Jesus wish we had a time machine looking at prices now 😂
Had a chance to buy a P1 for less than 5 grand in immaculate condition 44k miles 10 years ago, all I can do is dream now!!!!
Had a chance to buy a TME for 10k
.
Massive regret
Thanks Banskters. And speculants. Parasites .. ... for. that high pricess ..
An RB5 for 4grand
Nearly bought an Evo VI for £6k back in the early 00s. 106 and 306 Rallyes used to be the cheap alternative to the GTI/GTI-6 models. Type-R STi imprezas barely made £5k in autotrader due Tom”grey import” status… hindsight is a bastard 😢
You might want to update your prices......
Red TME's are over 100k here in Aust now, or very close.
This was filmed years ago
@@Madrat-tw2in I know it was, good old days
@@licksludgee yep
@@johnshaw8327 One recently sold in Hong Kong though a restored version for just over 150k Aud. Red aswell.
I know this was filmed in 2014... I nearly choked on my coffee at a Tommi Makinen Edition starting at 7000 quid. Don't think you can find the TME's interior alone for that price now. lol
oh how I wish its only 7k oh my lord
8 years ago I bought the 106 Rallye in white for € 400, and a year late an to LHD converted Impreza WRX STi Type-R Version V limited edition (blue with the roof lid ) for € 4500,-- I sold the 106 l2 years ago back to France for €3450 and the Impreza, well I better hang on to it for the time being ! It has just been valued at € 25000,--
If you buy the right one and don't drive it too much, a performance model is cheaper than a base model over the long run.
An old video made before these all became collectors cars and prices rocketed out of reach ...
the Mäkinen evo is £30k plus now
Yeah a Rallye like that would cost more than it did new.
@@edh7492 Most rusted to death badly, unlike bigger pugs, the 106 and its Saxo brother were not galvanised.
If you can find one!
Tommy mak in red for 7 grand lol can’t Evan buy a good evo 4 for that
this is very old footage you mong prices of cars change over time believe it or not
@@wash7311 thanks I new that when I commented, 29 likes suggests your the only one that doesn’t get my joke, was comparing prices to now
Just shows how crazy prices have gotten recently, was only a few years ago as well!
Inflation baby
@@Houthiandtheblowfish yeah, it aint inflation when in 8 years cars go from £7K to £60k. Imagine if the average house price of lets say £400k would have also increased almost 10 fold, making every house at least be worth £4M in the UK, making every home owner a multi-millionaire 🤣
40-50k easy for a Tommi mac now😳
love a phase 1 106, summat about it that just works. Reminds me of the Oxia concept they did.
i wish an rb5 was 4k now lol, should have bought one in 2014 lol
lol
Hindsights a beautiful thing
I was like 4 k for a rb5 ?? ...then I seen your comment 🤣🤣
I nearly bought a P1 in around 2005 for I think it was about £12k. What a mistake passing that up was. The white prototype was for sale at the same time. Now that would’ve been the one to have!
I usually find any whining noises when i drive around a tight roundabout usually come from the passenger...
Good luck finding a working non crash 7K Tommy Makinen in 2021
Correct now it’s 50k.
Hard to find decent Peugeot Rallye at this price)
This is painful to watch given today’s prices 😔💔
Blimey, how them prices have increased!!
They all put a smile on your face. Fantastic machines and lighter too.
My mates uncle had all the fast cars from the 90s/00s
He had the Escort Cosworth & the RB5
Such special cars. Not fast by today's standards, but that smack in the face boost is so much fun
Did TMEs ever really get THAT cheap? Imagine having bought one for 7 grand 7 years ago and still having it now. Kerching
Don't remind me bro, I remember cheap E30 M3s, 964 911s, NSXs, and many more. Thought I'd afford them when I grew up but they just exploded in value, all of them. I miss the days of $3000 Honda Integra Type Rs...
@@aaa84gt What years must this have been? Mid to late 2000s?
@@sukhdevr3489 2005-2013 I think. I remember 965 Turbo 3.6 ads for 40k, now they're almost 5x that, lol
My friend bagged an M3 E30 Cecotto edition for about 10 grand around 2010, he still holds on to it, probably a 100k car now.
R32 GTR Skylines used to be 4 figures all day not too long ago. Be spending around £30K for a good one nowadays.
Yeah they used to be 6/7k I got a evo 4 for 1700 before running and driving, yeah nah no hope finding a cheap classic jdm import these days
I wish you could get a s1 106 rallye for a grand.
I'll have 5 please all ways wonted one
This has only been re-uploaded for Fifth Gear to sell their merchandise. The quoted second hand prices will leave people scratching their heads in 2021. They prices way back then were so cheap cheap cheap.
TME for me drove past dealership in 2000 in Dudley where where built , Rallyart.
