The young lady playing the wife is Sarah Marshall her father was a famous actor and a war hero. She comes from a long line of famous British actors and writers. She is related to Mary Shelley who wrote Frankenstein for example.
This show is brand new to me. I grew up in the 70's and never watched this show, I'm going to binge watch whatever shows that they have uploaded, thank you, take care........nice to go back in time for a spell.
This was actually the penultimate (next to last) episode, but given the storyline here, it would have better served as the series finale. I do like the original opening theme being played - these are cut off because there is an announcer who says "The Donna Reed Show" as the theme ends. In syndication, they used the closing theme as the opening theme.
SONY is holding them up. The last three seasons were not owned by Donna and her husband so the family estate does not have the rights nor access to them.
I can see where this should have been the last episode broadcast. Paul Petersen should have had the last line, which would go something like this: "Well here we are in the same old house, stuck in sitcom land forever."
Most shows did not fully convert to color until 1967. Almost none were in color in 1964. Some did go color as early as 1965. Bonanza was filmed in color during it's entire run from 1959 to 1973, but most of us saw it only in black and white at the time. Color TVs were few and very expensive at the time. Some advice: Watching a black and white TV show or film will not cause you to catch VD, so just enjoy the shows. Color does not determine whether a show is any good or not, good scripts and acting do.
Blame Sony (who bought Columbia Pictures/Television and all shows' rights reverted to yet another Evil Greedy Corporation). MPI remastered and released Seasons 1-5 on DVD.
Trisha looks so much like her adopted brother, Jeff. Perhaps she was Alex’s illegitimate daughter from a secret affair! And he schemed to present her as an orphan the family needed to adopt.
@jaredjinden 🤣🤣 NOW I get it! Because, yeah, the family genetics are Strong btwn those two Ps (Paul and Patty) and 'adopting' Trisha is a total ruse....She's a Loooooove child fo shure ☮
Thank you for bringing this show back. I Love it!

Donna should not be letting strangers into her house just because they claim to have lived there before. NOT GOOD, Donna.
She didn't tell her till she was already IN the house. Kind of barged in on her.
It's a shame that Carl Betz, a very talented Actor died too early in Life ! He and Donna Reed were paired beautifully on the show....
How did he die and when? He was very handsome!

So cool of you for using penultimate correctly. Many think it means the last or final. I wish I could hear the original with the announcer
1:07 Mullenger was Donna Reed's real last name 👀
And she was born in Denison, Iowa in real life too.
ALWAYS A FUN SHOW GODBLESS PEACE AND LOVE ALWAYS MY FRIENDS 😄...(*8*)
It's such a shame they never released the last 3 seasons on DVD. I would love to watch them.

@@thomjoconnor that's such a shame
This season would air on nick at nite
Why didn't Alex and Donna just tell the guy to buzz off, the house wasn't for sale?
This show was on the air eight years, but with few exceptions, the last three seasons are not available anywhere.
I can see where this should have been the last episode broadcast. Paul Petersen should have had the last line, which would go something like this: "Well here we are in the same old house, stuck in sitcom land forever."
Colorization was 1964. We’re the last two years in color? I loved this show as a pre teen
No - the entire series was filmed in black and white. If the show had been renewed, it would have been in color as mandated by ABC.

I could see Carl Betz playing Captain Kirk on Star .trek. The togetherness pit will be a trend if the future. 😂
Sarah Marshall who played Amanda on this episode would guest star on Star Trek in the episode "The Deadly Years."
or Superman
Oooo Carl Betz would have made a great Captain Kirk :D
He could have played any role starring his look-alike James Garner.
Why has no one showed the last three seasons ? They always only show up until the season where Tricia joins the Stone family.

Trisha and Paula are real life brother and sister for those who don't know.
I have Premium so why am I seeibg commmercials before this?
That guy was an injured Lt Colonel on M*A*S*H who put his men in jeopardy, just so he could retire with a medal and be a full bird Colonel.
Frank Maxwell. He also played hospital administrator Dan Rooney on General Hospital for many years.
This doesn't make any sense..why are they going to be intimidated into selling their house??
Swimming pool less
