Can't believe that you actually caught the ever elusive bearded Brad while Pier fishing!!!!! I've heard that it was possible but never imagined I would get to see it on camera 😅.Great job Brant!!!
Hey Mr Brant I was on the pier this morning and when I was initially getting there I saw you leaving and I really regret not getting a picture with you
Hey man just want to say I've been watching for a lot years now and I love the fact you don't just do the wild drone shots and what not and just do offshore you adapt and survive and it always keeps me coming back for more! Stay strong brother God bless
That was AWESOME Brant. Those Ribbon fish are really cool! Definitely alien Fish!! 💯😃 I hope you have a safe and blessed Thanksgiving with your family ❤️🙏
Was down there two weeks ago and saw the same ribbon fish couple. Nice people and gave them a couple of Spanish. Also got by the store for the first time and love what you guys have done. Had to get a rod, reel and hat.
Ribbon fish is called Cutlash fish in Trinidad , taste rel good when day like 6 feet long 4" wide steak fry an curry with green mango try it yr gr like it.. bless..
That was some really great pier fishing I'm kind of disappointed you didn't keep one of the ribbon fish too though hood of like the scene with that cleaned up like
I grew up catching croaker and catfish in the Chesapeake Bay. We used to fry up little nuggets and put them on Hawaiian rolls with a little tatar. It's still my favorite seafood meal I've ever had.
Brant try this for red sauce instead of plain ketchup: ( at your discretion: add ketchup, worcestershire sauce, horseradish, tabasco and lime and mix it; optional is purple onions and cilandro. Enjoy. Already subs!
Croaker are amazing to eat, some say better than striper. In the Chesapeake Bay you can catch croaker that size 2-at-a-time with blood worms and a double drop rig. Pompano rig would probably work well too
Just caught some in the carolinas a month ago. They are very good fish if you never have tried sashimi very good fish and very sought after by Asians. I said i was bringing rice next time and have a catch and eat on the pier.
I am only posting this because I did not see any similar responses. Ribbonfish are an excellent white meat with surprisingly good yield. I caught some in Louisiana recently. The skin is edible. Fillet them like a Spanish mackerel (No pin bones though) season one side and then roll them up into a "Pinwheel" (quoted from EliasVFishing) then stick a toothpick through them. Fry them or bake. Excellent fresh. I rarely freeze fish.
Hi Brant! I'm originally from Southern California. A lot of Mackerel are caught off the piers, but a lot of them are used for bait. The blue Pacific Mackerel have a dark red bloody meat, and a strong taste. So, out of curiosity I just researched the difference between the East coast Macs and our Pacific ones. It turns out the ones you get are white meat. Do you think they would taste the same? I also read that they are best with a spicy sauce. Probably to cover up the strong flavor.
You guys call them ribbon fish. We call them hairtail. We used catch them up to 6 or 7 feet long, average between 4 or 5 feet. One of the best eating fish in the world. Clean their shine off with sand or a Brillo pad, cut them into 4 or 5 inch pieces and fry them in butter, fantastic!
Pensacola dont charge to park. But in Orange Beach / Gulf Shores...there will be a pay to park machine everywhere you go. I dont care if its a 5 car parking lot, a place behind a building, a small walk through to the water, or a posted keep out. The pier and predido pass is the only land fishing.
Brant, all your fishing video "competitors" like to flaunt their supporting companies -- from rods, to reels, to boats, to resorts that give them freebies and discounts -- but you talk fishing. Then today I saw you fillet those fish with that Dexter blade. I have a variety of Dexters -- keep them sharp and they will out flex, out cut and out skin just as good as any this brand, or that brand knife that anyone else is pushing. Keep being real!
Question: Does the Parking Fee at GSP include a Blanket License? Or do you need to have an Alabama Saltwater Permit? I only ask because I'm an Alabama resident. With only a Freshwater Fishing endorsement.
I'd never leave my cart so far away. Here in Texas the meth heads walk up and down the piers looking to steal whatever they can. I had a couple walk by while my wife was going to the bathroom. They pointed at her rod and tackle. They moved to pick up her gear and I had to ward them off.
So I've got a question out of the big 3 reel brands what is you favorite? Shimano Penn Diawa Or do you prefer 13 fishing Vanstall Tsunami salt x Or a different brand.
Something with cold and ribbon fish. The only one I ever caught was during a cold snap. About 4’ long. I didn’t know what the hell it was. Looked like some deep water prehistoric monster fish. Scary teeth and whip tail. I wasnt touching that thing.
Dude, always dip my fresh fried fish in ketchup, and normally laced with texas pete, tabasco, or better, cholula, but most any will do. Louisiana, Franks, Tapatio, etc... unless a better dip is available, of course...
Uncle B’s heat lab stuff is amazing. Good to see it getting some love!

Great vid Brant 🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟👍👍
Great job B.
That pier looks like it might have a lot of potential 👍🏻🇺🇸
Always fun when fishing with Brad. He is perpetually happy and always has good things to say.
Beautiful catch and cook
Hey man just want to say I've been watching for a lot years now and I love the fact you don't just do the wild drone shots and what not and just do offshore you adapt and survive and it always keeps me coming back for more! Stay strong brother God bless
I lived in G.S. for about 3 yrs and LOVED it! Great video ❤
That was AWESOME Brant. Those Ribbon fish are really cool! Definitely alien Fish!! 💯😃 I hope you have a safe and blessed Thanksgiving with your family ❤️🙏
Really dig your videos (fishing and real estate). Fun to watch your adventures.
Sounds and looks good. Tabasco hot sauce is the best on fried fish.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and Melanie, sir. Thank you for all you do to consistently provide great content & keep me sane in these interesting times.
Nice catches and educational channel. Thanks Brant.👍
Heck yeah great video Brant hope you and Melody have a great holiday 👍