Same Evo 6 on auto trader £50k
I bought a GC8 WRX in 2020 for $4000, now its 2021 and they are $12000- $19000 prices jumped like crazy in just one year
1:51.
This is gonna sound dumb. But this song is used in the game Pixel Gun 3D.
this aged like milk in the sun
My first car was Subaru V9, and now I just bought myself an EVO 6.
I've got an Evo 6 myself incredible machine..
that 106 rallye though 👌🏼 dreamed of 1 of these for my 1st car but couldn't afford 1
A Rallye is only a 1.3 litre.... i always thought it was 1.6. I've learnt something today.
The second generation cars were 1.6. It’s a bit misleading suggesting that this early 1.3 is a stripped out GTi as the GTi didn’t wasn’t released then. The GTi engine is more powerful than both Rallye’s.
@@MrGwaldo ah right thanks for that, I'm sure I read somewhere they were 1.6
@@MrGwaldo correct, there was a lot more that was bespoke to the S1 Rallye. Exhaust, roll bars, suspension, engine. It was an amazing car. The S2 Rallye had the 1.6 which I believe was a detuned GTi engine? The S1 was way better though.
@@sturedd agree that the S1 Rallye is a more special car. The S2 1.6 was 8v whereas the GTi was 16v. Not much in it in terms of performance though. I’d gladly have any of them alongside my 205.
A 106 Rallye LHD in good condition is now 9000€
Ive still got my Tommi Mak..bought it new from Warrenders of Bolton back in 2000..
Just 18k miles from new...
Im hoping it will near £100k mark in the next ten years :)
A 10k mile TME just sold for £100,100on an auction two weeks ago
@@turbosydney holy macaroni..
Just googled it now bud..
Mine has a few more miles under its belt and not signed by the legend himself but very promising all the same..
Thank you very much for letting me know..
Stewart..
@@SidewaysStewNot impossible to get it signed.
Who ever has a TME or an evo is looking at this and wearing a big smile on their face when she says the price of each car. 😀
I can 100% confirm that a TM Evo in 2014 was NOT 7K....even then it was a £18000 car
I bought A106 peugeot For 50 pound It only had 3 wheel nuts hold in Wales on and it went like stink I love the it was blue and faded look scabby unlinked water
I wish we got these stateside
$100k for a evo TM like that here in Aus now
Would kill for one of those but absolutely not 100k cars surely
I know they are going for that but you’d have to be stupid to buy one
£60k in the uk
when was this filmed 2002?
This Evo now cost more over £50000 not £7000
what does an evo VI TME go for now? 30k?, 40k?! cant imagine getting one for 7k in 2014
From 7k so probably one that needs a lot of work
My husband imported a red Mak in 2014 cost him 13k with 35k miles. Never seen them cheap as 7k especially red ones.
Finally a real fun, cheap car,and got a normal car look
Well you wouldn’t say they were cheap now
I sold my Gc8 Type R V4 18 months ago for £20k (it was in outstanding condition), so I think these prices are way, way off.
As for the RB5.tbh, that was just a bog standard UK2000 car with a paintjob, some stickers, different cloth on the seats and those wheels.
How is this was published yesterdaya normal evo is at 50 grand today
Another great episode with Miss Vicky wheel of Vicky Vicky Vicky Vicky God bless her and her family and God bless 5th gear
They didn't even state how much the TME is available for in this video, think that is a good thing judging how off their prices are.
They did, you weren't paying attention.
Rb5 from 4k? Yeah, right. 😂
Yeah.. you can get em In the same second hand car lots that sell tommey mac 7's for 8k.
This edit is from 2014.
Flat four Impreza?
Don’t think RB5’s were ever less than 6 and a TME’s were over 10 for a cheap one 😂 even back then
(Evo 6 TME / GC8 are very expensive, and the 22B is basically the presence of god among Japanese rally cars ...)
Not only have prices skyrocketed since this film was made... You'd need to be seriously wadded to insure these cars.
Miss my 106.....
Always nice to see the old evo and Impreza but waste of time this as the prices are so wrong now. Can’t even remember them being this cheap in 2014!
a well maintained evo 6.5 tme can be quite expensive
2021 That Evo know goes over 30k , Subaru over 15k, not so cheap anymore
Rb5 was understeer machine. P1 seemed far better. Of course my unbiased opinion is the Evo was king. :)
holy shit prices have increased so much , but why tho?
Those were the days.....very different story today!
Aww, £10k for a Pug 106 Rallye now. Would still rather that than a £10k new car, they're all lame.
You cant get any Evo for £7k never mind a TME.
4k for an RB5? There is two for sale on autotrader right now. 10k and 15k,
Prices has gone up since the making of the show, but last year I picked up GC8 WRX, for $4000
The EVO VI is NICE
A good Mäkinen evo is £30k plus now
yeah, why upload this when the prices are way out fifth gear? this is years old!!! plus do us all a favour and bring Tiff back!!
