Brilliant, mine is the Magnifica S and I was really scared of trying to do this. Your video has simplified what I thought would be a really difficult task. Thanks
Thanks man. First a cleaning video for our Saeco and now for the Delonghi. Works great again !!!
Not me sitting here on a sat night with a brew unit in my lap on the couch 😄 I followed this step by step, cleaned everything (didn't lose the spring) and put it back together. Thank you for this. I didn't even know the thing went up and down and mine was pretty stuck!
I've had a Solis, then 3 Saeco and now a Delonghi and they all had this identical brew unit. This is the first time I find a UA-cam video showing how to service it. I didn't replace those 2 o-rings however because I didn't know about them. I'll order a set for the next time that coffee grinds come out of the top.
Thank you, one of the most succinct and detailed videos I've seen; lovely clear explanation.!!
Thanks for this info. I pulled mine apart and cleaned it. The gaskets are stuffed so I checked the price online, which is crazy, some $30-40!! I checked the price of the entire mechanism which was only $39 from Delonghi! The choice was easy. Cheers.
Very helpful, thank you so much! My machine is Delonghi ESAM 5500MH, but I was in a state of wisdom, not knowing before seeing this what to do with the 1'30"-1'45" push in only. Push it in! What a no brainer. 😂😂😂😂😂 Thanks. I'm glad to know I can enjoy nice coffee again☕️❤
I don’t even have this machine but I watched the video until the end. You are very good at instructional videos :)
Thank you for the tutorial. I've had my machine for about 14 years now it works awesome the 3300
The best video about that brewing block! Great thanks!
Precise, brilliant and clear. Thanks.
Fantastic and very useful video, plus very eloquent description. Many thanks!!
Thanks for the help. Got my machine going a lot better after seeing this video :-)
This is a wonderful guide, thanks man.
Thank you so much for this video. I think you saved my machine!
Great video! Very helpful, I am just waiting for some spare parts for my unit and then gonna to assemble it just like You did.
Your video was very helpful for me to service my 10 years old magnefica, Thank you very much for your efforts.
Great instructional video, one of the best I have seen. Thank you
Wow, respect for such a good and proffessional walk through
Got my broken machine fixed. Thanks man!
Hey Kody, this is very helpful. Thank you..
Thank you so much, I didn’t have to pay someone to do this for me, I know it’s a small victory but feels good!
Thank you from Brazil. Save my year!
Great Video. One can tell that a Master Repairman is at work.
Awesome video instructions, Thank you very much!
Hi. Thanks. Great video. Machine working perfectly now.
Thank you very much for this explanatory video, we had a problem with our brew unit, and with your valuable advice, we managed to clean it perfectly.
We are happy to hear that!!
thank you for this, I'd love to see a video where you talk through the components and what they do. I have an ESAM6600 that I've managed to keep operational by fixing it at home.
Thank you so much. This helped me immensely 👍
Great and thank you,I never thought of cleaning that part b4.....
Great video. How do you get the replacement gaskets?
Thanks, very helpful x
Very clear advise.I think I can do this. Thanks..
Thank you a lot for your detailed video!
Saved me money and machine. Thank you 🙏
Awesome. Thanks. I have the magnifica. I’ve lubed everything but still have original shower screen and o-rings. The machine still makes a loud squeaking sound at the end of the piston cycle when pulling it back up. Any ideas? The machine is super reliable. I have it zero maintenance in 10 years. Now obviously I pushed the limits.
@Genius Coffee N' Espresso Equipment Inc. I have removed the clip on the bottom but the part that falls off on the video at 1:21 won't badge. I tried pulling, tapping, soaking in water, even prying out but it won't move. Am I missing something? The group is in a pretty good shape, so I don't understand why mine won't come off.
Thank you for making the video. I have the Magnifica ESAM 4200. Is it okay to put Cafiza in the machine in the coffee ground compartment at the top to clean the machine occasionally?
I'm watching this video at speed 0,5 because I'm nervous about your quick hand movements, but thanks for the instructions how to clean/repair Infuser .
Brilliant video. Have you made one regarding blocked coffee nozzles?
Great video! Could you do en equivalent instruction for the Magnifica S, as the brew unit is quite different in design? Extrapolating from your video here I think I might know how to disassemble it, but it'd feel much safer to see you guys do it properly first!
great video, it makes a huge difference in my coffee quality but coffee is still warm not as hot as it used to be despite being on high temp. setting, any idea?
hi what size are the rings or do you know what the part number is i have a ESAM04.350.s
how do I replace a boiler heat pump thanks
hey great vid, on my machine ( same as one your working on here) there is tiny inline water filter after the water tank , that is blocked, but i cant find those filters online , do you have a link to them please?
Hi - do you have a video of doing the same with the Delonghi ECAM44.660.B Infuser??
