I have been seriously mulling over buying this subscription service for 2 straight days, after 6 months of kinda thinking about it. This sealed the deal for me, I would be crying if I got rotten food for $500. Hell naw. My wallet thanks you.
I agree with some other comments that this IS the best review I've seen on this company. I've also been thinking about doing a 3 or 5 day trial but that price is completely ridiculous. Most of the videos I've seen are rave reviews but then I find your review which seems so much more honest and transparent. I would be furious spending that much money on moldy or foul-smelling food. Ive also seen reviews where the customer service is hit or miss, depending on what region you live in. I think I'll save my money and head to the library and check out some vegan or whole plant-based cookbooks amd make my own meals. Thank you VERY much for such a great review!
This is by far the best review of Sakara that I have seen. You discussed pretty much everything and answered the remaining questions that I had. I’m currently pescatarian and plan on going back to plant based. I plan on going back to work full time and I wanted to try Sakara so I won’t have to worry about not having enough time to cook dinner or lunch. I can’t justify spending $400 a week on meals that are mostly salads. I also feel as though this company promotes Ed’s in a sense. As someone who struggles with an ed, this is a big no no considering you stated it not enough food. Thank you.
Your thoughts on this food service I’m living for!!! I was sitting here thinking about trying out this plan, but my GOD the prices are ridiculous. I understand the eating healthy and clean is a big thing right now to some people, but for them to literally think normal people would even consider this meal service is crazy. I would seriously take every single recipe and make this crap at home an make it taste better. And the freaking calories you get from it is ridiculous as well, especially for you to still be super hungry afterwards....Hell no. Sweetheart you have made my decision about this meal plan. I’m creating my own clean eating meal plan, with actual NON rotten food.
Yeah you definitely don’t need this for a healthy diet! I always advocate for a balanced diet, not focusing on “clean” eating because it can cause a lot of toxic ideas and lead to disordered eating. I highly recommend reading up on Intuitive Eating, it totally changed my life! xx
@@haileyelianna4978 I honestly agree! The first few weeks were a gift from my daughter to help me transit into a whole food plant based way of eating and now I do three days a week on my own which is temporary because I see that this way of eating is really healthy and delicious and I can prepare the meals I like myself. Any who.. wish you the best!
This company just feels so unethical to me with their price tag and plastic use. Just because it’s organic does not mean it’s green! Access to healthy foods is a right not a luxury for the rich! I wouldn’t even mind if the owners were honest about their desire to get rich but they act like they’re doing such amazing, ethical, wellness work. I am curious about the food, for sure, but their whole business ethos and model sickens me.
I completely and wholeheartedly agree! Access to healthy food is a HUGE issue and should not be. The price tag for this is definitely not justifiable and the plastic use is definitely alarming! But that’s what you get when people care more about their salad not getting a little soggy than using biodegradable packaging unfortunately. My biggest issue is with the whole “clean eating” mentality that shuns “non-clean” food, whatever that means... Balance is important. The meals were all way too low calorie and not dense enough to fill up almost anyone or provide adequate nutrition and half of them tasted like crap 🤷🏼♀️
Companies that are successful make money, especially the good ones! These meals are pretty awesome and expensive. It sucks but anywhere you buy organic it’s always more expensive. Not justifying the price, but I’m not going on a feeling, I’ve actually been a customer and they’re very impressive and put a lot of work into the product and customer service. Also, the food comes with ice packs, but if you leave it out in the sun all day it may effect the product..just saying! I have friends who have this service as well that are happy with it, do we love every meal..98% of the time! I mean nothing is perfect. I usually don’t comment on posts like these cause I respect people’s opinions, but wow the negative reactions to one persons experience can cause a false description of a successful company trying to meet a need of people who can really use them, if only for a few months to get started on a healthy path! Best to you !
@@vsrorrer couldn’t agree with you more! I have it and love it. It sounded as though she was fairly new to plant based meals and so maybe new to some foods / alternatives and their tastes. One persons negative whiny opinion shouldn’t have everyone reluctant to try it.
100% agree with you. I tried the 3 day plan. The breakfasts were tiny and I can't imagine the items in the 5 day plan staying fresh that long. The first meal the salad was already wilted.