How old is this video?!?! 🤔🤨🧐
2014
2014
It literary says under the video.
Prices correct as of 1996 😂😂
Subaru has head gasket issues also
No they don't, you simply replace the spark plugs every second head gasket change and they are good to go.
Also a good idea to check the fuel level every second engine oil top up too.
@@MrWilliam.Stewart LOL
Rodney is that you I hear ticking?
Mean a subaru for 4000£ in my country is 30000€
Suzuki Ignis sport should be on anyones list. the best cheap fun ever
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
lol 7grand for an evo
It looks ike its 2005 in that video :D
When was this at air?! 2000, 2005? For that price i will take a flight to UK tomorrow if that was true.
2014
How are they so sheap
In 1999 you could have got a small house for £27,500
These prices are way off nowadays😂
The T.M.E RS on the other hand, lighter and faster compare to the GSR
This is 2021 not 2014 Please update your prices as there miles off
You expect them to remake the film? 😂😂😂
Daihatsu sirion rally 115hp 900kg springs to mind and only £1500 if you can find one.
Charade gt-ti.
Finding stock Mitsubishi or Subaru is almost non existent.
Why do they have pixel gun music
Haha would buy all 3 at those prices tomorrow
Rallye! For a grand! 😂
Maybe could have gone as low as £2.5k before going back up again.
All silly money now the RB5's were rare back in the day & the TM Evo is is golden but the 106 Rallye is never worth 10k its just an XS with stickers n trim....a LHD 205 Rallye is the honey.
I had a mark 1 106 Rallye. I rolled it. 😔 I also had a 306 Rallye. Didn't roll that one. 🤔 😂
I bought (In Portugal) a new one in 1994... Sold it in 2014... My biggest mistake!
£7k for a TME 🙋🏻♂️😩
7k for a lancer ralliart in 2021, let alone any evos
Funnily enough, my mate has just picked up a Silver 65,000 mile UK spec TME for under £7k.
Has been off the road for 4 years and not been started in all that time so bought as an unknown. Bit of rust on the sills, 2 snapped front springs, All brake lines were shot and AYC and Fuel filler pipes were rusted through. Started up and runs fine though & came with some HKS upgrades under the bonnet.
So They are out there to be found and rescued , but the resto using genuine Mitsubishi parts has been around £4k
@@SHIREDRIFT amazing project though, big win for your friend!
Yeah, looking forward to some scares while riding shotgun it in. Got to blow it out eh! Keep the faith with finding you own neglected TME.
£1000 for a 106 Rallye 😂😂😂😂 not anymore
Did someone say Subaru?
Who does the price research ? 🤔 I'd have one of each at that price 👍😂
Filmed in 2014 bud 😉
Where on earth can you find a non scrap 106 Rallye for £1000
In my dreams haha I was taken out in one and it's the most fun I've had in a car better than vx220 and a clio v6
FOR EVERY GF/GC BUYER:
i.imgur.com/DDjuqfA.jpg
Be advised
the arch rust its just a tip of the iceberg. Around 2010 when I bought mine I remember I've found an post like: "Theres production error near rear strut mount. The water flows between sheet metal and stays where rust comes at rear quarter panel. Removing inner plastic panels and inspection is advised". It was damn right. IMO buying GC/GF in 2021 without checking this place is IRRESPONSIBLE!
Its the place where outside panel and inner structure metal pieces are joint.
The worst thing is that water leak is caused by small metal piece between strut, and outside rear quarter sheetmetal. 20x10cm. It cannot be checked well without removing the strut :E
Cheers for all subaru owners!
BTW I'll weld mine arch. I repaired almost whole floor and sills in K11 Micra, nothing related to rust in japanese cars will surprise me :)
i.imgur.com/MgfZZzy.jpg image comes from uk subaru group, I cannot track the exact source, sorry!
Evo six makinen for £7000. Ha ha, no chance. More like £25000.!!
An evo TME for £7000? Send me a link, asking for a mate.
106 rallye for a grand?
Impreza RB5 for 4??
EVO 6 TM edition at 7??????
Talk about an investment if you bought them when this was filmed 🤣
I cant even import an evo 4 for less than like 26k
Try doubling them prices and that's what they're worth now.. if not more 👌
How old are these episodes ? 😂,
2014.
£7000??, in Indonesia it's still £25000.😁
Evo TM are like 35k+😂
a mint condition Evo 6 TM is around £50k in Britain
Evo 6 TM 19 k starting lol Rb5 lol 10 k above
I wish I paid 7,000 pounds or $13,000 Australian for mine 😂
Subaru all the way for me!!!!
Better than TGear .. informative .. not pointless circus like TG ... -) ...
The red evo tme has tripled in value. Wish I had purchased a shit load of them and made a killing.
106 rallye £1k? Pfft dream on xD
350 Pounds for the engine mounts? If you are a sheep, maybe.
