- Welcome back my abandoned Audi S3 8L to the channel. I bought this car sight unseen after it was abandoned for over 5 years. Today we continue with the rectification work, by diving into the interior to clean it all up...It's certainly going to take some doing...!

As a detailer I HIGHLY recommend gloves and at least a respirator especially when working with mold. Vinegar works great on mold, along with some type of disinfectant after cleaning. Steam needs to be on a spot to fully remove mold, and makes the mold airborne. I recommend staying away from steam as the goal is to remove all moisture.
I’ve had 5 of these S3 8L’s, love them 👍 the sagging door leather is common, I had it on my last one, door trim off, scraped all the old glue off, new spray adhesive on and it was like new again

@@greg882 bought 5 over the years as I love them, easy to repair and maintain as I’m an ex VAG mechanic. I still have 1 dry stored for when I fancy a Sunday blast out. My daily is an S3 8V

So them recaros have an extendable leg support on the bottom part of the seat, pull it forward and you will probly find a load more dirt and grime. Love the car and i miss my old one so im defo following the project

I cleaned in there - extended it without meaning too, thought I broke it at first 😂

You might want to rent an ozon machine to kill off the hidden mold you can't get to. Other than that it's looking really good
The front seats only need the 2nuts at the front removed then slide the whole lot backwards and out of the channels in the floor , then tip over and remove the wiring , you made hard work of it

Partly stressing me out you didn’t wear a face mask for the mould cleaning. The moment you touch mould the spores are air bourne. Need to look after yourself mate!

Yeah I was like, where’s your face mask, also think about using cleaner plus a magic sponge on steering wheel
Don't be surprised if the mold comes back in the winter. it normal takes a good few cleanups to get rid of it permanently
I love inside interior cleaning
I own a nissan micra which sat in my garage for almost 2 years and it had some mold at the steering wheel and the dashboard as well. I tried to get rid of this by just using an AP but after just a few days it started to "grow" again. Then I used a soft mix of water and vinegar and this was the way to success. Mold never came back since then. And I also recommend to use a Tornador Gun filled with clear water as a final step, after scrubbing the plastic and leather parts with APC, so the water can blast away the rest of the cleaner, even in the deeper sections of the plastic structure.

Love this! So much nicer, just needs an underside suspension check over, any potential air leaks and perished gaskets. You're in for a fully fledged restoration ready to run another 100K
to take the seats out the easy way: take the front cover off, undo the 2 bolts, push the seat back, undo the wires, slide the runners out the frame (of the car), takes about 5 mins, no need to leave the sub frames in
Valet Pro Enzyme Odour Eater is excellent at attacking mould.
Tried Autosmart Bio Brisk which is also recommended but the smell of Valet Pro Enzyme Odour Eater beats Autosmart in my opinion. 👍

Looking good! A couple of things having watched a few videos now.. 1. You say ‘to be honest’ and ‘obviously’ A LOT! Keep an eye on filler words and how they’re used.
2. That poor leather needs conditioning. APC isn’t generally a good idea, but if you’re going to use it then you’ve got to treat the leather after.
Otherwise I’ve subbed and look forward to more content!

Clean the vents. Mould will be sitting there and growing by the day. Don't want to be breathing that in everytime you drive it.

You should definately use a scrubber, or a sponge mate, brush will do some work but i bet if you go over it again now with a scrubber you will be shocked. Nice video.

If you got the wear in the leather re painted the interior will be mint , you don't get nice carpets like that in audis now ! The Leon mk1 had the audi a3 dash
I bought a 2003 8L S3 back in 2007 after selling my 2006 MK5 GTI, one of the best decisions I ever made. I’ve been through many cars since, and my 8L S3 is still with me, bit of a fair weather car now but I’ll never let it go, they’re still such incredible cars. Great series so far, looking forward to more, great to see one being brought back from the dead

Mould in a car is extremely hazardous and I'd have been wearing gloves and face mask.
Why not use carpet cleaner and a drill brush to deep clean the carpets?

Outside still needs a machine polish, the headlights defogging and the rust on the rear fixing.

A steamer and some anti bacterial cleaner would be good next stage
Your effort for wanting to save the car is appreciated, but it hurts my eyes to see such a big mess when it comes to cleaning and, above all, disinfecting the interior. Before starting you should have a good amount of microfiber cloths, some sponges for the steering wheel, seat and upholstery area and not just an old brush to do everything. Those seats can be further sanitized with hot pressurized steam and given some love with a leather moisturizer. The mats and the floor carpet, in addition to vacuuming the dust, you should clean them with some APC and disinfect them along the way. The plastic of the dashboard also needs to be cleaned and moisturized, and the steering wheel where there are many microbes should have been cleaned thoroughly, the windows dried with a glass cloth. For little money you can have all the products for a good cleaning and believe me you will feel better if you do things better and more carefully. That car deserves more love my brother, take the advice and be more rigorous with everything and you will see the results. Thank you very much for the video and continue saving that legendary model.👍

It was an option when you bought it, otherwise the mirrors had the color of the bodywork.

7 hours to detail that, a load of cap, no way could you do full proper decon and polish. The car was in a real shit state, unless of course you had a couple helpers on the job.
