Thats kool so you just ordered all these parts to swap in hemi and transmission you didn't have to fabricate anything just bolted everything i guess the rewiring was little bit hard though
@@jamesadkins805 I’ve been told An watched video about .. reason they drop seat is because been run hot .. 2 cylinders outa 8 are most common to drop seats .. check the hole engine over befor instal in truck easier to repair now than in truck .. can’t wait to see the build great videos
I’ll be doing a refresh on my 86 D150’s 318 once I’m done researching / accumulating parts in a few months. Want me to come find you here if I end up posting anything of it?
@@yuuyiatakahashi1943 yeah man sounds good. What are your plans for it. So far on mine I've got a set of Hedman headers back to 2.5" thrush mufflers, summit 500cfm carb, an Edelbrock intake manifold, and I got rid of the mechanical fin and put on an electric. Planning on a cam too but idk what yet. Want to go as extreme as I can but still be able to run 87 octane since I daily drive it.....
@@revelationfarms17 sorry for the late reply, the notification just showed this morning 😅. Mine has a short list of maintenance gremlins from the truck sitting for 16 years after my grandfather passed. Needs most rubber things replaced, as well as it’s mileage based mechanical maintenance. Truthfully could use a new carb and fuel pump, but its fine till I get a few other things fixed. Going to replace the plastic toothed timing chain gear to try to resolve an inconsistent timing symptom, and if that shows no results it means it’s time for a rebuild. My intent is to basically refresh it with parts meant to solve some of the shortcomings it had in its day. (Like the plasti-tooth timing set) higher compression pistons, a cam more intended for low end torque, maybe an intake manifold and spread bore 500cfm, refresh and reseal my 999 TorqueFlite and add a TracLock while changing ring and pinion to stretch its legs out so I can cruise 65-75mph comfortably at around 1800-2000 rpm. Restore the interior, and get the AC working, all new wether stripping and cab seam sealer. My end goal is to have a clean, comfortable daily driver that can feel at ease in modern traffic instead of feeling like he’s hindering the cars around him. If you’re not on 1stGenRamTech you should go browse around. A LOT of good people and info there.
You should put new lifters in it that way you won't have to worry anyway Holley just came out with a bunch of performance parts for the 3rd gen you should check it out if you have not seen it yet

Very happy i found this channel. Been a gm guy my whole life but really started enjoying these old dodge trucks
Hey I love the video I was wondering if you could sent a list of all the parts you bought
Best part this one is identical to mine 😆
I’m going with the Holley kit but I’m subbing so I can follow your progress.
That's funny all that cushion in that box for steel plates like one of them were going to break or something lol!
That d150 is nearly identical to mine😁 but I will be magnum swapping mine, looking forward to seeing how the hemi swap goes👍
THAT old is in nice shape
Whatever happened to this build?
Valve seats dropping are so common in early third gen Hemis. Seen many of em
Yes I’ve seen it multiple times, some of the 03-05 hemis throw rods as well.
@@garysgarage9827 don’t forget the infamous Hemi tick

My 86 d350 has the np435 but i swapped a 5.9 magnum into it. very peppy with 4.10 gearing. Put a 2nd gen bench seat into it.
I got an 84 d250 with the 318/np435. Would love to see you build that 318 in it......

I was thinking about replacing the lifters, but the motor is relatively low miles.
@@garysgarage9827 time to do it is when its apart, easy, fast and one less headache later.
@@trillrifaxegrindor4411 that is true. If the lifters get replaced, then the stock cam has to go 😉
I have a 1986 dodge truck 150 royal se
Buy a camera tripod or something brother
Can you also do this swap to a 91 d 150?
Yes
I just got done doing a very similar build putting a Hemi in a 72 pickup truck
Hey man you should consider importing a valiant ute to America, it would be ultra rare and especially if it has its i6
Dope
How is the swap going? I’ve been thinking about doing the same.