This was incredibly helpful, thank you! Very clear and I got mine all fixed up!
Awesome vid - good work
Thanks, great video.. can you advise which o-rings in milk frothing system are responsible for machine not able to pull milk from milk carafe and not able to do proper foam (often just condensed water is coming out instead of milk). With varied success I have been able to repair this problem over several years, by replacing three o-rings in place where the milk carafe inserts into DeLonghi Rialto (Magnifica) body, but problem keeps coming back. I always used just generic o-rings. How best address this issue? many thanks
great video , wish I did that sooner , now the infuser of Magnifica xs is stuck in its upper position and can not get it down to the home position for removal. Any video on this problem?
Hey! I’m servicing my delonghi ESAM3300 that keeps clogging up. I keep removing the shower screens that are on top of the piston and clearing them of debris (there’s 2 stacked on top of each other). Are their supposed to be two? Or was that some manufacturer’s defect that’s causing it to clog frequently? Thanks!
Thank you! Saved my machine
hi great video i have esam 6750 delongi coffee machine it wont descale or rinse and coffee grinds alarm comes up
can you isolate this problem for me when descale i can hear a motor noise but no water comming out !!!
This is a great video. I have a Delonghi Prima Donna inbuilt coffee maker. I have noticed that most of the time the coffee produced leaks behind the spouts. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Hi there. So i have the eletta cappuccino top and i lubricated the brew unit. And now one of the coffee sprouts sometimes is blocked. I insertef a tooth pick and made a descale but still sometimes its blocked. Help?
Excellent, thank you.
I’m having trouble getting the plastic horse shoe back in place, is there a trick / knack to it?
the black piece of plastic you call the sliding bar has swollen in my machine and was jammed so fast that I couldn't pull it out. I knocked it out but strangely a couple of days later it slid in easily as it had shrunk. The manufactirer of the grease I'm using says it's okay. Have you ever experienced this before?
What size are the water inlet hoses in perfectas?
great video! i just completely serviced my delonghi machine and all was working great for 5-10 cups of coffee. Then it stopped making coffee, the pump is working but stops. the hot water outlet works so the pump should be ok. There was a lot of almost dry coffee on the brewing unit screen and under the screen all was clogged with gunk/sludge. After cleaning it and the crema valve the machine works again but after some cups of coffee it stops working, same problem as before. Why is it clogging that fast? Do you think the shower screen is not sealing good enough or could it be caused by something else?
Can an ecam brew unit be cleaned like this they look a bit different, mine is squeeking, I've given it a good clean but have stopped short of replacing the metal filter and am not sure how to get at the o-rings, they look to be sealed is this right ?
Great Video!
Thank you very much for help 👌
Very good to know information looking at servicing my machine.
Do you know what the difference is to the S series machines?l
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Amazing! Thak You very much!
Can you tell me where to get these O-rings and possible a new infuser? I may need at least the O-rings. I have searched the web with my Model Number of my TrewBrew CAM51025MB and nothing comes up for either. The O-rings I find are all general or go for different De Longhis and no infuser I have found looks like mine ( the one you are working on) I have my unit almost a year and it is definitely having problems. I hoping a good cleaning will help but may need more than that. BTW nothing on the maintenance part in the manual states about doing this to the infuser. Very disappointing and I am hoping it is not totally destroyed. I thank you in advance.
What sort of lubricant do you use? Thank you
what is the name of the lubricant you use
Great video, useful 👍
A big thans from Denmark. What kind of loob do you use?
Brilliant thanks 👍
Hi .. got a question is it normal for coffee to come out of the spout that’s in front of the brew unit that drips into the tray, after the coffee has finished coming out ??
I need some help figuring out if I can replace a part. At 1:45 you are holding a part that is mostly grey with a white piece attached with 4 screws. The round gray part by your upper hand is broken on my machine. Where can I find that part? I'm having a really hard time finding it. Thank you.
I can’t get the brewing unit out.... when I turn on the machine it says to insert the brewing unit , is already inside stuck on the bottom of the machine.
Any tips on how can get it out to do the maintenance you showed in this video ..?
Wanted to see how you get the grinder out of a delonghi ecam 23450, especially the grind select knob.
Could you please also guide us on the exact type of food-grade grease you used there? along with any brand recommendation, upper high temp limit, viscosity, water repellence, etc
Hi I’m wondering if you can help me. My husband took apart the infuser without watching any videos about how to and he took a lot more pieces off than servicers do including the lever for sweeping off the grinds puck. Now it’s loose and doesn’t spring back into the default position, it’s in the way sitting loosely across the disc. Can I please have some help/advice on getting this back into correct position and working order? Thank you
Hi ,
Thanks a lot for all your vid
I bought my DeLonghi Magnifica XS from Costco MN
120 v - 60 HZ 1250 W

When I took it to North Africa and by mistake I plugged it in 220 V
I smelled little burning. I still can turn it on I can hear the coffee grinding all screen look good with green and yellow light but it doesn't dispense water nor a coffee.
