This does not help. In fact, it is an added barrier detracting from professors assisting students. A validation is how many instructors do not use these guidelines. For instance, I was sent a link to this video in an email that did not have the mentioned saluation or sign-off. That email also contained grammar errors. Ironically enough, the email was from an English professor.

Is being respectful and mature unapproachable? I don’t understand how rules of decorum are seen as unapproachable or too stuffy. I don’t talk to my boss like they’re my friend because I don’t want them to be my friend. I want them to be my boss. Same with professors; you should see them as educators, not your best friends that you keke with.
