pyros could then challenge each character in turn, and ready himself when banishing. This would give him 3 damage counters, but save your song for another time, plus it would wipe Ursula's board while leaving yours basically intact.
It’s too bad you have to buy this with the two decks included. It get it that it can be a starting point for new players, but I would like to see a cheaper version without the starter decks. I think that most people buying this already have many decks.
I think for the first of this type of product, you just have to include those decks to make it playable out of the box. I do wish we would get new scenarios (and a better storage box) for it, just 50 new cards to play against with your own build decks.
I checked it in the rules and confirmed it, no opening hand for Ursula. She starts out with the trident and draws/reveals on her first turn, which can already lead to painful situations, but she doesn't start with more than just that trident.
it has been a while since I played this, but I'm pretty sure Ursula only cares about lore, so they always quest. If a character would have reckless they can't quest, but they have to attack instead.

What happens if Usula has to discard a card? Does she draw one card less?
that's a great question, I think she has the same benefit as an opponent with an empty hand, she simply does not discard.
Is the Treasure a
Set 5 Promo?
It's not a promo, it's an alternative art version of a "normal" card that will be in set 5.
