I would recommend a UA-cam channel who specializes in Subies called Smeedia for a good source of information. Reliability mods that I would recommend include; Equal headers (Pro: reduces the chance of rod knock Con: loss subie rumble), Multi-layered metal head gasket paired with ARP head studs, and a aftermarket oil pick up paired with baffled oil pan. I sure there are people that are far more knowledgeable then me but this is what I have found has helped to ensure alittle more reliability. Most important thing to is to do as much research as you can before doing any mods. Hope this helps.

Hey Birdy! There’s a oem gasket kit you can use to reseal the engine. These are known for all kinds of leaks. Also check the rear subframe to make sure it’s still in good shape. Check the coolant tank by the radiator to make sure the levels stay the same and it’s not milky coolant. Hopefully this helps!
250kmils engine you are definitely a warrior but I am afraid that I would check compression first change oil/plugs/filters, fuel filter probably. Bottom needs ball joints/drop links, all bushings probably, change oil in diff well its gonna be warriorlike for your wallet. I dont know how much did it cost I assume in the range between 1500-2500
Hey heads up birdy I believe what you have there is a Impreza rs those are usually none turbo rwd subies sti, and wrx are the turbo charged AWD models but I’m not sure if there are some rs models that came AWD
@@kingsmustrise yea your motor has a lot of similarities to my wrx motor but another part where they differ is rs motors are sohc(single overhead cams) and the wrx sti are dohc (dual overhead cams) but I believe the motors have the same weakness with the oil pickup tube and oil pan that would be my first mod to improve reliability

dont wrap your car white if you planning to winter drive it. highly chance of getting into an accident due to its color and the color of snow lol. try to get a darker color for safety
Make sure you check the rear strut towers. They rust there all the time. The rear quarters also rust from the inside out. Also I hope you know you bought an Impreza and not a Wrx