Please help.
Hi All, I have a question , I have a Delonghi ecp 3630 , its a 51 MM Portafilter , is there a way of modifying it in order to fit in a 58 MM non -pressurized basket ?
very useful thanks
After removing the clip, my black part does not come out. My model is ESAM3300 - is it a different design?
Thank you all done running good👍
Nice video...Trying to fix mine...Half of the coffee is dripping from the whole close to the 2 screws of the infuser into the pan below. I already cleaned and replaced the 3 gaskets...but still faulty. Any suggestions? Thansk
Any clue?
After cleaning my Perfecta the light on the control panel keeps saying the coffee bin is full. I didn't do a disassemble like shown here, but merely a basic cleanup
super job, man !!!
i cant seem to pull apart once the clip is off what am i doing wrong please help
Hi I have a Caffe Corso and clean my brew unit every week or so by soaking for 15 minutes and pushing back and forth. After watching this however I decided to take it apart and fully clean it but I ran into a problem as when the clip was removed the slider did not come out, it would move the piston up and down as if the clip was still there. Is there a reason that it could get stuck and is there a remedy?
Thank you Jez
It only works on some brew units. My DeLonghi 4200s brew unit, you only get as far as removing the clip. The black part does NOT come out! Yours fell out unintentionally.
My one, the is no method of getting past the dog clip.
Hi - I replaced my pump on the Delonghi Magnifica because it was not delivering water anywhere - the steamer now works but the coffee part is not delivering any liquid - any suggestions ? - There are no leaks . I’m an amateur but I’m willing to try ! If so do you know where I can get the parts and directions to repair myself? Thank you
super lesson
Hi. Thanks for a great video. I have a Delonghi Magnifica and every so often the pump goes from making a load pulsing noise to a very quiet pulsing noise and the water flow slows right down. Any thoughts please. I have descaled it and cleaned out the brew unit although not the spring valve (although this works freely). The water light sometimes flashes but after adjusting the grind knob it stops but I still get the intermittent problem with the pump.
HI Thanks.
Brilliant.
Mate the piston is not coming off although I removed the horse shoe
Great job in explaining and demonstrating the process well done!
However, why cannot we just clean, lube and reuse the o rings?
After all they are not split or cracking (the usual reasons to replace in cars etc).
It appears they are not deteriorating or catching causing the bind.
Because foodsafe o-rings tend to swell bit over time - more friction, worse performing brew unit.
After I remove the horseshoe shape clip, the sleeve does not fall out like yours did. It will not come out. It is almost as if there were a lock pin somewhere preventing it from removal.
Hello, when all the buttons light up in turn
the machine does not start, only the LEDs of the buttons light up one after the other, what's going on,thanks
Thanks for sharing
thank you so much as it cost a fortune to service but worse your without your machine for a minimum of a week. But where do I buy all the necessary parts and lub from and are there different sizes. Thanks leaps
We're glad you found the video helpful. You can find the Delonghi brew unit kit on our shop following this link:

All Delonghi machines use the same parts.
My Nephew gave me a brand new Delonghi perfecta coffee machine two or three ? years ago, I have not had the nerve to try and see if I can get it going, His wife works in coffee machine sales and this it a new returned machine that would not work ,My nephew said he thought the O rings needed to be replaced, I'm thinking "they" ( at the factory forgot the food grade grease) , anynow I now have the confidence To find the problem and get this sucker going, If I'm successful I'll let you know and what the problem was, thanks so much for your video,
Great video and helped me a lot to fix my machine, - it does go at warp speed though which I don't think should be the point of an instructional video.
3:20 - removing the valve is tricky the first time as mine was black and just looks like part of the unit. Do not be afraid to use force to get it out using a similar tool to what he uses. The piece should be transparent yellow in it's original colour.
I had good luck getting that valve out with a corkscrew. Pulled straight out.
@Genius Coffee N' Espresso Equipment Inc. Hello I have a Delonghi Magnifica ESAM 3500.S and I was wondering if it will be OK to use citric acid to descale the machine, nowadays it is a bit rough to get the descaler solution around here and i am looking for an alternative to see what i can do in case i can't get it. I don't think it will be too strong on the boiler but i am not sure about the gaskets or the O-rings inside the machine, i will be really glad if i can get a professional opinion about it, I don't want to risk this expensive machine.
Hi There, we personally do not recommend citric acid or vinegar to descale your machine, they are not as effective as a descaling solution and can damage some of the components, maybe you can order it online. Cheers.
