    Lilla vagyok. I make videos in Hungarian for those who are learning this amazing language.
    I speak slowly using simple vocabulary.
    Both Hungarian and English subtitles help you understand what I'm saying.

    Köszönöm szépen a videókat.
    Kiváló videók. Szeretek podcastokat hallgatva nyelveket tanulni. Most magyarul tanulok. Én brazil vagyok, a feleségem magyar. Beszélünk németül, folyékonyan beszélünk németül. Most a feleségem portugálul tanul, én pedig magyarul. Szeretem a videóidat, mert jól megértelek, lassan és jól kiejtve beszélsz. Motiváló, hogy egy kicsit magyarul is értek.
    Az te videóid a legjobbak között vannak a UA-cam-on a magyar nyelvtanuláshoz. Nagyon jól sikerültek, érdekes témák és magyar és angol felirattal. Szuper.

    Thank you for your effort, I really appreciate your videos, I know how difficult and painful the editing and subtitle putting is, thank you for speaking slowly and clearly.
    This is the first time I understand speaking hungarian and it motivates me a lot.
    Just keep doing what you are doing, no matter what you are saying, it doesn't necessarily have to be grammar-related video, just make a video about what you've done/seen/ate/dreamed/read etc, it will be really helpful for us.
    By the way you can just upload a video on UA-cam without publishing it, an hour later it will recognize your voice and create hungarian subtitles automatically so you can just take it from the draft uploaded unpublished video and put it to translator, then just make a little editing and save both hungarian and english texts. Then you delete the video from UA-cam, but you will get the subtitles ready.
    It will reduce you time because you don't have to digit the text while video editing. Sorry if I am speaking about obvious things, just want to contribute somehow ha ha.

    • @HungarianbyHeart
      @HungarianbyHeart  Місяць тому +1

      Köszi!! 🙏 Actually afaik UA-cam doesn't generate automatic subtitles for Hungarian. At least that's what I saw when I uploaded a video, I don't know. 😄 But as I already have the text written, I just have to correct the transcript after recording the video (also I always upload that as a pdf flie with some glossary and exercises 😁)
      So that's not really what takes time, more like editing animations and actually putting subtitles on the video. But I enjoy doing this part too:)
      I really appreciate that you're trying to help 🥺 thank you for your comment

    The Hungarian word order: Topic - Focus - Verb - Everything else. If everything else in the sentence is more important than the verb, then the verb is the last word.
    Tegnap este Dávid Líviával moziba ment. Yesterevening David with Lívia to the cinema went. The word order shows the order of importance of the terms in the sentence. This makes the language very expressive, it gives an additional meaning to the sentence, which is not in the words.This is a good video about the Hungarian language, including the Hungarian word order by a Serbian guy:
    ua-cam.com/video/ug0cdDh_oko/v-deo.html

    • @HungarianbyHeart
      @HungarianbyHeart  Місяць тому

      As long as "moziba ment" is In this order, the rest of the words don't have a strict order.
      I would barely say the sentence in the order you brought as example, but sure, it could be an option.
      Just as:
      "Tegnap este Dávid moziba ment Líviával" or
      "Dávid tegnap este moziba ment Líviával"
      These also emphasise the action of going to the cinema. If I wanted to tell someone what Dávid was doing last night, I could use both.

    • @HungarianbyHeart
      @HungarianbyHeart  2 місяці тому +1

      Thank you🥺🙏 For now I think I'll stick to these subtitles because I got some other feedback too that seeing both languages at the same time helps. Why do you think the other way would be better for you, though? 🤔 I'm just curious, maybe I'm missing something 😅

    • @KOVA1
      @KOVA1 2 місяці тому

      @@HungarianbyHeart To clarify, I am not suggesting you get rid of the current subtitles embedded in the video. That format works very well too. I think you could keep that format, but also add the native youtube CC as well. It can be turned on/off very easily.
      I like the youtube CC because it is useful to find particular words and play them back in the video. This is especially true if you use a plugin like Language Reactor, which helps language learners catalog words they are learning.
      Also, putting on my tinfoil hat, I understand that closed captions help youtube understand your video better and can be an indirect ranking factor. 👍

    • @HungarianbyHeart
      @HungarianbyHeart  2 місяці тому

      Thank you, now I see why it would make sense to add the subtitles both ways. The only thing is that now I checked and I would need to add them line by line again, and adding the current subtitles already takes hours 😅 but with a shorter video I'll try it!! Thank you again for the tip:)

    A jó válaszok nem is szerepeltek. Azzal kezdjünk a mondatot, amire rákérdeztek és nem azzal, amit már amúgy is tud a kérdező. Az mehet a mondat végére.
    1. Tojást főz reggelire Lívia. (nem húslevest)
    2. Az edzőteremben edz Juli. (nem otthon)
    3. Délután szokott Dávid boltba menni. (nem éjszaka)
    4. Teát iszik egy kávézóban Feri. (nem sört)
    5. Az egyik munkatársával ebédel ma Zsolti (nem a barátnőjével)

    • @HungarianbyHeart
      @HungarianbyHeart  Місяць тому

      Szerintem sokszor nem hangzik természetesen, ha a mondat végére kerül az alany. De az igaz, hogy nem csak egy helyes sorrend létezik:)

    It is better to incorporate subtitles with .srt files

    • @HungarianbyHeart
      @HungarianbyHeart  2 місяці тому +1

      Thank you for the feedback🙏 but that way would it be possible to see both languages at the same time?
      I think that can help a lot, especially for beginners, so that's why I've been doing it like this:)
      But I will try that in the future. I'm just not sure if there's a fast way to create an srt file, or I need to do that manually 🤔

    • @annarboriter
      @annarboriter 2 місяці тому

      @@HungarianbyHeart It is not strictly beneficial to read interlineal texts while listening to a speaker of the source language. And yes, there is an extension for YT that allows for dual subtitles if you nonetheless think it is important. One advantage of .srt files is that you can, in turn, add additional translations in order to reach native speakers in multiple languages without their having to know English. Another advantage is that the subtitles can also be turned off so as to not create a distraction while focussing on the audio.

    • @itamadrelingua
      @itamadrelingua Місяць тому +1

      @@HungarianbyHeartyou are right, srt subs will not be helpful. The main reason I am following you are the bilingual subtitles. Nobody will search for additional settings in order to disable/enable supplementary subtitle language. The people want and like simple things. If someone wants to hear the native speaker with no subtitles at all, he can watch some hungarian TV or movies, I even can recommend Kincsem as a movie option. Just keep doing what you are doing.

    The Hungarian word order: The most important message is the first phrase in the sentence, and the least important message is the last word in the sentence. The terms follow each other in order of importance in the sentence. This video is incorrect. If the question is "What is Feri doing?" then Feri is not the most important message in the answers because the questioner already knows about Feri. The most important message is in the answers: "is having tea", the second most important message: "in a café" and the least important message is "Feri". The correct solution is: Is "Having Tea in a café Feri." = Teát iszik egy kávézóban Feri.We usually don't even repeat the subject, because the person who asked the question already knows it in such cases. Teát iszik egy kávézóban. Feri is not the important message. What is Feri doing is the important message. It's like we want to rob the questioner's time if we start the answer with Feri.

    • @HungarianbyHeart
      @HungarianbyHeart  Місяць тому

      You are right, I should have mentioned that normally we skip the subject when answering a question and the subject is already obvious. But it's not incorrect to say the sentences I presented:) So much depends on context. Word order is not that strict and most of the times there are multiple ways to say something. Also a lot depends on intonation.