Crystal Rose They actually send the 5 days in two shipments. You get the first three days, then on the third day you get the last two days. The breakfasts (besides that RIP OFF granola lol, although the milk was tasty) were actually pretty enjoyable and that was basically the only thing I enjoyed. They don’t offer breakfast-only where I live, but I’ve heard that depending on your location they do sometimes offer breakfast only. I definitely don’t think it would be worth the price, but I would consider paying for that if it was available because I’m never sure what to eat for breakfast lol!
The brand is Russell and Hobbs! I now have a Smeg toaster which I prefer but the one I had in the video is great and more affordable! It came with the toasting rack which is so useful, I actually kept it and use it with my smeg toaster now (:
Loved this video so much. I totally agree the markup on this service is astronomical. And there is no way those meal sizes are appropriate for everyone. I personally hate mushrooms and I can't imagine paying this much for a service and not being able to skip mushroom meals because of preference. The plastic situation is hilarious, just, why. I hear from everyone that the breakfasts were amazing, and tbh I am so curious about tryin them but I couldn't bring myself to pay that much for a breakfast 😅
c l u m s o r Thank you!!! So glad you liked it and thank for leaving a comment, I appreciate it!! The price is nuts, and I was honestly nearly offended that they had the audacity to put granola and almond milk in as a breakfast since it basically comes to 30$ a meal. I definitely did like the breakfasts and I’d consider getting them again if there was a breakfast only option, but the plastic and so many other things really bothered me about this service.
Hey! I loved how real you were about this video! I have been looking to try out Sakara more (I have only tried the teas and bars) but the price is a lot. I will say that there is a breakfast only option where I live and you don’t have to pay to change out up to three foods ingredients. So like taking out mushrooms and swapping it with something else because you don’t like them. I wonder if this is a state by state shipping thing? Interesting
Kayla Nicholson Hmm maybe! The breakfasts are tasty so if you can do breakfast only it could be worth trying out! I will say it is not worth the price though, so its really up to you! I have a discount code in my bio (:
Hailey Elianna you can do a breakfast only option and it’s awesome. You can also swap out the granola option each week for something else which is what I do because I hate paying $30 for granola haha
Shan Shaw Yeah I only wanted to try it! I use Hello Fresh and Daily Harvest usually which I like a lot, cooking and shopping yourself is definitely the most economical!! Thanks so much xx

Allana Rae It’s a toasting rack! If something doesn’t fit in the toast slots (too big/small), you just put it on the rack and it toasts it that way (: Good for croissants, muffins, pastries, stuff like that
Very true review, I agree 100%. Simply not enough food, to me it was like snacks which should go as a supplement to the main meal. Insanely expensive. The menu on its own is not bad. And I hate they hate the calories! And I hated spirulina bar

Really well crafted review. Thank you for the clarity. And I think a tad generous.. For these prices, the meals should jump up and serve me on a gold plate. :)
We're not supposed to drink chlorophyll water. I saw this company advertised on instagram and all this is, is a scammy gimmicky company selling products you do not need. The water drops are ridiculous. No meal plan should cost that much..and the fact that the food was this bad, even more ridiculous. Optimal eating is a fully balanced diet with animal products. I am an ex vegan, I lived that way of life for almost 5 years and I was EXTREMELY ill and vitamin deficient by the end of those 5 years. Sick on so many levels, from deficient eating. There's a reason most vegans quit after 3 to 5 years..
I can just go to the whole foods, sprouts, or Trader Joe's in Pembroke Pines (until Trader Joe's reads all of my 1 million emails trying to push them to Doral), and make similar meals for at least half the price. And that that Whole Foods is referred to as whole Paycheck! Lol. Not worth it. This is for those people that love to copy celebrities. Nope.
Undomiel-2020 There’s a Trader Joe’s on S Dixie Hwy in Dadeland, sounds a bit closer! The thing with this service is convenience, so if someone is vegan/plant-based and enjoys this type of food AND has the money for it, I guess it could be worth it, but definitely not worth it for your average person. Of course it’s way cheaper to do it yourself but people use these services cause they don’t have time or don’t want to cook (:
