CCR - one of the greatest bands in rock history! I suggest the following CCR songs: Fortunate Son, Green River, I Put A Spell on You, Travelin' Band, Born On The Bayou & Have You Ever Seen The Rain
These guys were from California but their sound was definitely more "Southern rock"... Other great hits are " Run thru the jungle",Born on the bayou"....
Love the beat. Fogerty's voice is so distinctive. Check out Born On The Bayou, Have You Ever Seen The Rain, Proud Mary. Creedence was a "super group" late 60's early 70's.
@RELAXADO I enjoy all versions of this song but I'm more of a rock guy and although GN&P's is a great version also Marvin Gaye does an outstanding version but them are more R&B and pop so for me the rock version is the best, if you've never listened to it you should give it a try they stay true to the lyrics and tempo of the song but they add about a 5 minute instrumental that make its outstanding.
I believe Marvin Gaye had it out first, maybe out the same year. Ive been a big fan of CCR since 1968, first hit was Suzie Q. Im listening to music over 60 years, their still my favorite group ever. Lead singer is John Fogerty. Had at least a dozen great songs. My favorites are I put a Spell on You and Nighttime is the Right Time I dug all their songs actually. Best of luck on yr channel?
I've checked out other Heard it Through the Grapevine reactions. And this one is by far my favorite. I've never seen this video by CCR! Y'all didn't have to stop the video in between comments, which makes it a little smoother. I often don't like the stopping in the middle of these great songs I ve listen to most my life. I will definitely be subscribing!
creedence is probably the most underappreciated and underrated 60s band. they had hit after hit. including the standards "proud mary" and "fortunate son." the critics hated them but the public loved them. they appeared at woodstock too. (cut out of the film and the album though. as a few other bands were.) CCR invented country rock and they don't even get credit for that. on the album "cosmos factory" (1970) this song was over 11 minutes long. with a wonderful, kick ass guitar solo that lasts about 8 minutes long. the record label shortened the song to about 3 1/2 minutes and released it as a single against the band's wishes. CCR remains one of my favorite bands. side two of their album "bayou country" is one of the best album sides in r&r history.
Of course Glady's, Marvin Gaye did this around the same time. But it's so different. Listen to Ike and Tina do CCR's version of Proud Mary. That's why American music is unique!!
More CCR please!!!!! You won’t be disappointed for sure!!!!! Great 60’s &70’s music with no technology enhancements!!!!! Just saying!!!! So says Austin Tx!!!!! 😎🍸
The guy had a pretty good guess when he mentioned "Midnight Train to Georgia" since Gladys Knight actually recorded "Heard it Through the Grapevine" first.
First time finding your channel. Great reaction! CCR is a band you cant do wrong with diving into music. Try Fortunate Son, Proud Mary, Down on the Corner, Have You Ever Seen The Rain, Bad Moon Rising. Many more but ill stop there haha
I was born in DC in 1971 to 2 twenty year olds & 1 of my earliest memories of music is being in the car with my mom & this coming on the radio & her turning it up 🖤she passed in Jan….rhis song doesn’t make me sad tho 🤤
I want to say I’ve listened to a studio version that was slower that had a little more menace to it? But overall this was one great cover. CCR made it their own while paying respect to the original.
Ccr has a long long list to ck out. I heard them for my first time in 1969.! I was 13. … goin on 53 yrs ltr and they still sound great. Dont have one i dont like. John was still playing about 2 yrs ago, well into his 70s this is a cover. Idk who did it first but marvin gay did it before this. Sorry if i mis spelled his name. They broke up yrs/decades ago. Sad..but glad ya found them. Im guessin you will like a lot,if not all they do. Just hit that sub button today. Nice reaction guys.. dan.. north fl -2/07/22
Sounds like you guys are fairly new to this. CCR & John Fogarty are a wealth of awesome. This is the kind of music I grew up on & there's SO MUCH MORE. Hope you enjoy all the fantastic old music that you're getting into that is still just as fantastic today.
The original was done by Gladys Knight and the Pips. Marvin Gaye did it a year later, and then a year later CCR did it. All three artists hit the top ten with this hit.
Btw..2 nd time i saw this reaction. The sound is great. 👍thats nice cause not all are. Defeats the whole thing when the sound sucks. WithCCR-ya gotta crank it up to 10! And headphones really make it! Dan-2/23/22👍 nice chann guys. Im a fan!! From north florida..
The original song was recorded by Marvin Gay, or Gladys Knight, because they both did the song at the same time. They both were at Motown Records, and they both wanted to do it, so they both did it.
You young people have no idea the great bands and singers we had back in 60's and 70's, even some in the 80's; but you all seem to be finding out. Enjoy!
They've got a number of other great songs..Proud Mary, which was written by John Fogarty ( the lead singer) Fortunate Son, I put a spell on you....and more!
This was sung by Marvin Gaye and I think that is who you are thinking of. Also, you really need to check out the extended version of this song which is about 11 minutes or so long. That version really rocks!
Notice one very important thing...no lip signing or filters what you hear is what you got. Where the talent went is beyond my understanding compared to today's garbage
Creedence Clearwater Revival is always totally 🔥🔥🔥
that groove they lay down underneath is hypnotizing..........
CCR - one of the greatest bands in rock history!
I suggest the following CCR songs: Fortunate Son, Green River, I Put A Spell on You, Travelin' Band, Born On The Bayou & Have You Ever Seen The Rain
Don't forget down on the corner willy and the poor boy !

Love the beat. Fogerty's voice is so distinctive.
Check out Born On The Bayou, Have You Ever Seen The Rain, Proud Mary.
Creedence was a "super group" late 60's early 70's.
They also did a longer version which is about 11 minutes long another musical masterpiece.
Make sure to check out the extended version at some point. Also, 'Suzie Q", "Fortunate Son", "Born on the Bayou" and "Looking Out My Backdoor".
You forgot "I Put A Spell on You".👌
Green River is the best.
The extended version is basically a jam session. I prefer that one.
Lodi, Bad moon rising and down on the corner
It came out of the sky makes me wanna dance in public
Their greatest hits album has 20 songs on it and they have MORE too
Yes you definitely need to do the studio version. One of the best covers ever.
They did the song originally .
@@russellvaughn6933 This was originally done by Marvin Gaye

This is the short version. The long (11-minute) version is much better.

@@paulmorris8762 Gladys Knight and the Pips had it out first in 1967. I think CCR does it best. Marvin's has the violins. Meh.
CCR was the original artists.

CCR are the master's of Southern Rock.
Thank you both for playing CCR. I just love Southern Rock. They were really, really cool. Have a Blessed Evening. And once again, thank you. Adios.

This song was originally done by Gladys Knight and the Pips. Then Marvin Gay did it as a cover. This rendition was recorded in 1970.
Great song. Love your reaction to these oldies Try some Elvis songs like Promise Land, If I could dream, or you gave me a mountain

It was an original by Gladys Knight and the Pips and then redone by Marvin Gaye. But damn. CCR Got ahold of it and damn. They rocked that shit.
Try Copperhead Road by Steve Earle..kind of the same genre.