Happy Thanksgiving Brant & Melanie😊Watching From NC❤

I remember catching my first Ribbon fish in the Chesapeake Bay. Until that day I never heard of them before.
Great video brant and I see the bots are thick today on here 😂 BTW how's Ricky doing?😂😂😂 love your channel ❤

Was out there today as well, you missed the guy who caught a keeper red snapper!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours as well
Yeah, Happy Thanksgiving Brant & Mel
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours too
Was down from Texas and was at the Pensacola Pier today and those ribbon fish were all over it. Cool fish.
I'll be up in 30A this week. I'll be fishing everyday!
If get on Croaker like that, I'm staying on them as long as I can. Almost as delicious as Whiting!
Homemade tartar is great, but I almost always do 4:1 ketchup and Tabasco. For me, spicy ketchup is where it’s at. Keep slaying them, man!
🚨🎣🐟Thank you Jesus ✝️☝️💯Amen the only true holiday 👍👀✝️☝️🔜 Great catch and cook 🐟🌮👍
I grew up catching croaker and catfish in the Chesapeake Bay. We used to fry up little nuggets and put them on Hawaiian rolls with a little tatar. It's still my favorite seafood meal I've ever had.
I'll bet the neighborhood kitties love your backyard. LOL
You have a Happy Turkey day as well my friend
Brad was a little over slot. Gotta throw him back 😂
Happy Thanksgiving
I want to see a Ribbon Fish catch and cook. I've caught a lot of them but just never cooked one.
Brant try this for red sauce instead of plain ketchup: ( at your discretion: add ketchup, worcestershire sauce, horseradish, tabasco and lime and mix it; optional is purple onions and cilandro. Enjoy. Already subs!
You are a FisherMan's fisher.... lol, I see so many kool things here.... peace man
Smoked Spanish Mac dip yummy ! ❤
Use some Ballistol or white grease on the bearings on that axle, should quiet it right up.
Happy Thanksgiving Brant!

Went fishing with a Vietnamese family when I was a kid. Everything I caught, they wanted. These people are survivors.

Why not do a ribbon fish catch and cook? Supposed to be a white tasty fish but I sure would like to see you try it...
Happy Thanksgiving to Everyone!!
Brant you should add some Cholua Chipotle to both your ketchup or your tartar sauce for a bit of soft heat and flavor.. you won’t regret it!
Happy thanksgiving
You need a spider (straining tool to retrieve things out of the fryer) much easier than tongs.
we call those machetes in the Dominican republic weird fish cool vid man thanks

Great stuff. Personally I release rather than giving them to strangers.

One of my favorite fish to eat croaker
If you've never eaten ribbon fish, they taste very much like white trout. We cut them into 3-4 inch sections, and fry them up. They really are good.
Croaker are hard to beat when they’re on.

I stand with the sane majority. Fish and ketchup do not go together. Fish and hot sauce, fine. Ketchup, no.

Believe it or not, ribbon fish are great eating fish! You should have kept it and tried it!
Brandt, Go too Quitman, Georgia and ask for Sonny DeShazior.... You can rent from him if he has space for Whitetail Deer
Dude this made me hungry
We going to see any blackfin fishing this winter Brant??
Question:
Does the Parking Fee at GSP include a Blanket License?
Or do you need to have an Alabama Saltwater Permit?
I only ask because I'm an Alabama resident. With only a Freshwater Fishing endorsement.
I heard you do need to buy your own saltwater license to fish on that pier. I do want to try out that pier in the near future.
@jasonfulton77 Thanks for the heads up. That's the the reason I like PCB city pier. The $7 fishing fee covers a 24hr fishing permit.
Ribbon fish is usually used for stock.
Ketchup is the best on fish.
😂
should do a fry up of those cutlassfish...
The wheels on your cart need some oil!
Awesome
You maybe should have put a chance of mullet out in the draw for random bulls coming thru
Would love to see the ribbons on the underwater cam
Ribbon fish tastes like flounder.
I'd never leave my cart so far away. Here in Texas the meth heads walk up and down the piers looking to steal whatever they can. I had a couple walk by while my wife was going to the bathroom. They pointed at her rod and tackle. They moved to pick up her gear and I had to ward them off.
People are extremely polite in Gulf Shores.
So I've got a question out of the big 3 reel brands what is you favorite?
Shimano
Penn
Diawa
Or do you prefer
13 fishing
Vanstall
Tsunami salt x
Or a different brand.
Those ribbon fish are tastier than that croaker Brant
Something with cold and ribbon fish. The only one I ever caught was during a cold snap. About 4’ long. I didn’t know what the hell it was. Looked like some deep water prehistoric monster fish. Scary teeth and whip tail. I wasnt touching that thing.

Those ribbo
n fish are a smelly, good lord. But I'm glad they're around when the bite is slow😊
I've just started watching your videos and ive noticed most of the line on your reels are very blue.. just wondering what type and color you use?
Dope video and I agree with the onlyfans thots, it’s a cinematic masterpiece indeed
Can’t ever go wrong with dipping fried fish in ketchup
Brant there is a channel called Fritzthekid and he has a lot of your videos on his channel
would like to see you catch grouper from the skyway bridge
I didnt see a whole lot of meat of the ribbin fish! Lol
Nothing wrong with ketchup 😁
The pier owners should let y'all fish for free since you advertise the pier.
Go.
Hunting
Where do you get your drop net, pier net!
I noticed that you are fishing in a handicap spot. What the rule for that, since there were plenty of open spots?
Hitting that counter top with your knife doesn’t mess up the edge on your knife?
@@tommythompson3588 na. I get those knives for 4$. They hold up really well.
